I stayed way too long and didn't change my lifestyle until I was in my 50's after my company eliminated my department. Thank you for your insight! Most people these days being in their young 20s, I found out, have a resurgence on looking far longer into the future. The beautiful thing in situations as this, young people who take decisions such as so tend to have more time to figure things out rather than at the dawn of their time.

    I'm giving also a review to this 😊 Their country, is perhaps the most advanced , and one of the most source of our everyday life, fashion, technologies, and etc. This started all the way back from Industrial Revolution, up to where we are now. But the saddest part of being an advanced country, is the safety of its citizens. Some of their countrymen have became trigger - happy nowadays. And I also understand if this beautiful lady came with the decision to leave US. No doubt that this is the prime reason.
    Though we are not totally progressive compared to their country, hope that their staying here will bring good memories. For now, our nature / beautiful destinations is the best that we can offer. 😊

    The flow of the conversation was great and its so nice to see foreigners who now choose to live in the philippines and their stories. Just a few things I was hoping to see. 1. Why the philippines? 2. How is her life here in terms of being far from friends and family she grew up with and how does she cope? 3. Culture wise what does she like and dislike?. Some of the questions also felt unnecessary, i mean why ask her where shes happier when she clearly is more happier here hence she stayed here. It just felt weird and the answers redundant. That said lucky her and I hope she genuinely enjoys her life in the country.

I admire Jasmine for taking a leap of faith because she believed there's more to life than what she was living in the US. • @SLOBeachboy
      @SLOBeachboy 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, finding true happiness is a great thing but let's not forget that happiness is not a one size fits all proposition. In fact, for some people happiness would be doing a job much like the one this woman gave up as they would thrive in this type of environment. As to whether or not a majority of those Westerners who end up moving to the Philippines will ultimately be happy living there indefinitely, I cannot say as I do not believe there are any statistics on this. I can say however that only an extremely small percentage of Americans or other westerner would choose to do this in the first place, even if given the opportunity. Most people are perfectly happy staying in countries like the USA and even if they are not happy, they are intelligent enough to know that their problems have nothing to do with their country. By the way, I have been going to the Philippines, Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia for over 30 years now and I have loved all the time I have spent in these places. Still, when I retired several years and moved to Thailand, I already knew that I would ultimately find that, while it’s a great place to visit, even for months at a time, it's not a place I would want to spend the rest of my life. And sure enough, after a few years I not only decided that I wanted to be back in California but also that I wanted to go back to work. By the way, I also lived in Tokyo Japan for 5 years and it was the best 5 years of my life so after California I would say this would be the most likely place I would want to spend my life. The points is: different strokes for different folks.

    Good luck to your new journey! May I suggest that you master speaking Tagalog as early as possible. I can say now with certainty that it will flatter many Filipinos. In fact, some Koreans are so successful as You tubers here in the Philippines because of the fact that they mastered speaking Tagalog early in their blogging career. I can name at least three. Dasuri Choi, Kristy Pata, and Ryan Bang. These are also the names of their channel. You're still young and there are still many things you can be busy of to earn for a living here.

    To quit and moved to a different place, for me it’s a lot of guts to do it. Stress at work is common even if you do you own business . Happiness is not an emotion, should be in your heart. No matter where you go or what type of work that you’ve been doin’ and without contentment, you are going to be on the same scenario. Hopefully, you will not get tired to living in the Philippines and praying that God will give the desire of your heart.

    I am a Filipino who grew up in New Jersey since moving there when I was 13 in 1980. Fast forward to today, I have been living in the Philippines for the last 6 years. America is the land of the opportunity and I thank Lady Liberty for being welcoming. But after years of work, racial divide, winter woes, i decided to moved back here. My only regrets is I don't see my eldest son often from my previous marriage.

    I’m also born and raised in America been here my whole life and finally moving to Thailand this spring.The USA has always been nothing but hustle and bustle we were taught to work hard for everything and one day it will pay off.In America nothing else is valued than working hard.But the other thing is that the Philippines,Thailand,Indonesia,
    Malaysia,Laos,Cambodia,Vietnam they still have farming and alot of agriculture we don’t have a lot of that here in the USA.The USA also doesn’t hardly mamas nor produce any raw materials and natural resources these things are very important for us to know as it limits how much an economy can improve and also limits what people can achieve and do outside of a government job.So that’s why in the Philippines or Thailand there people work at forest preserves and national parks while here in the USA people are slaving in warehouses working for Amazon performing repetitive tasks everyday 🤔.So for me I have a lot of reasons why I’m leaving the USA don’t even get me started on all the corporations here in 🇺🇸 USA my good ness.The poor public transportation that they condemn instead of continuing to improve it.Everything in USA is like you either do it this way or not at all there is no room for alternatives for other options and that creates complications for your own citizens it lays a barrier on personal growth and personal freedom.

    For mental and emotional stability, yes, I'll do it, too. When you want to understand and find yourself away from the hustle and bustle, just peace and quiet. But she's young, maybe she only needs her space, she'll wake up one day and say, I want to go back to where my family and friends are. Also, it depends on her ability to finance her new lifestyle.

    I took the traditional Boomer 30 year career and retirement route. It help that I had an interesting and fulfilling career. I worked on work/life balance during my working years. The result was retiring at 55 with a decent pension and Social Security. I retired to Thailand in 2017.
    I realize that the working world is very different than when I started out in 1980. As an American expat though I have some concerns about young people settling in countries like the Philippines and Thailand being able to save for the future. If you are not earning western dollars it could be a problem.

    I left because I experienced the Philippines with more FREEDOM.
    YEP! compare to the West and Europe.
    But I think you should go back in the states once in a while, visit and stay with your relatives then you always can come back to the Philippines
