      Hot, humid weather. Short people with shitty accents. Disgusting manners. People walking into MRT stations like soldier ants. Chewing gum is a criminal offense. Not flushing toilets is a criminal offense. In fact, almost everything is a criminal offense, including being naked in your own home even when you're alone. This is an Orwellian country. A fekkin joke of a country. What's there not to like?

    • @leenathayil2039

      @@brianlaudrup5271- I have lived in NYC and now living in San Francisco. Both cities have pockets of extremely shitty places where world-class criminal activities happens everyday and no one gives a shit. Why because there are no "criminal offense" rules established so people are so shitty and are full of envy of other successful people. In Singapore, no one cares. Traffic offenses in North America and Europe have heavy penalty too when you cross the line. In North America and Europe, if you are stark naked in your own home and your blinds or curtains are drawn closed, you can bet that your naked lifestyle is going to be displayed to the world via social media. Why, because people in these countries stay indoors most of the time and are bored so your nakedness is a past time for them. In Singapore no one cares. Why because most people are out of their homes enjoying the outdoors. Next time, when you sit on a disgusting salivary chewing gum on the train or bus or car, don't swear all the dirty f words. Just enjoy the chewing gum sticking to your bums. Don't glorify your western country or other western countries. There are many many serious faults in western countries. It's the same for any country.

Sure, we don't get unlimited paid sick leave, but we do get 10 days of paid sick leave, 20 paid vacation days, a dozen paid public holidays, 5 paid carer days, and 2 bereavement days. Plus, doing your taxes in Australia takes around 5 minutes, and we get our tax refunds back in 5-7 business days. I lived in Germany until 2017 and was thrilled to come back to the best country on earth-Australia. @@livethiswayTVdepends on what purpose they are used for. If used wrongly, olive oil and coconut oil can cause a lot of harm to your body as well. They are only healthy if used correctly. That is what that person meant by ALL vegetable oils, it is for the purpose of cooking common hawker foods, i.e. if you use olive oil for many hawker foods, the damage is the same or even worse, because you may think that it is healthy so you take it more often, so it gives you a false confidence. Olive oil and coconut oil are only good when used for more "western" dishes, especially referring to salads without heat. So basically if you're cooking many Asian dishes with olive oil, you are just doing damage to your own body. You can research yourself exactly what is truly good to use olive oil for and what is harmful to use olive and coconut oil for, and what should be used instead.

    There was once IRAS called me to ask why I'm declaring so low business expenses for the year as it's typically around 30% for my line of work (I declared 15%)....where in the world will the tax officer wants to help you pay less taxes!? ❤

    • @RyuUzu-pg1uy
      @RyuUzu-pg1uy วันที่ผ่านมา

      What makes you think the IRAS officer purely wants to help you reduce YOUR taxes? Perhaps they are seeing if they can justify reducing the default expense of EVERYONE in this line of work, i.e. all freelancers from 30% to 15% going forward. As an accountant or auditor, we always have to analyse from all ALL angles and understand something in order to implement it across board, so perhaps IRAS needs justification from you to increase the "recommended" expense percentage for everyone. So stop thinking of only yourself. For many people, their business expenses could even be 50% to 2000% or even more of their revenue, depending on whether they are a start up and how aggressively they want to expand their business to decide how much to reinvest in their business , vs if they have been established for many years with much higher revenues and lower investment expense %. It is normal for us to question whether or not a figure is too high or too low. We do not only ask questions when it is not in our favour.

    This is the best and most helpful interview that Max has done. The health part is what I'm trying to achieve, doing the 16/8 fast, which is very doable. Some things which I didn't think it's possible for me, such as drinking kopi-o kosong, I'm doing it. I never even like coffee in the first place. 😀 But kopi-o kosong is very drinkable now, not my favourite I admit. But adding a little unsweetened oat milk, it's been my go-to beverage now. Like he said baby steps with small habits. Every small healthy habits we acquire, it's a win. Just have a series of small wins and it becomes something great, for our bodies.

    when i was studying in the US, doing taxes was the single most painful, dubious and tedious process. no one explains how to do the HUGE stack of paperwork, and if u get even 1 small thing wrong, they can come after you. it was very nerve-wrecking and took me over 2 weeks to do the paperwork. and their tax is crazy high, with multiple levels - federal, state, county, alien (that's what they call foreigners), medical (which i couldn't use but had to pay). came up to about 40% of my student work income. Singapore tax is amazing. just log in, check if correct, then done!
