I love that glass! These smooth series from Dewar's is a pretty good way to see different cask effects on somewhat light whiskies. For that reason and them being very reasonably priced, I enjoyed what I tried from the series. Basic, tasty palate adjusters :) Cheers!
@@thewhiskyenthusiast that’s a good point, being a lighter whisky it did let the cask expression speak for itself without being too overpowered by other flavours of the whisky. Thanks.
So Take 2 of the Highball was closer to a 50:50 mix? Either way, I've been eyeing off the Chivas Extra Mizunara Finish (there are a handful of them left around Oz) but didn't realise there was a Dewars Mizunara finish that's readily available at Dan's. I'm keen to try a fully matured Mizunara Whisky (not just finished) but they're all rather expensive. Interested if you have any recommendations in that regard? Great video as always mate 👍🏻
@@engineerednetwork thanks mate. I think it was more like a third whisky to two thirds soda in the end (I did a second pour after the video to really get it right). From memory the Chivas Mizunara cask was a bit more pronounced in the mizunara flavours than the Dewar’s. I’ve never had a fully matured mizunara whisky either, but I’ve always wondered if it would turn out to be a little too sweet. It’s only Japanese whiskies that have done full mizunara aging and we know how Japanese prices are going. If you ever find an affordable one, let me know.
