Yes, Toki makes an awesome highball. For budget-friendly options, I like: ‘Naked Malt’ Blended Malt Scotch, Loch Lomond ‘Spearhead’ Single Grain Scotch, and Teeling Single Pot Still Irish. My favourite affordable whiskies of all are the ones where the retailer has made a pricing error or has gone to clearance too hastily. In such cases, prices can be 20%, 30%, 40% less than their RRP. For example, Loch Lomond 18 YO and Glen Scotia 15 YO were AUD$100 until quite recently.

I've been hearing good things about the 'Naked Malt' so I'm really keen to try that. Long time fan of Loch Lomond (also a Tin Tin fan) and Teeling. I know what you mean about the retail errors - I managed to pick up a Highland Park 21yo for under $100. I think the person doing the pricing saw 12 rather than 21.

@@thewhiskyscribe Nice one! I snaffled a bottle of Wolfburn Langskip (58% ABV) for AUD$55. Caveat venditor.

As I am Dutch I love a good bargain too😂. I just bought a Smoky Scot Madeira cask finish, a Templeton Rye and a Red Breast 12 (30 euro on sale), I will defenitly be checking out the Glendalough, 🥃

I haven't tried the Smoky Scot or the Templeton Rye, but I'll certainly have to as I love peat and am really getting into Rye lately. I adore the Redbreast 12, but unfortunately it's not quite a budget whisky here as it retails at about $130 in Australia.
