I love these kinds of formats. Very impressed with the guesswork, too!

Great to hear! We’ll start including a few more of these style videos.

Nate, I spend 1,000% more time drinking and cogitating on whisky than my better half (who suffers from 'acetaldehyde accumulation flush' in any case) and yet... she has a better nose and palate than me. She picks out hyper-perceptive tasting notes which bring me crashing down to earth. Except when it comes to the peaties, which she doesn't much like. Cheers, Nate and Jess, thanks for the video (and good luck to the snoring boy).

Thanks mate. I think Jess was a little nervous being on camera the first time. Usually when we're filming if I'm struggling to work out what a particular aroma is, she'll point out what she's smelling from my glass at the other side of the room... and she's usually right dammit!

When the baby gets older? Before you know it, he is saying "move over dad you're tasting that whisky wrong"😂😂😂😂. I did a tasting two weeks ago with my oldest daughter for the first time, and she was pickking flavours like cappuchino, white chocolate and custard pudding where I would say yeah I taste coffe, chocolate or vanilla😂😂, they grow up so fast, enjoy the snorring

@@thewhiskyscribe what I enjoyed the most was that I could share a passion of mine with my daughter and spend some time together. After the tasting she could relate why I enjoy drinking a whisky once in a while. For me it's the history, the craft, the technique and the chemistry involved; she got that. She will never be a whisky drinker but now she knows it's more than just a spirited drink. It can be enjoyed alone but somehow gets better when you drink it in good company. I hope you can share the same experience with your son one day; but for now enjoy the snoring, it means you can catch up with some sleep 🤣🤣🤣🤣🥃

Nice one guys, loving Jess' energy 😃🥃 Man women are much better at tasting and nosing aren't they? My wife's the same, she just gives me notes that I feel blind to at first.
Great video guys, one ask maybe for blinds like these is at the editing you could put the image of the whisky Jess is trying and maybe some cask info because I forgot what was being tasted and had to go back and find out. Just a friendly tip if it's not too much trouble. Cheers guys!

Thanks mate, and that’s a good note for next time. Definitely keen to do this style of video again. I’m sure Jess’ palate and tasting notes will quickly surpass mine the more we do this.

I still struggle with taste and smelling notes.

It doesn’t really matter if you’re pulling out super complex tasting notes, so long as you’re enjoying it. “It tastes good” is a perfectly acceptable note.

    Jess spinoff channel incoming?

What? And watch her get more subscribers than me in a week… I’d support that.
      For now, occasionally guest co-host.

Just starting to get into whisky as part of my midlife crisis. Pretty hard to describe the aromas even when you are drinking the whisky being reviewed in a youtube video. Having ribbish sinus doesn't help as well. Personal taste so far doesn't always reflect pricing.

@@MickfromAU everyone has different palates too. I watch TH-camrs like @mcintyresmalts who used to be a chef and think to myself “I’m not getting fennel, why are you getting fennel?”
