I see a lot of questions here but no answers. I almost made a decision to sponsor a "friend". However, when I found out that I will be financially responsible for that individual for up to 10 years, I decided against it. If during that time I can't fulfill my financial obligations, that person can sue me. Life is hard unless you're rich, I don't want the government in my pocket for 10 years. You have to be 100% certain this is something you want to do for a foreigner.
But that is kind of strange.i mean no one is living off of you. If an immigrant is going to USA it alike they are going big or goo n home they not there to play around.they there to make the American money build business and send money back home.why should they sue you?that's so wrong.actually that sue I g was o my I think in cases of the husband and wife and the wife was too money hung r to realize people go thru tough time and in Americaists so easy for her husband to get access to food and housing to get back on his feet and support her.i mean why isn't she could not work.

The applicant and petitioner have their family of 5 kids and the two= 7 in the household. The brother in law is Single, 0 dependents. He is is only joint sponsoring the applicant just 1 person. She was denied . They told her that her brother in law had to earn 50K . And he made 44K . Why? If the joint sponsor has no family , and he has never been sponsor to others in the past . Did the consular officer made a mistake? The brother in law filled out the i864 not i864a thank you.

This co spouse is dragging me crazy my wife is giving up on us already because of this, my wife is a license Forster care parent that has 2 kids that’s under her care and she’s getting paid from both of them kids and also my wife is getting income from social security but none of her income is taxable she makes total income of $3000 every month which is totally $36000 Annual, but our lawyer say we need a co spouse and my wife friend wants to be our spouse she’s making only $19000 Annually and she’s leaving by her self with no kid’s but it remains like 3 months to make it a year at her workplace is it most she most be up to a year at her workplace befor she be our co spouse please someone help me out I don’t wan to lose my wife

Than you need to find a Cosponsor that is willing to take the responsibility, or you need assets like stocks, bonds, savings account and so on.
