Doing this at Christmas with my Buffalo Trace loving family members. It should be fun.

I like that Drew is actually a bourbon drinker. He might have to use a spitoon while he's at work just to make it through the day and make good decisions about what is or isn't good enough to be bottled and sold, but when he's just making a TH-cam video about bourbons and his employer's reputation isn't on the line he actually drinks each bourbon and fully enjoys everything they have to offer.

Drew, I dig your enthusiasm, you’re a gentleman and a scholar. I have been doing this same lineup with friends, it’s a fun thing. Can I have some Wellers?

Great show. I’m interested in purchasing tasting glasses with the measure lines. Can you tell me where I can get those?

Unfortunately i tried only Buffalo trace and Eagle rare. So far eagle rare is my favorite, but I never tried Stagg junior and E.H. Taylor. hard to find the allocated bourbons now. It's sucks!

So that specific Stagg Jr Batch is someone's favorite? I can't even see which Batch it is.

Why do we get the watered down 40% version of Buffalo Trace here in the UK?

    Hi @Buffalo Trace,
Awesome Video! So all 5 of these whiskies have the exact same mashbill.
What are all the factors that differentiate them from one another?
    1) Age in barrel (BT = 8 years, ER= 10 years, etc)
    2) Barrel proof (Stagg) vs Diluted (BT)
    3) Which warehouse it was aged in (Colonel Taylor in Warehouse C)
What other factors affect the taste of each bourbon? Different levels of Char?
Please let me know! Thank you

I have wrestled with this myself. I suspect when mash bill #1 gets to 7/8 years, they taste each barrel individually. Based on the taste of the bourbon in the barrel, they will decide if it is Colonel EH Taylor or 'put it back for another year or two'.

Strange there are no single barrel releases by Buffalo Trace of mash Bill #1. Exception would be for store picks.

There’s literally a CEHT Single Barrel sitting right there on the table

Tons of knowledge. Great content. But maybe a boom mike because the mouth sounds...geezus the mouth sounds.

I've passed over the benchmark brand several times now just because of the price point. Now that I've tried the buffalo trace, I think I'll go ahead and try a 1.75 of it as a mixer. I know it won't be quite as good as any of the other #1 mash bill whiskies from Buffalo trace but even if it's only half as good it might just become my new cheap whiskey of choice.

I've found it works quite well as a mixer for cocktails.
I also like to use the White Dog for various infusions, or to drop into simple syrups to help preserve them for longer. Adds another dimension to an old fashioned or similar that is also made with one of the expressions on the table.

You “target” 4 years. On the Benchmark? It looks like it says 8 years RIGHT ON THE BOTTLE!

It doesn’t say 8 years old.
It says Old Number 8 brand.

you can use White Dog as a stain remover, lawn mower primer, and fruit punch spike to get the party started. Sipping.. not so much
Buffalo Trace use to be a great value but it was hard to find, allocated, or sold way over MSRP.. so .. its a questionable statement to call it a 'great value'... and it is still hard to find..
As for the rest of that lineup.. ALOCATED in most states and way overpriced .. STAG for example.. have not even seen a bottle outside a rare drop in the VA ABC stores.. so.. is the rest of that lineup..
I will take a Russel 10 any day that is easy to find on the shelves, not hyped over MSRP secondary market.. not saying BT is not a great distilery but lets keep it real ok..
