Real Dodge musclecar fans want V8s. We don't want EVs, nor do we want turbo-charged small displacement sixes or fours. Please return the HEMI V8! That would make a wonderful Christmas present!
xmas is going to come and go lol
True fans remember the smaller displacement engines from back in the day. Today the smaller engines could easily be turbo-4 or inline six engines. Having something quick and agile( something more sports car than muscle car) in the line would be a nice addition.
Agreed 100%
If you want these cars to survive emissions regulations and the future then you're going to have to settle with small displacement V8s BEST case scenario. Medium case scenario 6 cylinders. Besides, more power dense engines are good because then you got the same amount of fun while not having to get gas as often.
@@ogchipotle What about reliability?
Bring back a car most people can afford!
good luck.
If you wanna play you got to pay
@@cosmo411manual windows, no ac, and more
Wouldn't be special if most people can afford it, if that's what you want go for a used 10 year old car or a new corolla
75%ish of what you pay goes to the government in one way or another.
I hope to God the HEMI back 😊
I always get duped into watching videos that are AI voiced. Damn thing can't even pronounce Hemi.
And FFS, AI, quit saying "gamechanger!" 😂😂
“The H.E.M.I Engine” 🤣🤣🤣
Yep....me too....stopped vid at that point and gave it a thumbs down.
Bring the challenger back and put the inline 6 engine for base models and the new v8 hemi for the rt models.
Same thing I was thinking SXT and GT come with 3.0 L Inline 6
I would like to see a single turbo-charged 3.0L in-line six rather than dual turbos as a base engine. Call it "CUDA", leave the Charger to Dodge.
Ya. Or even an N/A one.
And make the EV the base model for the few people that actually want it and get rid of the stupid engine sounds! I only want V8's!
Hell yeah, I agree with that. Add to the CUDA to the collection.
Corvette ZR1 has a 5.5 twin turbo. Let’s get a 5.8 twin turbo here. We need 1100 HP minimum.
I agree. I'm confident they got something planned.
Chasing corvette is not ideal. That things a monster plus the Zora package hasn't even released 1200hp awd. It's already hitting 233mph so instead dodge should just focus on making it lighter at this point. It'll need 1400+ to compete with the ZR1
@@maromyers964thats viper territory. They need to bring that back as a V12.
@kenik2023 right. That'll actually be the only competitor to the C8 ZR1. A mid engine viper would be nice, but there actually coming out with the tomahawk, which will replace the viper. If SRT brings that beast out, it will kill the Zr1. That thing is remarkable even though I like corvette
426 twin s. Charges can do that any day
Kinda sad that the emissions
That are released that are
actually not that bad
Sad that a a few people say something about the emmitions millions of people suffer
compared to the amount of materials it need to build a ev engine a combustion engine is nothing
And this makes me love trump more for ev pushing back the United States is healing
Basically, Stellantis needs to drop prices and improve the electronics in all of their vehicles. Correcting the underlying issues that cause reliability problems should be the main thing that needs focus, followed by the overinflated prices. Those 2 things alone could sell 1/3 more vehicles or more.
The voice can’t say HEMI ?!!!
Ehich EEE EM EYE! LMAO!!
The Hellephant was a 7L, a 426 HEMI
He’s talking about the hellephant engine that’s in the demon 170 if u didn’t know, u do now
There's only one Hellephant. If you didn't know, you do now smart ass@@AndrewBarragan-j3j
@@AndrewBarragan-j3j Pay attention. Look it up all you like. The Demon 170 was a supercharged 6.2 L. The one and onloy Hellephants was and is a supercharged 426HEMI. Obviously you still dont know or cant comprehend simple facts
@@danflanagan5844and helliphant was only available as a crate engine. it was a love letter from mopar to gear heads
Bring back the Cuda!
Amen Brother, infact bring back the Plymouth brand
@CJColvin 👍
Hell Yeah !!!
If you want solidly sourced information about a new Dodge engine, you can skip this video. There is nothing about a new engine discussed until you get to the 4:20 mark , and what you hear is all vague guesswork that any of us could have come up with. The rest of the video is all history and rehashed things we have heard already many times. Save 10 minutes of your life, and move on.
- the name Charger “Daytona” should have Helliphant engine. - give the ppl options. EV, EV hybrid I4, I6, V6, V8, V10 🤷🏻♂️
Just don’t use cheap plastic parts when you need metal. Make a 32v, and a multi- cam 318. Get 400 to 450 out of it. Bulletproof the bottom end for forced air options.
1964-1974 cars with big engines, because that's when the muscle car era ended.
They aren't looking at it they are doing it!
If Dodge launches a new model with a new V8, I know for a fact they will sell millions of them.
I could have had a V8
Bring back the 340 C.I. Engine, Fully Forged, then Twin Turbo it. That little 340 6 Pack, back in the day was an incredible high revving little engine. Make the Engine all aluminum and shave 600-800 lbs off the Challenger.
Totally agree!
Those 340's were a sinister little engine.
I'm 74 now, but had a new 72 Dart Demon with high performance engine (orange block), purple cam, X heads, electronic ignition. All factory!
The little bugger would go! 🤭
@ That’s awesome.
@@reb2322 I love a 340 in any car, but a friend of mine's 69 Dart GTS with the 440 could take down ZL1 Camaros in the 1/4 mile.
Banshee name used to be a Pontiac😊
The hurricane project was started at least 10 years. Allpar website spoke heavily on this years ago. The new V8 project started the same tyme the hurricane I6 did years ago. There have been leaks on this for years
Funny thing is, people will probably get a V8, and it will still get the brakes beat off of it by the Hurricane lol
The hurricane I heard blows head gaskets
All they need is a small displacement V8 with 300 to 400 hp., to be affordable. We don't need 8 or10 inch display, and backup cameras , and lane departure warnings. Just the basics to make it affordable.
Meh, they said the same thing about the 2.0 Hurricane. Part of the reason to have plasma coated cylinders and not sleeve is to have more deck area for the head to seal. Only drawback to the i6 bandwagon is that reliability is still to be seen.@joeamabile5908
The EV will definitely beat the V8
FCA and Stellantis need to DE-merge.
They need to get rid of the active fuel management... this will really help to keep the transmission lasting longer... gm is having the same problems.. right now America is ranked the worst in reliability for vehicles for the consumer... this must change
Nobody wants an EV Dodge, they will learn the hard way.
I still want the hemi.
We demand a 4th generation 426 Hemi with 800 hp.
They should try to make an efficient and reliable V8 engine
Hahahahahahaha..."the world is moving rapidly towards electric vehicles"...hahahahahaha. NOT!!
Bring back the slant 6!😊😊😊😊
225 BABY😂
Modern day slant 6 would run a million miles easily. That would kill their sales even more lol
They kinda/sorta did bring it back😁
Tough to bring into EPA compliance.
A Jeep with an electric motor for each wheel would be sick.
produce the new engine...fine with that....but don't fuck with a proven engine people love.
This so-called “New Charger” doesn’t look NEARLY as GOOD as The CHALLENGER!!
BRING IT BACK…and make The CONVERTIBLE a Factory Option !!
NOBODY can AFFORD to pay an extra $25,000 to get a CONVERTIBLE!!
I've been tearing up the strength of my Challenger 392 burning a hole into the street like a killer demon😅👿🥹😁🙀😲
FCA never merged with Stellantis.
FCA and PSA merged to form Stellantis 💯
Attention, American! The world is not moving to electric vehicles like you claim. There are too many gasoline piston engine vehicles on road already. V-8s 4 ever!😁🛠️
Not to mention, EVsales are in the toilet worldwide.
lol, actually the world bought 17 MILLION EV's in 2024 up 25%. ICE gas sales are down 10%. Attention... gas is dead
I'd be interested in a performance diesel in a car.
Think about it!
Mopar will always be the number one cars indeed you will see them come back with more power than ever
A 265 Hemi straight six that would be nice
Is this channel even run by a real person?
Hemi been in every Dodge muscle cars
Dodge replaced the Beautiful timeless challenger with the butt ugly 2 door Pontiac gto looking dodge charger ev pile of junk that is uninspired and none of the automotive journalists have recommended it at any price that’s a huge problem already a flop before it’s out of the gate. They gambled on EV and lost big time 300 mile range is not going to cut it the technology is so much underdeveloped that it’s not really good at anything it’s a future clunker at the junkyard
Yep you got it brother
Gm started up a driver education program for people who bought Corvettes, it might be a good idea for Mopar to do the same. Soon enough people are going to start litigation against the manufacturers just as they did for the Gun Manufacturers. It's something to consider, these kids in the computer age have all the money to buy Hundred grand car and paying cash for them, there's going to be tuner kits for these new Beasts. Just a thought.....
Radford school
I've been saying this for years. You purchase a very high performance vehicle. You get a week at a driving school. Most people are not as good behind the wheel as they think.
Put the demon engine in the Daytona and they could create a monster.
If these guys heard about the Hemi-6 they would have a heart attack.
Ram needs a V8 more than Dodge, but it would help having two brands selling V8s. It would have to be a modern design DOHC V8.
Bring back the magnum engines especially the V10
383 and 440
The new V8s should be more compact while keeping the pushrods and not going to OHC, similar to the LS. They can still be called the Hemi (or not; I’m good either way), but they should keep similar displacements:
5.7 as the base V8 for pretty much any application. 410 HP and 450 ft/lbs
6.4 as the “SRT” version. 500 HP and 550 ft/lbs
7.2 as the HD truck gas engine (not to be confused with the 7.2 Cummins that’s coming soon). 550 HP and 600 ft/lbs
6.2 supercharged. Can still be called “Hellcat”. 750 HP and 725 ft/lbs
7.0 supercharged. Known as the “Hellephant”, it is now the premier engine for Dodge. 1100 HP and 1050 ft/lbs.
The new Charger should be a mid-sized car with 2 doors, similar to the Mustang and Camaro. The Challenger would essentially be what the new Charger is, just with a different name. Many other cars would be resurrected or newly introduced:
Aries (full-sized SUV based on Ram 1500. Available as a 2-door version known as “Ramcharger”)
Dart (full-sized sedan meant to replace the 2006-2024 Charger)
Avenger (mid-sized sedan)
Neon (compact sedan)
Magnum (full-sized crossover)
Nitro (compact SUV)
Dakota (midsize truck. Uses a new body on frame platform with similar styling to Durango)
the hellaphant wasn't a 6.2l. it was 426 hemi
Should have built a ball-stud Hemi engine !!!!!!!
Rumors! No Proof! These videos are just talk! Its best to wait and see!
Forgot the 6.4 in the Scat Packs
I still remember when GM brought out the 265 cubic inch V8 and how much power they could get out of it. Then came the 283 cubic inch V8 later with more power. Both of the V8's got great mpg's for their day. Why can't they make V8's like this and still get reasonable mpg's and power out of it.
The 170 was jaw dropping with motors blowing up. Owners had that home alone face 😂🤣
Only so much you can do with a wet sump oil system...
No more turbos please!😮😮😮😮
I want a SUPERCHARGED 426 HEMI CUDA! NO CYLINDER DEACTIVATION! PERIOD!
a twin turbo 440 Magnum would be radical, sell it in stripped down base cars and trucks
Chrysler in their infinite lunacy dropped a 440 into a Dart in 69.
To tell you the truth, is they need to just go ahead and bring out the secret V8 option that they have just bring the V-8 back. To bring the market all of that back and then still do EV’s it should be an option for both if people want engines then that’s what you give them and then if they want EV that’s what you give them.
they need to bring back the 440
There's nothing out there that could deal with a Challenger😊
Will have to wait and see for a few years. In the news there have been quite a few stories about car companies and there new engines being bad. The make new engines using low quality product to save money so it ends up many trips to the shop for repairs using the same low quality products which mean the same thing hoping the warranty runs out. Some end being made to replace the whole engine with a better product!
Hey Auto Insiders, have you not heard about Stellantis? They are not going to spend a dime developing new engines for Dodge. Who would build the cars? Stellantis is closing down the assembly plants!
I have a Hemi in my Ram truck 27 mpg on the highway, 14 mpg in town , and my Jeep Grand Cherokee has the V6 and gets fantastic gas mileage, but the story is not MPG but All electric cars that people don’t want and is NG for over 50% of the country because of cold winters and no charging stations , Dodge has been a leader in engine power and design for years if they drop their V8 engines they will leave the public with cars they don’t want ,besides with Americas new Energy production gas will be a lot cheaper and people will be looking for cars with gas engines and power! Chose wisely Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler it’s what the people want not a few politicians ?
We need more than rumors! Hope they flush the Evs
Great video. Since Tim Kuniskis is back at CDJR how about an update?
This sounds like Butter The Informer's video!
They should have made a 3 liter v8 instead of the hurricane first
What is the future of Dodge? "YOU'RE FIRED!"
" YOU'RE "
@captainamerica9353 I have a learning disability. It's kind'a like Dislexia. Sorry, I 'll corect my spelling.
@@richardbrowne3641 Sure, always here to help!
It might succeed the Hemi, but it won't replace it.
Dodge should not only bring the Charger back, but they should create a smaller car, a sedan, to compete with the smaller BMWs to better utilize their Hurricane engines. They could offer a convertible version. A Chrysler version of the smaller sedan could be offered as a convertible which would surely reignite interest from all the retirees who drove the Chrysler Sebring convertibles and the 200 convertibles.
The Banshee EV will be nothing but a well hidden memory in 3 years. You did not pay attention. Few people want EV's.
Hope the V8 comes back!!
And not a Twin Turbo Shit in a V8 !!!
A robust original V8 to Chrysler-Dodge, RAM, Jeep.
The engine must come back!!!!
Better build those engines in Kokomo, IN. Otherwise, big tariffs are coming to Stellantis.
Think about it everybody fell in a deep sleep and thought the demon 170 was the dopest 🥺🤣🥺😾😿
Dodge already made a V8 Magnum.
If they’re doing a V8, it NEEDS an aluminum block.
Aluminum Big Block
Bring back the hemi put it into a viper body to be like the Corvette
When dodge came out with the last Generation Hemi the heads were said to have been designed to be upgraded to a 4V per cylinder. What happened to that idea? Also what’s the point of coming out with a so call car performance lineup only to make it heavier by a thousand pounds? Why does the Charger/Challenger have to weigh 4400-4600lbs when a Mustang, while it’s a little smaller is nowhere near as heavy. These cars don’t need MORE horsepower, they need to weigh less, that alone would make the car get better gas mileage there is no need for these cars to be as heavy as a 4X4.
Give me a 318/360 V8.
Think about it 392 is the real Junior hellcat never heard no problems with that vehicle😮 the first hellcat came after then the the first demon 👿 then the red eye
You have a lot of people that has brought a hellcat and crashed it because they did not know anything about that vehicle 🚑😢😮🥺😲🙀
nah when i hear american muscle car i think of mustang☝️
Yea Stellantis spent a ton of money on the EV that no one wanted. And now they know they can take that EV and sh... it. So whatever they come up with will be more expensive to cover their loses on there EV's that no one asked for. And the last thing I want to know is who is building that engine.
800 to 850 horsepower in a gasoline engine. Straight gas or E85. I don't care if it's turbo'd, supercharged, 4,6, or 8 cylinders. Give me the torque to pin me and passengers to the seat back. I like
the idea of electric, but I like taking the 15 minutes to fuel up, use the facility, and get a cold drink before I blast off again. Taking 4, 6, or 8 hours to charge up is not on my radar screen.
oh and FYI the BEV is not summer 2025. I called a local dealer and they have 6 showing up in one week so still in Dec 2024
It's so secret it doesn't even exist.
I am the true Knight Rider😂😈🫣🤫😖😧😸
if it is an inline 6, or anything thats more "eco-friendly" we dont want it, it sucks. the sellout/merger was the BIGGEST mistake dodge/ram EVER made
One thing dodge did wrong was go to EV, the sound on them doesn't even sound like a original V8. Sure they look cool and are nice inside but it's not a V8! Stellanis messed up! Glad Tim stood up and said something! Called them out and let investors know what was going on ITS Called Transparency Stellanis !!!! Hopefully they were smart enough to make the new V8 engines bullet proof! and can be modded! If anyone seen SRT Dad video on the CAMMED OUT 170 you need to check it out! It's Solid!
Hey let's just make hemi v8 not tick or have it fall apart
You can never forget of an old school car😮 but try to mimic and make a new one that looks like it😢 about American muscle is everything and it's nothing like owning an SRT😅😈
Video says testing a v8 but proceeds to show the new ev
Let it go. It over. The v8 is done.
Apparently not, look at what Ford and GM are doing. And now that Carlos is gone, the V8 is back.
Is this how you want your parents to find out you're gay? Is it?
Get your prices in line with small pockets.
Claiming to be a luxury brand recently, that is a joke, can they even put out a product that will last beyond the warranty without a bunch of recalls.
Anything they try to produce before correcting leadership problems will fail.
Then they have to sort out why most products are 20-30K more expensive than they need to be.
I was very excited about the 2 door charger , but i'll never ever buy an electric muscle car!!!!!!
The hurricane was a euro engine from france
How many life supports is Dodge needing to stay alive. At least cars like Plymouth, Oldsmobile and Pontiac died with dignity.
New V8 = 90 degree V6 Pentastar + 2 more cylinders?
a 4/6cyl single/twin turbo motor would flat out die way before a n/a v8......
