Fascism is also dependent on the insecurities of males, especially young ones, especially white ones. The first thing that happens is that empathy is treated as a weakness, something unmanly. Once that precept is established, all else follows.
Thanks for this, I've been looking for a coherent and concise way to articulate almost exactly this sentiment about male insecurity. There must be a partner thesis for the women that encourage it?
@@classiclife7204 I think that's at least partly true as insecure males fall for stupid narratives telling them what women want, but that doesn't explain why a few women actually want it. That's probably something that cant be synthesized into a YT comment anyway.
One time Ben Shapiro defended Kanye West, until West talked in an antisemitic way. Ben Shapiro never talked about Kanye West again. But of course Klandace Owens did.
Right wingers are fine with hate and violence so long as it's not against their personal sacred cows. This is why fascism infinitely fractures without a brutal enough strongman up top to force everyone into obedience.

The fascists in North America seem to be saying--we're not going to increase your wages or do anything about the housing crisis or inflation, but won't it be a lot more easy to cope with it if you can turn on the news and see people you hate suffering from some unfair and gratuitous 'policy" that does noting but maintain injustice.
It's as LBJ said: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
Their intentions are becoming harder to hide. This is scary but also good for the slower and misinformed people that are starting to realize now. As an American, admittedly, we're fucking terrible at reading between the lines or comprehending subtle signs and dog whistles. A lot of people are stressed out and/or flat out apathetic so they don't take proper time to understand how bad the situation has gotten. A lot of Americans dont understand that things work in stages, steps, and/or spectrums. Its like we view life like cartoons. We have to hear people say "Yup, that's me! The bad guy!" I don't think most Americans know who Francisco Franco is which means that the Michael Knowles and other overt fascists will still have traction due to Americans lack of education of regimes that the US didn't directly bomb the living daylights out.

Polls are not saying Biden is going to lose to Trump. Trump's favorability and the willingness to vote for him is basically a 1 to 1 overlap. For Biden this isn't the case. If I was American and was being polled on if I like Biden I would at best be able to say that he is ok-ish considering previous American presidents, but I would still absolutely vote for him over Trump, and I think that is true for many people.
People are just terrified of Trump winning and taking anything as a sign of that impending doom. Trump can win, but as always, it'll come down to who can make it to the polls and where. Not what's dominating the headlines. If Biden retains Pennsylvania and one other swing state, the path to victory for Trump is pretty rocky. Even a much better/popular democrat would still be a dice role. And will be going into the future. My main worry is you can't keep the GOP out of the white house for ever and boy, do they have some plans for the next psycho they get in the office.

Was about to say the same thing. Republicans have been getting electorally thrashed since the midterms because they mobilized a lot of people against them (especially young people and women). With Trump not having nearly the same pull he had in 2016, being ever more judicially cornered, his potential replacements being inept weirdos with no charisma and the current push for unionization, Republicans are pretty weakened for 2024.
I'm a 68yo child of Polish WWII refugees who were fervently anti-Communist and very right wing. I wouldn't have described them as fascist at all, after all, they were the victims of Nazi fascism, and were relieved to have escaped it. I grew up eventually to become gay left-liberal, and support all these nasty "woke" policies such as tolerating ethnic, sexual, economic and social diversity. Live and let live, and let the law protect the most vulnerable. The closest I've come, in the UK in those 68 years, to the situation I see now, was Enoch Powell and his "rivers of blood" speech. He was a really nasty racist, but the UK recovered from him. I've been watching the situation in the US with growing alarm. The Republican de facto leader, Trump, is growing increasingly deranged, but even if he self-destructs or gets struck down by the lawsuits he's facing, he's sown the seeds for other would-be fascists. Maybe DeSantis won't be the one stepping into his shoes, but there are plenty of others who would like to. In the UK, I listened to the recent Tory rat-fest with dismay increasing daily. Each speech was nuttier than the last, and Rishi Sunak the PM was unable to inspire any hope of change. Apparently, the lack of progress over the 13 unlucky years of Tory rule was Labour's fault. As a rule of thumb, the more a politician talks of change, the less he/she intends to implement any. I wouldn't call Sunak fascist, he's far too wealthy and as was put here, his sole ideology is money. But he's willing to go along with anyone who will help him increase his wealth. The turn the Tories took here was decisive, and trans folk, and soon by extension all gay folk, will be the new Jews in an intended Tory fascist Nirvana. It won't stop with sexual minorities, either. I don't think the Brits will descend to a Holocaust, but the would-be immigrants/refugees are likely to be only the first to be sent to the Rwanda concentration camps, because that's what they are. Sure, currently that forced move to Rwanda has been blocked by the courts, but senior Tories are actively seeking to leave the ECHR, and by-pass UK courts. They aren't stymied yet, this is just a temporary setback. Still, I don't see this as a problem for the immediate future, unlike the US where next year could see a Republican resurgence, because Biden is just too bloody old. Tories aren't yet so far gone along the road to fascism to be able to cancel the next election on the grounds of some purported "national emergency." They'll lose to Labour, and the worst excesses the Tories propose hopefully won't happen, not immediately, anyway. But, if Starmer keeps to the same economic policies and attitudes to Brexit as the Tories have, and he's not said anything much about doing anything differently so far, things may not improve much if at all, may even get worse, then the Tory descent into fascist populism might goad a shattered electorate into returning them in another landslide in 2029. If Labour fail, that's going to be a turning point. I likely either won't be around to see that, or too gaga to care, but a lot of you will. My advice would be to get politically active to force Labour (if you are in England or Wales, SNP if in Scotland) to actually change the policies that are causing the economic woes, and get rapprochement with the EU, if not yet an actual re-entry. With a fascist America on our doorstep, the UK will not be far behind. There's strength in unity, but never if you try to unite with fascists, because you'll always get knifed in the back.
New Labour is the problem here. And it is a shame that neither you nor matey here can bring yourselves to admit that fact. Although the Overton Window was cited. What else can we expect when a supposed Labour leader is a knight of the realm? What else can we expect but fascism when the likes of Blair and Starmer are themselves borderline fascists. Remainers have split this country in half more than Thatcher could ever dream of. You talk about uniting with fascists. Blair put Michael Howard's face on a flying pig on the 2005 General Election posters. Other posters also cast Howard as Fagin with the caption "I can spend the same money twice.". THAT'S FASCISM. Pure and simple. What else can we expect but fascism when real left wingers are purged en masse - including a lot of Jewish people; many of them pensioners - and genuine left wing politics is denigrated and labelled extremist by fascist types in government, the media, in business, and even in The Labour Party itself?
What was inflected on your parents in the name communism was actually more similar to fascism than it as to communism, so it's hardly surprising that their antifascism was also anti-communist.
@@BayesTheorem78 The fallacy is itself a fallacy: I am a Scotsman... who speaks with an English accent and was born and brought up in England. Am I a Scotsman if I call myself one? Could I be a Scotsman if I was from Mongolia? I If I changed my name to Bayes Theorem and did bad things, would you be responsible? Calling me Bayes Theorem the Scotsman does not make me such, and calling state capitalism socialism does not make it socialism. It's painting nationalism red: It's a lie. Of course, there was no true capitalism in the Middle Ages, but now it's everywhere. Everything has a definition, and what doesn't meet the definition is not that thing. Communist society is a society which has overcome the division into classes, economic competition and coercion in the labour process and the distribution of wealth, with no hierarchy, work voluntarily to our abusing the means of production owned by all humanity and take what we need without restriction no bossing or police, and no domination of anyone by anyone. A communist society could not even conceivably have a government, but a temporary government aiming for communism would be based on the power of the working class would aim to maximise freedom, equality and solidarity and maximise the democratic self-government of the community and -management of three workers. It's priority would always be to defend workers' power. The ONLY way to make this feasible in any given country is to count on a worldwide workers' revolution. This is not compatible with disempowering the workers as much as possible or with crushing and discouraging revolutions and siding with any kind of capitalist government, least of all an authoritarian one, against its working class, or with colonialism or imperialism.
The recent vote to vacate McCarthy was another interesting example of sorting the hardcore true believers from the cynical opportunists. It's very fun to see the dynamics of how those two clash. They don't have any actual disagreement other than how best to be evil.
It's just the natural par the course, given that their entire ideology is structured around a dog-eat-dog mentality, whereby cannibalism is the only true option for survival. In contrast, the liberals do have a sense of solidarity towards one another, so they will provide support even to someone they dislike or disagree with. Once a Republican falls, they fall very hard and their only safety net to not do so is to keep convincing others that someone else is simply less deserving.
Given that modern fascists don't even have any economic plans like their forebearers, it holds true that fascism ruins everything it touches, even fascism.
Honest question because I really, really want to understand the use of the word better and I really, really suck at understanding political and economic terms because they don't feel practical and tangible. It's just a shortcoming I have, but I really want to understand it better. So I'm not asking for a definition. I have looked up definitions and watched videos explaining it and it just doesn't stick in my brain very well. Some things do, but not enough to use the word and explain well why I use the word and what I mean. What do _you_ mean when you say fascist in the context of your comment, or this video, or any other context you prefer explaining your views? To give you an idea of how well or poorly I understand the term: I don't get any further than supremacy and bigotry. But I know it's a lot more than that. I understand that a form of nationalism and desire for conquering are involved. And I don't even know if any of that is a requisite or correct. I understand things way better when they explain what something means to them than when I hear a clinical explanation.
@@stylis666Fascism is the wholesale rejection of democracy and liberalism. It is not merely an endorsement of rightwing violence, but a gleeful, shameless embrace of it. Fascism can also be described as what happens when capitalists apply colonial methods of control to their own society instead of a foreign land. For example, the Kaiserreich, immediate predecessor of the third reich, did things in German Africa between the 1880s and 1903-4, that are instantly recognizable as genocide to those of us who live in the post-WWII world. And they certainly weren't the first or last European capitalists to commit such atrocities.
@@stylis666 Hi. When people say fascist, they typically mean something that fits the characteristics of fascism, either partly or fully. Typically an authoritarian government intent on controlling its own people, with policies that heavily favour some classes in detriment of others that are made out to be the enemy (whether that be Jewish people, trans people, ‘communists’, etc), with heavy emphasis on nationalism and military culture as well as the use of religion as part of the regime, bringing it into the government. When people say fascism, they’ll usually mean someone that supports policies or act in ways that would fit the common characteristics of fascism, of which there are usually around 14 (as defined by Lawrence Britt, 2003 on his paper “Fascism, Anyone?”). So when someone is proposing, say, heavily homophobic ideology and trying to pass anti gay laws in congress, and people call them fascist, that’s because us vs. them logic, sexism, and religion in government are common characteristics of fascism. People won’t always be talking about the same characteristics specifically (I.e we’re not necessarily calling someone sexist every time we call them a fascist, we might be talking about one of the other characteristics). These characteristics are: 1. Powerful and continuing nationalism 2. Disdain for the recognition of human rights. 3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause 4. Supremacy of the military 5. Rampant sexism 6. Controlled mass media 7. Obsession with National Security 8. Religion and government are intertwined 9. Corporate power is protected 10. Labour power is suppressed 11. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts 12. Obsession with crime and punishment 13. Rampant cronyism and corruption 14. Fraudulent elections Now, you don’t need to fall into all 14 of these to be a fascist. But these were characteristics common to many prominent fascist regimes, such as Hitler’s, Mussolini’s, Franco’s and Pinochet’s. These characteristics are visible in the American right’s ideology and actions, right down to the 13th point, and they tried to achieve the 14th too. Fascism is characterised by authoritarian policies that seek to control their own people, and is deeply based on an ideology that paints the world as “us vs. them” so that people are afraid and thus obedient to the government and willing to participate in the atrocities often perpetrated by these regimes. With Hitler, the Jews were “them”, with the modern American right it’s often trans people and LGBTQ people in general, Jewish people, black people, it varies depending on the exact flavour of fascist we’re talking about. In the context of this video, this is what we’re talking about. These people walk and talk like fascists, their proposals usually fall into one of the characteristics above. So yeah, they’re openly acting like fascists. I know you said you don’t like clinical explanations but I urge you to read Dr. Britt’s paper or at the very least a summary of it, you can find those around. Have a good day.

I personally think they're going mask off too soon and the general population will eventually put them in their place, but we shouldn't underestimate the threat. Conservatism has always a precursor to fascism. Fascist is not an ideology, it's simply a coalition of monarchists, military elites, landlords, capitalist corporations and church as a reactionary resistance to the Bolshevik revolution in Russia spreading westward. Fascists believe that communism and socialism can take over through democracy, therefore they overthrew democratically elected governments like Spain, Chile etc. replacing them with authoritarian police states

Conservatives and fascists have the same goal to maintain (conserve) hierachical structures either because it benefits them or because they assign religious or moral value to them even while getting shafted by them. Democracy is not needed to maintain these power structures so they are only democratic when their candidates or policies win, otherwise they have no use for it.
I hope you know just how stupid this idea of conservatives being fascists is here are actual facts conservatism is based on a belief in limited government, individualism, traditionalism, republicanism, and limited federal governmental power in relation to U.S. states. here’s the definition of fascism Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition you see the difference you alt left strawmen try to make it look like communism is isn’t extreme when it is here’s the actual things that make a communist government The communist state is the dictatorship of the proletariat, where the advanced elements of the proletariat are the ruling class. As a vanguard party, the communist party guides the political education and development of the working class (proletariat). As a ruling party, the communist party exercises power through the dictatorship of the proletariat. which disproves all of your points about communism being good while fascism is bad both communism and fascism are bad and extreme.
Trump definitely shifted that Overton of the Republican party and the conservative movement further right. Since he's been out of office, it's gone even further right evidenced by how even he has noted that conservatives are caring about things they previously didn't care much about it. It just goes to show how much more susceptible to extremes conservatives are as oppsed to people who hold left of center positions. The US Democratic party's Overton Window has shifted mildly left, with the Republicans that shift has been much further right.
In American politics, a "far left" politician is one willing to consider a slightly higher rate of income tax for people who earn half a million dollars or more per year.
Conservative ideology is a spectrum that consists of the four continuums Centrist ideology -> ideological Conservatism -> Nationalistic ideology -> Fascistic ideology. The reason I use a "->" is that Conservative ideology is an emotional belief system and emotional belief systems always intensify over time. Usually, this process is measured in generational time where a person will start one one spot and then move a little right the older they get while the next generation will start there. If people lock themselves in an echo chamber, like Fox News or The Daily Wire, then this process is sped up dramatically and they'll in a short amount of time take a massive leap, as evidenced by The Daily Wire. The initial videos on there were "just ideological Conservative trash and then over time they took a more Nationalistic ideological approach and now they're showing a Fascistic ideology.
okay maybe actually do research instead of allowing a extremist tell you what conservatives are centrist is being neutral or in the middle so stop with this nonsense
@@tristanmctarsney This is my own research based on the theories by Gary Kielhofner, and George Lakoff. No one has told me anything and I'm most likely the only person on the Earth who can explain it this in-depth. There can only be a Center if you see things from a Left/Right perspective. By seeing political standpoints in a Progressive ideology/Conservative ideology perspective there's no room for a center and Centrist ideology has to be either in the spectrum of Progressive ideology or Conservative ideology and since Centrist ideology shares far more behavioural traits with the other continuums in the spectrum of Conservative ideology at a lower intensity, it's a Conservative ideology.

1920s-30s Fascism was reactionary in that its economic policy was simply a response to the social ills of the great depression and to mitigate the damage to not impact the dominant/base of the fascist popular support. If one looks at 80s Neoliberal economic policy, it is simply "Less government intervention". There is no ideological economic platform besides "The status quo of government intervention in the economy is too high". There is no end point where a Neoliberal/Libertarian can say "Yes, we are content", the only answer is "less government". Meaning that no matter to what degree the government is involved, it's always too much. In this sense, contemporary American conservativism is in line with economic policy of the fascists since 1920s-30s were only using the optics of economic ideology to gather popular support from their base (regardless of how big it actually is/was, the fascist simply need to hit enough of them to get enough support in the elections to seize power). The same is true for a lot of right wing influencers. John Doyle only has a high school education. Glenn Beck dropped out of high school. Tim Pool dropped out before ever getting to high school. Yet in their minds, it lends to their credibility, because they weren't "indoctrinated by liberal institutions."
Fascism is more than just racism, sexism, etc. It's a bizarre amalgamation of those things, "traditional values," neo-paganism (disguised as conservative Christianity more often than not), economic populism, and extreme patriotism compelled by state terror. I'd argue that the Republican party today exemplifies the cultural aspects of that mindset, but not the political ones. I still believe the GOP believes in democracy, even if it's a democracy that privileges them more than most.
Agree with this video my only point of disagreement is @2:46 where you said all the polling shows Trump beating Biden - this isn't true. The average shows Biden with a slight edge or in some cases tied. But I agree Biden is not the right candidate for this moment.
i totally agree! even though some polls do show trump with an edge, obamas polling against mitt romney looked similar in 2011 and 2012. if he and trump both live through next november, i have no doubt biden will win
It's very common for challengers to lead the incumbent by a few points. Same with Reagan and Mondale and Reagan crushed Mondale. I know no one here is the biggest Biden fan. I'm not. He's too old and not left enough. However, I feel what gives Republicans a very good chance is that Democrats aren't officially on board backing the one person who can beat him. Meanwhile, ALL Republicans are on the Trump train. The stakes are too high. Even AOC and Bernie have his back for 2024. It's not about Biden. It's about protecting democracy.
Nice quip at Sabine Hossenfelder :) I have to thank her for some things though. They pushed me back here. I have been subscribed to your channel for quite some time because of your views on politics and economics, but I'm so shit at understanding half the things you're saying, or any politics or economics on the large scale. Your video responding to Hossenfelder's video about capitalism has taught me a lot (from my perspective of knowing jack sh@t) and made me look at economics and politics in a different way. A way I can understand. A somewhat smaller scale where I can see public rhetoric being normalized in public and encouraging or discouraging certain behaviour. So, I've been looking around a little and learning some stuff and I'm happy I did. I understand how capitalism is fundamentally unhealthy because it encourages growth without regard of anything that doesn't encourage more growth and that inhibits long term devlopment that might decrease of slow growth for the benefit of long term benefits in well being, that would even benefit economic growth, which is why I never saw capitalism as super bad. After all, if you do it right you'd invest in long term plans. I was so wrong. Our metrics to measure such growth can't exist because our economies don't exist for that long, so it was ideological extrapolation on my part. And more than that, everything I have ever said is good about capitalism is absolutely not capitalism. That realization made me look differently at arguments for and against capitalism and I found that every argument that would prevent (a) harm from capitalism is not capitalism and is discouraged by it. Or actually somewhat encouraged in the sense that it buys it some time when poor excuses are generally, and falsely accepted to be arguments for capitalism, which apparently is the world we live in. So I still know f#ck all about economics and even about capitalism. If my knowledge about it grew with 1000%, that's great improvement, but I started with roughly 0.000000000000000000000001%. So rounded down to the nearest billionth of a percent of what's to know about economics, I went from knowing nothing to still knowing nothing, but I at least know when I'm using my voice to maintain it with poor excuses and I can't do that anymore. I want happy people, and we live on a planet we are symbiotic with and capitalism is intrinsically abusive and dysfunctional to our planet and all life on and in this planet. It's parasitic and inherently exploitative. That inevitably discourages the social, intellectual, and even genetic diversity and encouragement to grow we so desperately need. But anyway, that's how superficially I understand economics and politics. And I don't learn a lot from most of your videos because you seem to expect from your audience that they understand most of what you're talking about. So I'll be dropping in and out of watching your videos while also looking around to learn more. I also don't read books. So I am at the mercy of people who do read those books to tell me their thoughts and I'll spend a great deal of my time thinking about it. I could write some books! But I'm glad other people who also read books and are better at writing do that. One book I can definitely recommend is from Rutger Bregman and I don't know the English title. It's probably something like Most People Are Good/Decent. it talks about how people are actually not this barbaric species with a thin layer of civilization as most (especially powerful) people paint it, but that the evidence shows quite the opposite and has shown this for millennia. Not that I've read it. In ~10 weeks I read about 40 pages of a ~600 page book and for me it's mostly a feast of recognition. I think a lot. I have my strong suits. Analyzing intuition and human well being and such in philosophical ways that are also pratical to people around me is one of them. So, long term thinking is something I encourage, and I love taking a step back and looking at the bigger pictures in various contexts, but economics and politics are still a bit of a mystery to me. it's easier for me to understand history in the context of general sentiment in populations and people. I also think that the "great" thinkers in history haven't had such a great impact at all and that it was just an inevitable reaction to the general sentiment of populations, big and small. Any "great" thinker of any time could've never existed and someone else would've filled that place because the general sentiment of a group they were part of grew toward filling that gap. It's what we do :) It's what makes us great: cooperation works. I don't have to be great at economics, because other people are. I just want to know more so I know what the feck I'm talking about and so I can explain and ground my position better. TL;DR This post was allover the place and I don't expect anyone to read it or care. It's more a personal story of my short comings than anything else. It can be inspiring to read other people's stories and you don't have to. Do it if you feel like it :) Besides, it gave me a chance to think it over, so even if no one reads it or if the entire internet gets deleted it was still worth it for me and it will be a part of me and what I do :) But if you read this, you at least know why I don't write books :p I would need a lot of help structuring and sticking to a topic :D To me everything is connected and I have a really hard time separating the layers sometimes. I can explain why capitalism is a natural phenomenon that emerged from our physics :p Like slavery and genocide by the way, so don't take that as encouragement :p But yeah, free will isn't a requisite for choice, information is, so take that for what you will :)
Polls in the USA are not the most accurate indicator as most polls are to land lines and that often are the older people who tend to vote more conservative… also it’s still a year away… I have also seen polls where Biden is winning…
Also got to make sure the polls take the college into account. The Republicans haven't won the popular vote in a presidential election since Bush II, and then only because the 9/11 attack came at the right time for him to ride the patriotic wave. But the US doesn't decide presidential elections by popular vote.
The polls don't show that Trump would beat Biden. They show that more people think of Trump as their first choice. But all of the people in between would vote Biden, not Trump. Trump would get stomped, just like last election.
Don't need to be informed about the sociopolitcoeconomics of the world, just need to be rich and you get to sit around spitballing policies with world leaders. It's fucking insane.
I was thinking precisely the thought expressed in your description when I was listening to Burchert, the I Am The Main Character representative from Tennessee who "just wants to be heard" but also "if you don't run Congress the way he wants you obviously weren't listening". The nut jobs in Congress _are_ the minority of their own party yet they call all the shots because they've prevented that party from forming coalitions across party lines. It's nuts.
This is a good time to brush up on Antonio Gramsci's "morbid symptoms” in fascist Italy: “The crisis consists precisely in the fact that the old is dying and the new cannot be born; in this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear.” He was critiquing the ultra left turn of the Italian Communist party, but it's applicable to America today. If the ruling class has lost its consensus, i.e., is no longer “leading” but only “dominant,” exercising coercive force alone, this means precisely that the great masses have become detached from their traditional ideologies, and no longer believe what they used to believe previously, etc.
"As a rule, large capitalists are Republicans and small capitalists are Democrats, but workingmen must remember that they are all capitalists, and that the many small ones, like the fewer large ones, are all politically supporting their class interests, and this is always and everywhere the capitalist class."
At the introduction of his America Con (or whatever it was called), Charlie Kirk openly disdained the idea of actual policy, and said instead he was trying to promote patriotism and good vibes about America.
15:30 I can't believe that you didnt pull up that clip of Walsh at Joe Rogan, where Rogan factchecks him in real time and you can see his soul leave his body
Great video! I just want to pick up on one thing: Jordan Peterson and probably Elon Musk do seem to be psychotic, in the sense that they are delusional and can't engage easily with reality at this point, but psychosis itself is usually more harmful to the psychotic individual than to anyone else. I think the way you used the word psychotic at the end of the video would be better substituted by "psychopathic" or "sociopathic". It's just, there's a risk of stigmatising marginalised people otherwise. I'm also aware that right now I'm the person on the sidelines who hasn't made YT videos in years griping about what may seem to be a minor point, and I know how annoying I used to find those people. I love your stuff BTW.
Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk are theorized to have handlers, that is, people controlling them behind the scenes who have leverage over them. We've seen this with Jeffrey Epstein, the man had video cameras in every room of his mansion, and those videos were being sent to lawyers to be used as leverage making Epstein a power broker of sorts. It doesn't make sense that Prince Phillip would throw his entire life away for SA he was promised political favors in return and now those chickens have come home to roost. Elon Musk had a relationship with Epstein that he publicly lied about, and the most popular theory with Jordan Peterson is that his Russian "detox" center was actually a brainwashing center that his handlers made him go to. Through his prostitute daughter, Peterson has ties to children's-entertainer -cum-secret-homosexual Andrew Tate, who himself has ties to the CIA and Peter Thiel, who cofounded PayPal, the world's most "disruptive" banking app, alongside with Elon Musk another cofounder of PayPal.
As the old joke says: Rich people are never insane, only eccentric. Mental illness is not /as/ severe a problem with your are filthy rich. You can indulge whatever weird delusions and compulsions you have, and not be judged. Go and build yourself a fortress in the desert if you fear the end of the world. Or a weird playland where you can pretend to be a child.
Except Peterson's behavior does not match psychopathy or ASPD's description, at all. Just as easily, it could be said that putting that (wrong) label on him stigmatizes those people.
@@theseeker7692 how does his profile differ? I'm open to some extent to the tendency to view some dyssocial people in a positive light but my abusive father, who had that diagnosis due to his contact with law enforcement, was someone I struggled for decades to see any redeeming virtues in. They existed to some extent but from a personal perspective it just seems he left a trail of ruined lives behind him wherever he went. OTOH, one of our family was instrumental in developing the defibrillator, and he did that by giving recently hanged corpses electric shocks, which I don't think he could've done had he not been dyssocial, so I agree there's some value in that perspective.
I do agree, Jordan Peterson's mental (and physical) deterioration make it hard to classify him as a true fascist. It does not make this drug addled psychopath any less dangerous unfortunately
@@theseeker7692 Not at all. Jordan Peterson has ginned up violence against people he opposes by calling doctors "butchers", harassing trans people, including children and promoting a world view that denies Civil Rights to Black Americans. He is a psychopath. Whether this is the result of his natural personality, a quest for money or complications from his declining mental health and drug addictions may be an open question but none of it would negate my description.
I like to keep tabs on what progressives and conservatives are saying. I want to keep government and all entities as small and competitive as possible to reduce the likelihood of authoritarianism. I don’t like socialism/communism or fascism bc both devolve into dictators killing millions of people throughout history. Having big government is great when “you’re in control” but not so great when the other guys get in. So I’d just like it to be minimal. But seeing how my DSA friends are afraid of guns (unlike the communists of old), the bigger issue to me rn is national socialism / fascism and the boogie boys. They’re like sleeper agents and have this weird desire for a big daddy dictator to tel them what to do and destroy “degenerates” which is like. 100 years ago have we not learned any lessons?
I literally just had a conversation where someone conflated capitalism with literally all economic transaction. When I said "capitalism isn't trade," their response was basically "if you say so," and when I explained that gift/sharing economies had a longer history than trade-based economies, they then went on the "people misuse capitalism to mean a specific implementation of a system" train to la-la-land. To which my response, of course, was "capitalism is a term that was invented to mean a specific type of system." It's infuriating that people have been so brainwashed by capitalists that they'll simultaneously criticize capitalism for all the harm it does while defending it from anyone who says "we probably shouldn't do that anymore" because they can't comprehend anything else. We talked about democracy and their answer for why "Tragedy of the Commons" is the reality of human economics is "my intuition" and "personal experience." Explaining that the concept only describes certain situations that typically happen under capitalism didn't mean anything to them because of their "capitalism is human economics" beliefs, and "my personal experience showed me everything I need to know about why democracy doesn't work in the large scale...but no, I don't have any examples of democracy on any scale at all, just my intuition based in personal experiences of 'not democracy.'" They can criticize the behaviors and incentives and consequences of capitalism, but they can't free themselves from the cult of capitalism or its brainwashing.

Even on insta... especially on x from what I hear... lol unreliable... 2... certain words might be banned in kavs comment section. To ask Biden not run against Trump is to hand the presidency to Trump. Even if Biden polls poorly there is no one else that is even close. What a silly take.
It's also blatantly false that Biden is polling worse than trump. He's basing that off one outlier poll over a year away from the election. He's also forgetting about the newly registered young voters who are sick of the fascists, mass shootings and the hatred of the right. Saying that Biden will lose this far out is supreme idiocy.

The reason divorcees suddenly become more fascist is because they need to distract themselves from their personal drama, and they can blame an outside force (usually Jewish people).

I hope you didn't take that outlier poll that showed trump up by 10 points seriously. Even the people who published the poll pointed out the issues it had
Unironically, Kavernacle in this video essay gives very good tips for fascists how to run much more effective authoritarian goverment and how to bend democracy to their will more efficiently.
Fascism is also dependent on the insecurities of males, especially young ones, especially white ones. The first thing that happens is that empathy is treated as a weakness, something unmanly. Once that precept is established, all else follows.

That's what every fascist believes, American fascists are just really bad at hiding it
It's as LBJ said: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket.

The bad guy!"

Victims of fascists can be fascists. Look no further than Israel.

I don't remember who said it, but..."Who needs an American Nazi Party when you have the American Republican Party?"
The recent vote to vacate McCarthy was another interesting example of sorting the hardcore true believers from the cynical opportunists. It's very fun to see the dynamics of how those two clash. They don't have any actual disagreement other than how best to be evil.
Nasty types can also be very nasty to each other :-D

Hi.
These characteristics are:
1. Powerful and continuing nationalism
2. Disdain for the recognition of human rights.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
4. Supremacy of the military
5. Rampant sexism
6. Controlled mass media
7. Obsession with National Security
8. Religion and government are intertwined
9. Corporate power is protected
10. Labour power is suppressed
11. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption
14. Fraudulent elections
Now, you don’t need to fall into all 14 of these to be a fascist.
Same would for communism to bro both ideology’s are bad

So just as America is showing how racist, classist, queerphobic, etc they really are (especially since being bigoted to one group usually means bigoted to all marginalized groups. It's never really "Oh, Kyle is racist to only black people regardless of their class", no it's "Kyle only gives whites the benefit of the doubt, views all non-whites and poor folk with suspicion, hates non-hetero normativity, and believes Christianity (or his religion) is the only true way and all others reflect a moral flaw of the practicing believer (or non-believer)"

"Mussolini was a mixed bag" wow so profound. Clearly Knowled has studied history and has deep insights. /s
Do it if you feel like it :)
Besides, it gave me a chance to think it over, so even if no one reads it or if the entire internet gets deleted it was still worth it for me and it will be a part of me and what I do :)
But if you read this, you at least know why I don't write books :p I would need a lot of help structuring and sticking to a topic :D To me everything is connected and I have a really hard time separating the layers sometimes. I can explain why capitalism is a natural phenomenon that emerged from our physics :p Like slavery and genocide by the way, so don't take that as encouragement :p
But yeah, free will isn't a requisite for choice, information is, so take that for what you will :)
First they came for the Jewish-adjacent, short king, far right, broadcaster, and I said nothing.
Divide and conquer this is very textbook conservatism it seems
Franco was pretry good
My Spanish dad who grew up in that time having traumatic flash backs
Franco was also terrible enough to the point multiple regions ended up with violent separatist movements and that his death was celebrated.
Because that's where the money is
The polls don't show that Trump would beat Biden.
Meeting all day so couldn’t watch this morning, so that being said, Afternoon Kav 😂👍
4:34 is anyone noticing the parallels between Elon and homelander here
@thekavernacle they do have an economic ideology. I would check out the heritage foundation's "Project 2025, a Mandate for Leadership."
It's nuts.
This is a good time to brush up on Antonio Gramsci's "morbid symptoms” in fascist Italy:
“The crisis consists precisely in the fact that the old is dying and the new cannot be born; in this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear.”
He was critiquing the ultra left turn of the Italian Communist party, but it's applicable to America today.
If the ruling class has lost its consensus, i.e., is no longer “leading” but only “dominant,” exercising coercive force alone, this means precisely that the great masses have become detached from their traditional ideologies, and no longer believe what they used to believe previously, etc.
Jesus Christ, this isn’t even quiet part out loud anymore 😔😡
Always great content with well considered opinions
"As a rule, large capitalists are Republicans and small capitalists are Democrats, but workingmen must remember that they are all capitalists, and that the many small ones, like the fewer large ones, are all politically supporting their class interests, and this is always and everywhere the capitalist class."
At the introduction of his America Con (or whatever it was called), Charlie Kirk openly disdained the idea of actual policy, and said instead he was trying to promote patriotism and good vibes about America.
'Vibes-based fascism'
Thumbs up and an additional comment to beat the algorithm. Thanks for the video! 👍🔥👍
15:30 I can't believe that you didnt pull up that clip of Walsh at Joe Rogan, where Rogan factchecks him in real time and you can see his soul leave his body
that was a glorious moment
Remember that Hitler was not defeated in a rap battle, and prepare accordingly.
Good video, the only thing I don't understand is why did you write "WATER IS WET" as the thumbnail text...
How much of it goes back to the slashed-up school budgets and clumsy knowledge of history or civics?
As a Spaniard, saying Franco was pretty good is legit crazy
Franco was "pretty good." LOLWUT
That's funny...Chevy Chase told me Francisco Franco was dead. Oh well, maybe his health improved in the meantime
28:28 Absolutely nailed it!
28:59 Capitalist Realism!
I like the parallel you draw between J Peterson and the emperor's new clothes. The dude is smart, but definitely needs some grounding.
I do agree, Jordan Peterson's mental (and physical) deterioration make it hard to classify him as a true fascist.
It does not make this drug addled psychopath any less dangerous unfortunately
Calling Peterson a psychopath is definitely pushing it
@@theseeker7692 Not at all.
30:00 1) go vegan 2) help collectively to transition away from fossil fuels (and animal agriculture)
Look forward to the weekend when I can get to compare Goebbels speeches with Peterson. That'll be fun.
Thanks !
We talked about democracy and their answer for why "Tragedy of the Commons" is the reality of human economics is "my intuition" and "personal experience." Explaining that the concept only describes certain situations that typically happen under capitalism didn't mean anything to them because of their "capitalism is human economics" beliefs, and "my personal experience showed me everything I need to know about why democracy doesn't work in the large scale...but no, I don't have any examples of democracy on any scale at all, just my intuition based in personal experiences of 'not democracy.'" They can criticize the behaviors and incentives and consequences of capitalism, but they can't free themselves from the cult of capitalism or its brainwashing.
brainwashing and all of this crap so your gonna claim communism is good every communist country alone killed 94 million people don’t downplay that
Do you think you will to go back to university for any other studies in politics later in life?
nah I think I'm done with University tbh

To ask Biden not run against Trump is to hand the presidency to Trump. Even if Biden polls poorly there is no one else that is even close. What a silly take.
It's also blatantly false that Biden is polling worse than trump. He's basing that off one outlier poll over a year away from the election. He's also forgetting about the newly registered young voters who are sick of the fascists, mass shootings and the hatred of the right. Saying that Biden will lose this far out is supreme idiocy.
Bernie was taken out by corporate media on purpose. He had taken 3 primaries untill corporate got terrified. Past this ment he would of taken nomination. When the "He is a communist" onslaught began. Democrat party is run by corporate donations like GOP. They don't want to pay taxes.

What is the difference, then, of a liberal and a leftist?
libs = pro-capitalism, pro-status quo, pro-imperialism
Leftists = Anti-capitalism
"What is a lib? A miserable little pile of capitalism. But enough talk have at you!"
Liberals are still in favor of hierarchy and consolidation of power.
They are moderate to center right.
They have a base in antartica,I saw that in my dreams, and rule our lives from there
The reason divorcees suddenly become more fascist is because they need to distract themselves from their personal drama, and they can blame an outside force (usually Jewish people).
You're an amazing creator, but hearing my personal thoughts aloud is uhm.. anxiety reeking, these were personal feelings, and I think because it's nazis the feeling only worsens by knowing others aren't blind.
I hope you didn't take that outlier poll that showed trump up by 10 points seriously. Even the people who published the poll pointed out the issues it had
