Alex, thank you for the quick turnaround on my order this past Saturday. I received a "Better than factory" packed order yesterday (Tuesday) as promised. Also thank you to Pops and Big Boss.
Thank you for showing how to read the schematic and board view, and then translate that into physical troubleshooting. I continue to learn a lot from watching your methods.
Not sure what I ❤about your work the most. You seem to know what to check and your happy when your right. OR the smile on your face where you made a successful repair seem as easy as tying shoes and you know you will have a happy customer. Awesome as always
Your work is excellent and your videos are a fantastic learning tool for techs everywhere. Makes me wish I was 30 years younger. The fact that you sell everything that a tech needs is revolutionary. I have an adult child that is looking for a new career with a future. Your videos and supplies will feature prominently in that education. Thanks for all your hard work.
OMG !!! Went to community college early 80's for electronics tech. Had no idea that the miniaturization of electrical components would result in using electronic microscopes and FLIR cameras to troubleshoot, so cool !! Wonder if there would be a market for some type of laser probe device to take measurements rather than a physical metal probe, lol. Can't wait to see how we fix nano computers, or maybe like everything else, they will be disposable too ???
Enjoyed watching this start to finish with an easy repair. As one just starting to learn, I've seen quite a few on chasing down faults, were the video ends without repair, because the "expert" can't fix it, (at least not during the video). It's disheartening and makes me not want to even continue trying to fix my issue which may be minor. Since I don't know enough on how to fix it, and the expert can't do it, why should I try? Thanks for the encouragement to keep learning.
EXCELLENT !!!!! IT SEEMS I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MACBOOK PRO TURNS ON AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE SCREEN GOES BLACK. THE COMPUTER STILL ON BUT NO SCREEN. WOW !!!!! EXCELLENT VIDEO. HOW MUCH FOR THIS REPAIR ? I JUST ORDER ANOTHER REFURBISHED MACBOOK PRO 2017, BUT I WOULD LIKE THIS ONE TO BE REPAIRED.
Have 2 admit i do prefer ur videos showing schematics, i find it more informative 2 see the board along with the drawing, for a beginner like me learning, it helps location and identification, excellent
The video was fantastic, clear, and concise-excellent work. For those without access to a thermal camera and voltage injector, would starting by measuring the resistance across each capacitor be simpler? This method was used at the end to identify the faulty component. Thanks again for the great content!
That thermal camera image was so clear! Have you changed cameras recently, Alex? In the past, it's been very hard to identify what component on the board is giving off heat.
What amazing tools he has ...OMG.. the quality of that thermal camera " excuse me for the vibrations , I'm holding the camera with my hand" are you joking!!! Looks like military equipment Amazing the quality of the microscope as well
I do a lot of repairs on my own time. Macs still need patience with. I do as a hobby. Not gonna breakfast a MacBook and $$ out of my pocket. Lov❤Mac’s. But they can be a pain to work on.
I need a multimeter model that gives two types of beep in the continuous mode, continuous beep is there is a continuity, and small beep if there is a reading
my god I get so many of these 2016 and up MacBooks with bad backlight, and the backlight fuse is ALWAYS OK!! unlike the a1466 airs. I may look into trying to these myself rather than always send them out.
Hi! I have the A2485 emc 3651 with the same problem? Can I fix this problem following this video? Or Do I need find something diferent to fix it? Thanks
Hello dear friend, I am writing from Turkey. My computer, model number Macbook Pro A2289, fell to the ground and the topcase part was bent. When I first turned on the computer, there was an image on the screen, then the screen backlight went off. When I asked for repair, they said that it could not be done, so I ordered a topcase and screen backlight cable from China. The backlight and camera are not working. All other functions are active. When I disassembled the computer and checked it, I could not see any damage to the screen backlight flex. I wonder if the problem is in the LCD or the motherboard. I would be very happy if you could inform me. There is an image on the LCD, but the backlight and camera are not working.
5 cent component takes out a whole laptop, and Apples "solution" would have been to replace the whole motherboard - which would have been uneconomic. Almost criminal.
Just like any manufacturer, an authorized service center may suggest a replacement of the motherboard. This isn't just about Apple. Nobody repairs motherboards except places like in the video.
Hi Alex, nice video as always. I see on background on your desk a desktop motherboard, is it for repair or just for testing? if it's for repair can you pls do a video on those type of motherboards diagnostic? Thanx.
@@philipershler420 Well yeah I do get that, I was hoping to get more of a list/suggestions of what are common causes to this problem as I suppose someone here has some more experience than I do; I want to get into repairing myself so won't be of much help to me to send it to some other repairshop
well if you want to begin, then use electronic trouble shooting tips just shown here by Alex, the problem trouble shooting always starts with power supply to the said part not working, if that is ok move on to the part itself, like LED screen board or control board, for fast trouble shooting you will need tools that Alex has.
@@rizkhan3368 Thanks for the tips, I don't have all of the equipment Alex has, but I did order some basic equipment to get started with microsoldering. I have some of the equipment he has, just lower quality/generic brands so might not be as reliable and good but I hope they'll do the job, no thermal camera though so will have to use some other technique, got some ideas though! I will also need to order whatever components are dead
Man, I have an error 43 with my Windforce 1070 and i didn't find on the internet anybody who has the same issue: After the code 43 i notice 2 capacitors missing close to the bios chip -- witch seems to be 0.1uf 16v. i replaced these capacitors with ones of the same size. flashed the bios with an external flash programer. The card works, but just for one boot, them im back to code 43. Can anyone help me?
I have like a quight same problem with my 2011 Macbook Pro A1286. It did have a GPU issue, i temporarily fixed that. And i got kernal fail or something. Well what happened is that i slammed in the middle of the keyboard and i heard 3 beeps. Then, i put the ram back in (they kept falling out) And turned it on. And i heard the boot chime, i could turn up the volume i heard it, i tried different ram, didnt work i tried to plug in an external display, didnt work. So its probably the stupid AMD GPU.
The joy on his face after successful repair! Priceless! Great job!

You know what I like, your victory smile after you got it , great job
Yeah, that one's priceless you can't buy it anywhere 😊

Loving the simple quick repair
Simple for him, not for us

Amazing job. Great work. Incredible 14mins-lesson with alex. I love that. Your explainings are perfect. Thank you for that, greets
Using the Diagrams gives a better understanding for viewers.
Once again, you've helped me repair another device. Thank you.

Cool! 1st time I've seen you use a board diagram/schematic. Good job sir!
this was a really cool repair. I really enjoyed you showing the schematics and board diagram

Accurate as always, but this time more accurate using diagrams and schematics of MacBook...
Thank You
Do you have the part number? I have the same issue and am wanting to take it on myself!
Morning Sir Alex!!
i think you did not disconnect the battery terminal is held with flat head screw ,that small ribbon is for SMBUS only .

legend fix, well done how fast you found the fault
Pregunta , el valor en diodos es 1200 y no tengo tensión que podría ser ?
Is it possible to just put a meter on the capacitor and if it does not give the correct voltage can we determine that is the bad capacitor ?
How can I desolder really tiny smd components? the hot air nozzle seems too big for them . . I mean really small smd caps and resistors?
ACER Travelmate series, the touchscreen one has this issue too...
I literally jumped with joy when i saw the back light back on!!😅😅😅
That board view sure makes thing nice. Super fast
Great job Alex
Hello, how I can check the condensator at home ?
Der absolute Wahnsinn ! 💖👍👍👍
Hi master i have a problem with a macbooknpro 1286 2012 please tlle mt when star to chek?
i knew to skip the part on the schematics, the voltage injection tool is best way to find faulty part
How much do you charge for this?
Hi! I have the A2485 emc 3651 with the same problem? Can I fix this problem following this video? Or Do I need find something diferent to fix it? Thanks
what was the amp current when you incjekt the voltage ?
Good job sir
How can I get the links to download the schematics and boad view. Of all macs models
Great work love watching these videos
I have this issue with my 2019. I have ruled out all possible software issues. What does this repair cost of if I were to send it your way?
How much is this fix I may need this done asap
Great job. Very useful information thank you
Brilliant video as always mate
i have a question, when you measured volt on that first chip, where do you ground to? Just the chassi of the laptop or?
feels good to see old tech that are dead come back to life saving the enviroment.
Do you have a link to the capacitor you used for this repair on your store?

5c for the component, 100$+ for replacement.

I actually bought hot air solder station because of this guy😂
You are the best my friend
as soon as you flip the cap over clearly see a big crack in it.
what voltage do you inject?
That cap is cracked, you can clearly see that at 9:50.
