As someone who doesn't use phone cases, Magsafe is like magic for things like car mounts. Not having to have any crap attached to the phone to attach it to things is just awesome
As an aside, there are magsafe compatible cases for iphones (as mentioned in the video), so you don't have to go caseless to take advantage of magsafe.

I also got myself a MagSafe tripod to - among other things - film my friend’s band. However, with the 13’s added stability, i might just need to hold it. Thanks for the content!

I’ve had a MagSafe iPhone for years without using the feature. I’ve just changed my iPhone 14 Pro case to a clear ESR MagSafe one. It has a really strong magnet and makes my phone look new! I found the quality of non licensed MagSafe charging products to be quite variable and not long lasting ie sometimes they just stop working intermittently after a few months. My Belkin stand (the tree) has been rock solid though. Esr also seems good so far with their battery pack.
After much research I purchased the Belkin 3 in 1 tree designed Masafe charger in blakc and I love it. I am just getting into Magsafe accesories after upgrading to a 15 Pro Max and now I know why Magsafe technology has become so popular!
the magsafe battery packs are more for being able to use your phone while the battery pack charges your phone up, and the stands are nice for if it's late at night, everything you have is low or dead, you just set it all on the stand and go to bed, wake up and everything is charged. The nice ones charge faster (qi2 or the faster apple watch charging protocol) so that if you need your watch for sleep tracking you can just leave it on for a few minutes and put it back on before sleep, and mine even has the apple watch part detachable for on the go charging in case I need to leave right away and my watch is low. I have the iPhone 15 so I can plug the charger right into my phone and charge the watch from the phone.
The only max safe accessory I really care about is the belgian max safe car mount and the portable magnetic battery charger. I've gotten tired and bored with the iphone. I've decided to preorder the z flip 5. I was pleased to find out that amazon offers cases with the magnets in them so I can continue to use the Magsafe accessories from my iPhone.
@@BobRossRightHand incorrect. The flip 5 case comes in 2 parts. The case that goes on the back when the phone is folded will have a circular magenta on it. That's all magsafe is my friend. A circular magnet.

I love the anker cube, but I don’t think it is a good travel charger. That thing is properly heavy and I wouldn’t want to lug around an extra half a kilo of a charging brick when a few cables will do. It is a great option for a desk though. The thing supports fast charging and I can charge three devices at once. Costs the same as the belkin and comes in a sleeker packaging.
The Belkin Charge Stand has been on my desk for the past year and I absolutely love it. I also own the Anker Cube and have traveled with it to several countries and states and it's holding up great with no issue.

Luckily I use a case so any phone can use magsafe accessories with a Mous or Dbrand case, just make sure the case is magsafe compatible and has good magnets. I don't wirelessly charge due to loss of efficiency and higher temps while charging but the accessories are nice, function and removable.
Got a nice case for my Pixel 8 that was only a few bucks, bought the magsafe rings, attached one to my case of the same color and it works great. Made my phone and it's cases magsafe compatible for about $15 for the magnets and a case.
With the release of Qi2, I’m finally buying into the MagSafe ecosystem. If I’m honest, when most MagSafe chargers were only capable of 7.5w, I saw it as a bit of a Gimick. Now with Qi2 (15w charging speeds), I think it will actually be quite beneficial to me.
The circular Belkin charger takes some effort to get it to stay standing, and the cord is kind of heavy and wants to pull the charger off the table. Oy. But it's only $19 and you can lay it flat if you don't want to bother with getting it to stand up. No regrets on that purchase. Very helpful video for someone like me who upgraded to MagSafe from an old iPhone.
I like my Apple Watch a lot, but I cannot stand that I can’t use Qi or MagSafe to charge it. It’s so inconvenient when traveling because I would much rather bring my MagSafe charger and not have to worry about my Apple Watch charger.
Which iPhone and size are you using to test the MagSafe battery banks ? I have a 15 Pro normal size and I would like to know if it will cover my camera or it will be ok
The peak design magsafe wallet is way better than the apple one. magnetic flap to hold your cards that when you pull on pulls all your cards up for easy access. It also has room for at least 100% more cards.
I agree the Peak Design is great! My only complaint is that the magnet is not very strong and the wallet detaches with minimal force. I contacted Peak Design customer service thinking it was a defective product but was told that it’s normal and not a design flaw and once I tested other MagSafe wallets with my phone I realized that it is indeed normal for MagSafe magnets to not be very strong.
I've only contemplated the Magsafe wallet because I want to minimize size as much as possible but still not sure if I trust it. Also, loved your diamond ring and band during the charging dock part.
It's reliable if you have a case on your phone. It sticks better to a case surface than the slippery glass back of the iPhone. Sadly, the hand and ring is my wife's. I wish I could rock something like that!
I absolutely love my Apple brand MagSafe wallet. It works great, and with the “found my” app, it tells you if it ever slides off (which it never does) and gives you that location where it happened. I rarely carry my wallet anymore. I carry my ID, one card, and a few bills that all fit easily. If I need more then I just carry a wallet as well, but that feels like a pretty rare instance
I used the magsafe battery (on sale for $75) and anker and the anker doesn’t work with mini phones well, it also gets very very hot. The apple one is much better at regulating heat between both the phone and battery pack. You can keep it in your pocket when using it. It’s worth the price jump if you find it for $75.
Thanks. Great. I'm traveling to ecuador w my new Iphone 15. Love it. Got belkin camera stand you show on 15. like it. Please:what usbc-3 charger do you recommend for fast charging ?
i use the belkin boost charger pro for a few weeks now. pros. - functionality great for everyday use - aesthetically nice and clean - travelling - easy to pack due to flatness cons. - pricey - travelling - a little heavy - travelling - needs plug for the power adaptor plus another travel adaptor for compatible outlet overall. - great for everyday use - can pass for a semi to less frequent traveller and dont mind a little bulk - if it proves to be durable (which by previous experience, belkin is) then it is worth it
Have used mag safe only since 2022. Had a work phone 13 pro for a year and gave it back at 100% battery health. Same thing with my 14 pro after 9 months when I quit that job. My personal 13 pro which has had little used, but right now after using it and charging it regularly since June of 2023 I am still at 100%. Apple figure out good wireless charging and it is nice. I used mag safe duo with the 30w charging brick that came with my MacBook.
I’m really excited for a second generation MagSafe battery pack. With no more mini iPhone the size should (hopefully) jump up to fit the 6.1” models, giving greater capacity. Plus I would expect USB-C. Helpful video since I will be upgrading from 11 :)
i feel like they can improve the battery technology instead of straight-up excluding the mini iPhones. sure, they didn’t sell very well but doing that would probably lead to a whole lot of third party products making their accessories far too big for the minis too. i also think that having twice the thickness of the iPhone 13 Pro would be really hard to hold.
The thing I love most about the MagSafe battery pack is that you can stick it in your pocket and not notice. There’s already tons of 3rd party options if you want a bigger MagSafe battery pack…
The MagSafe duo get yellow regardless of how much you use it. I don’t handle mine religiously, and it still got yellow and nasty. Get some covers for it if it bugs you though, they are affordable.
I’m dipping back into tech after being pseudo-semi off the grid for about a decade so I am not sure if that’s a common reference. But the “Mad Catz quality” label was such a perfect description of second party products at the height of the iRevolution
I don’t understand the point of mag safe charging. So I use a wired mag safe charger AND it’s slower than lighting port charging? Why wouldn’t I just use a traditional lightning cable if there is going to be a wired involved anyways?
My first video of yours. Now this is some unique tech channel and everything was perfect, scrolled some other vids of yours and I like that you really cover the wide spectrum of tech. No limited to just big name brands but all things tech. Instant SUB 👍🏻 keep it up g!
I've been using the UCOMX Nano 3 in 1 Wireless Charger for just over a year now and I am really happy with it. Yes, it is on the cheap side but for $30 it has been great. Every now and then you can hear a ringing but you have to be really close to it to hear it. I think I'm going to get the Anker cube next.
I've got a magsafe wallet and battery pack, only the latter is an Apple Official. I like the battery pack stops charging when the phone gets too warm, though it's a bummer it's capacity is so low. It's really just for charging your phone a bit when your out and need that extra juice... I might get a magsafe 3-in-1 charger for my desk later, though definitely not the expensive belkin one...
Talking about the no name Amazon brands is a great idea. I’ve heard about the Belkin 3-in-1 charger in multiple videos, but could never justify the price. The Amazon charger looks just as sleek without any branding and only costs a third of the price + the charging speeds are not a deal breaker for me.
I have the Stouchi mount. It’s very useful. I bought it as a continuity camera mount but I mostly use it as a kickstand and ring holder. I’ve had it for a few months and it still works like new.
Are the actual phone cases with magsafe magnetic or is it just a metal that magnets stick too? Would be dope if I can magnetically stick my phone using a magsafe case to any metal surface
You can get a MagSafe case for iPhone X and 11 I’ve been using it for my iPhone 11 and it works great just charges really slow takes about 2 hours to fully charge but good option to have.
I bought a stand from Best Buy for like $7 that holds a standard apple mag safe charger which works for me upside down on a shelf next to my bed, however sometimes I wish the magnets were stronger
I noticed that the camera is really close to the magnet on the 14 pro 6.1 iphone. Is it an issue with some magsafe accessories ? Is it possible, for exemple, to turn the iPhone on the Anker Macgo battery to use it as a stand to watch videos ?
I honestly will never go back to using my phone without my MagSafe pop socket. And I charge overnight on a not made for MagSafe charger and don't personally care that the speed is limited - for overnight charging I prefer it that way. Have been pretty much exclusively wirelessly charging my phones since my XR and have had zero problems. Also apples MagSafe battery bank is honestly great... overpriced but great. I bought a much cheaper (not MagSafe certified) one before I took the leap and only used it a couple times because it got HOT but have never had that issue with the apple one.
I love magsafe i have the apple battery pack and i put a silicone case on it with a magsafe ring on the back so i can put my apple wallet on the back. By 4pm the magsafe battery is dead and my phone is on 90% . I take the battery and put it in my car and just use the wallet on the phone for the rest of the day
@@Kingkop3It is the same quality as it is in the original iphone. Magsafe is just a magnetic attachment that secures wireless charger or wireless powerbank. It is not some faster and better quality wireless charging protocol
I'd say faster charging via actual MagSafe speeds is not worth it especially if you're trying to do overnight charging. You're better off with the slower speeds generating less heat and since you're sleeping through it anyways, it won't matter by the end of the night. I think it only really helps for MagSafe powerbanks, though the damage of the higher heat could potentially be worse for a portable battery pack. I just feel you're going to need to top up much quicker on the go, and if you're in a set place, you can always turn to wired charging. Currently using the Anker 633 with my S23+ (and previously on my S9 with an added ring). I got it early since it was one of the only reliable brands that had a MagSafe powerbank with a built-in stand on it. That stand makes it so much easier to prop up the phone to watch content on tables while eating out or just chilling in the office. I am considering getting a faster one and giving it to my dad rocking the 14 Pro Max, but one feature I'm looking for on top of faster speeds (to match Android's default Qi max) is the ability to just mount the phone without it charging wirelessly.
Hello! Thank you for the video, I really like that Stouchi ring mount/holder... however, I don't have a Macbook but I use an Asus Tuf Dash 15, has a thicker display (about 6 mm) than a Macbook. Could anyone who has the mount tell me the clearance for the display for the mount, if possible? I doubt that the mount will fit on my laptop...
Thanks for this. As silly as this sounds I can survive just of a MagSafe battery pack (Apple version). I use an iPad daily and so not a power phone user. Like the simplicity of it…. I finish most days with 20% to 30% on my 13 Mini and then just leave it on battery pack overnight and that’s enough for the next day

But it's only $19 and you can lay it flat if you don't want to bother with getting it to stand up. No regrets on that purchase. Very helpful video for someone like me who upgraded to MagSafe from an old iPhone.
I use Peak Design’s case/wallet. I find it is MUCH stronger than the phone magnet itself.
They also sell a bunch of different mounts: car, bike, etc.
Take a drink every time Jimmy says, 'actually'. (20 times)
I thought the same during editing. Actually, I removed a lot during editing 😉
I like my Apple Watch a lot, but I cannot stand that I can’t use Qi or MagSafe to charge it. It’s so inconvenient when traveling because I would much rather bring my MagSafe charger and not have to worry about my Apple Watch charger.
I like the Mac safe battery pack made by OtterBox because you can charge the battery pack with Mag safe or the USB-C port on the back
Which iPhone and size are you using to test the MagSafe battery banks ?
@@JimmyTriesWorldI just wanted to say. With some cases, Android phones can get access to magsafe. For example the maus case for the s23.
I’ve used the wallet for two years for an authentication token I need to access my workplace and it has been nothing but reliable.
Love it. Got belkin camera stand you show on 15. like it. Please:what usbc-3 charger do you recommend for fast charging ?
i use the belkin boost charger pro for a few weeks now.
pros.
- functionality great for everyday use
- aesthetically nice and clean
- travelling - easy to pack due to flatness
cons.
- pricey
- travelling - a little heavy
- travelling - needs plug for the power adaptor plus another travel adaptor for compatible outlet
overall.
- great for everyday use
- can pass for a semi to less frequent traveller and dont mind a little bulk
- if it proves to be durable (which by previous experience, belkin is) then it is worth it
Anker products are amazing, they’re definitely getting my money before Apple in terms of charging / accessories. Better products for a better price.
First video I've seen from, ez new sub
Oh well, maybe next year!
Really like the phone wallpaper, did you shot that yourself or got it somewhere?
Very helpful, thank you.
What was the leather case that you were using for you iphone? If you don't mind me asking
Me too
My go to is Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe.
Thanks for the video 🎉 really helpful
I've got a magsafe wallet and battery pack, only the latter is an Apple Official. I like the battery pack stops charging when the phone gets too warm, though it's a bummer it's capacity is so low. It's really just for charging your phone a bit when your out and need that extra juice...
I might get a magsafe 3-in-1 charger for my desk later, though definitely not the expensive belkin one...
Hi, what brown leather case are you using? Is it the Nomad Horween Leather?
Talking about the no name Amazon brands is a great idea. I’ve heard about the Belkin 3-in-1 charger in multiple videos, but could never justify the price. The Amazon charger looks just as sleek without any branding and only costs a third of the price + the charging speeds are not a deal breaker for me.
I have the 3 in 1 Belkin MagSafe charger. I love it and I have Belkins MagSafe car charger. Both are amazing
I have the Stouchi mount. It’s very useful. I bought it as a continuity camera mount but I mostly use it as a kickstand and ring holder. I’ve had it for a few months and it still works like new.
Hey do you know if future iPads will get MagSafe?
Are the actual phone cases with magsafe magnetic or is it just a metal that magnets stick too? Would be dope if I can magnetically stick my phone using a magsafe case to any metal surface
Big thanks mate
Wow I can’t believe you don’t like the Belkin stand! I have the black colored one and it’s incredible and I use it daily. WELL worth the money spent
Mous has Magsafe Cases for some Android phones. It's awesome.
fantastic vid man. thanks. what is your iPhone case? i likey :)
You can get a MagSafe case for iPhone X and 11 I’ve been using it for my iPhone 11 and it works great just charges really slow takes about 2 hours to fully charge but good option to have.
The MagSafe duo is way too slow for charging the Apple Watch. Is the Anker Cube faster?
I bought a stand from Best Buy for like $7 that holds a standard apple mag safe charger which works for me upside down on a shelf next to my bed, however sometimes I wish the magnets were stronger
have a magsafe case for my pixel 7 so usefull :D it works pretty well for me
Great Video! But what case is that?
Wallpaper?
How can I get your wallpaper
Is it true that anker packs actually get hot
I have a mag safe car dock and that thing is amazing
Tell me, what kind of stand is presented at the presentation of the Apple function stand by iOS17?
I only charge my iPhone with the MagSafe charger, it works great and charges really fast.
The lightning cable is still in the box.
I love magsafe i have the apple battery pack and i put a silicone case on it with a magsafe ring on the back so i can put my apple wallet on the back. By 4pm the magsafe battery is dead and my phone is on 90% . I take the battery and put it in my car and just use the wallet on the phone for the rest of the day
5:24 this is the best one! Do you have a link for it?
Hi, are you interested in reviewing the Smart Sprinkler Controller?
Are Magsafe mounts just a metal plate then, essentially?
No android? Laugh in magsafe cases for android phones
There is magsafe phone cases for Android does safe thing
@@NurullAhmineyeah bro glad you said the same exact shit he said in different wording no one else understood glad you were here
Yeah but bad quality
@Kingkop3 true that, got magsafe powerbank anker one, battery is too slow to charge
@@Kingkop3It is the same quality as it is in the original iphone. Magsafe is just a magnetic attachment that secures wireless charger or wireless powerbank. It is not some faster and better quality wireless charging protocol
Do u always ur phone without a case
ESR case is great :) have it on s24 ultra
