Update: The Encased Lolli Locket is already broken, it seems it's just a cheap sticker on top of the magnets and one time I just pulled off the grip, the insides flew out and I got left with the grip itself, without magnets. Don't buy! Not A tier!
Sorry if you addressed this in the video and I missed it, but what is the sticker you have on the back of your clear Magsafe case and what is it's purpose? Does it help Magsafe accessories grip the slick case surface better?
Looks like I missed that one, it’s once again not available in Europe though, so it would be difficult to get it. Looks like the Rhinoshield one, but less gimmicky
Just forget oh snap grip. They claim it supports MagSafe charging, but they didn’t say it only charge without case. I’ve tried the Mous case, phone rebel case, and many other Chinese case, none of them work with Oh snap grip. Maybe it works with some ultra thin cases, but why should I do that if the grip doesn’t work with my daily case. What if you want to use MagSafe after you put Oh snap on? You need to take it off! Why does it matter? Because oh snap grip using double side tap to make sure it stays on your phone. You can use it without double side tap, but the grip will fall out easily and stick on other metal parts and leave your phone behind.
5:06 that rhinoshild flap has a compartment to hide transportation/micro payment RFID card used in Taiwan… it’s not available anywhere else, so people mistaken it as a fidget toy..
@@regflori still using mine every day, holding up just fine. It's got a few scuffs here and there from daily use, but the band is still firmly attached.
When I saw you give Anker S Tier right off the bat despite the complete failure at being flush or flat when not in use, and covering the camera, I knew the list was broken… 😢
Just picked up the UAG magnetic ring stand, and it works great with my Otter Defender Pro XT, it’s got so many position options, can be used as a grip in multiple layouts, from the standard finger ring, to pyramid tent, to even just a flat plate between the fingers, can be used in portrait and landscape and has almost infinite angles, it also doubles as a fidget toy… Long term durability remains to be seen, not sure if it’ll loosen up over time, but so far it seems solid.
Can you also suggest which of these magsafe phone holders support magsafe charging without removing the actual ring from the case? I think that is something which must be covered as a part of your final judgement
I actually learned about that stand from UAG when editing the last part of the video. So sad I found out too late, would’ve loved to look at it. Looks a little crooked though because of the shape and the way you have to turn it when standing it vertically
I was so excited for the Aulumu stand. It’s exactly what I want for a grip/stand, but the fidget function wears out immediately and I can’t find anyone who’s fixed it.
Unless I missed it, it would be nice to know what phone you're testing with as well as if you are using an additional case or if they can be used without a case etc.
msot grips works right out of the box, you should test after 6months or even 1Y and see if the tightness in the swiveling is still there.. because I found th@ Anker's wears out in about 3-6months with daily usage.. Food for thought
I used the Torras but after few weeks the hinge didn't fold flat anymore... so I switched to the Ewa MagOne Ultra, amazing hinge, but it scratches the phone's back...
I use the Ewa magone 2 . My requirements were strong magnet so it holds a heavy s23 ultra with a case, slim and easy pocketable without removing it, comfy holding the phone with one hand, horizontal and vertical stand and lasty still safely usable with a car magsafe holder/charger. The only downside is the hinge of the outer ring doesnt last long. After one year i had to replace it. Still the best thing i can buy in Europe.
I have been using the Pitaka ring for over half a year. Love it so far, great magnets, feels very safe, robust and premium. It could only be more comfortable to hold. A from me.
Hello, I have seen a lot of complaints against the AULUMU G05 Magsafe. People posting issues regarding quality detoriate after using it within months. The stand loosen up gradually and end up by rotating itself. And makes noises due to its hinges clashing. How was your experience using this? I am not sure whether to buy it or not. Any suggestions on it?
Hi there! So yeah I’ve seen this alot too, but not my unit. Then again, as a reviewer I tend not to use everything long term, including that one, my unit still works but I don’t use it everyday, so honestly I couldn’t say for certain! I do use it alot in videos though to see how good magsafe is, so it does get weekly use and nothing so far. Hope that helps
Great video. I have two pitaka’s rings and I love them very minimal and very comfortable. I use it for both horizontal and vertical positions. The vertical position is very low but I still like it. The magnets are very strong and it feels very premium.
I loved that Mous grip. Been using the Anker ring for a while now. But that extension function, might be replacing the Anker. I also have the Belkin ring for Continuity Camera, but it’s a backup. Overall, great video.
I was torn between Pitaka, ESR, and UAG ring stands. Ultimately, I went with UAG. It's on the larger side, but with the standalone esr magnet ring on the UB pro or the UB Mag xt on my S24U, it doesn't cause s pen interference. Super sturdy as well.
I don't see two of the very best. For non-MagSafe, though they do have a chunky MagSafe option, the LoveHandle Pro is hard to beat. My current favorite is the Caseology Nano Pop, but they’re super low on stock. Don’t worry though, CellHelmet has a nearly identical version called the Ring Thing. I’m a fan of both the Ring Thing and the Nano Pop. I have nearly every color.
Sad that the OhSnap! is not available in Europe... because they blow all of those out of the competition. It's a bit pricier, but it can't get thinner and more useful than their's.
I first got the Anker Maggo, then the ESR one and yesterday the Anker Maggo 620 arrived. But the one I like best is the Rolling Square Edge Pro Core. It's made to attach your phone to your monitor or laptop (as is my case) via magnets and then you can use your phone camera or whatever. But it doubles up nicely as a vertical and horizontal stand, a grip and it folds completely flat to the back of your phone, or if you want to carry it separately, it folds up nice and flat in your pocket. It has magents on all sides, so it's fairly versatile for sticking to things or sticking other things to it. Anyway, it's my absolute favourite for now. BTW, I enjoyed watching your video, but I have to stop buying all these toys and accept that probably not a single one of them will be the one to rule them all at the end of the day. 😂
Thanks you so much for this video and the detailed reviews. Though It would’ve been nice that you check if you can still charge your phone while having the grips on.
Thanks for the video. I can recommend the “SYNCWIRE Magnetic Mobile Phone Ring Holder for MagSafe Strong N55” too. It’s pretty good rounded. Has a strong magnet. And it works as MagSage “client” as well as a “host”. Only nitpick: the inner ring is not correctly centered in the outer ring, which drives my OCD nuts. 😅
Where’s the Andobil? It’s so much better than the others and has a magnetic back for sticking the phone to any metallic surface - even while the ring stand is on. That Anker one is trash after just a few months
I love the orange accent and the fact that the grip is made out of a rubbery material on the torras. Definetly gonna order one, eventhough at 21€ its quite expensive imo, because for that money i can already get a magsafe powerbank with built in stand (which i already have).
I really want to like your channel, but I feel like you need some work on your ranking system. Appreciate the investment in the gear at the very least to see how it operates.
@Unfilterd I personally start with my disclaimer that it's an objective opinion. Then break up things I'm looking at in an item into categories (like your talking points you use) and give it points based on how it performs in those categories. This can be based on bad(0)/as expected(1)/good2)/great(3)/ahead of the rest(4). Take away points for things if necessary. Then include personal preference and give it/take away a tier point if desired (or just give it a "my personal favorites" summary at the end). To determine the tiers I just divide the points given by the total number to get a percentage and place it based on its percentage/grade. Then that personal preference point gives room for +/- tier from what it scored. This isn't a perfect system but just ideas and methods to hopefully provide constructive feedback. I kinda typed it up walking out the door so I apologize if I didn't come across well. O/
Aulumu is cool, but I doubt you can carry it on an airplane with that boxcutter. Would be perfect otherwise for travelers. Such a shame they don't make one without the stupid boxcutter.
you forgot the best of them all.... The tango grip.. It is the best slim grip of them all. If I had to pick one negative it would be that it doesn't allow magsafe to passthrough. The ohsnap grip is a cheap $4 piece of crap in comparison. I bought the Luxe 4 and it broke same day. The tango has a lifetime warranty, the Ohsnap is maybe a year, and it's annoying to pop open and it gets caught when "fidgeting" with it.
