Basically only a jedi master or exceptionally talented knight like luke can make vader try and we know hes not fully trying against luke (well not at all in empire) but still hes conflicted and not fully committed to the fight when luke does beats him.

Vader is perfect because he dispatches of Trilla in a second defeats Cere twice without even needing to put in effort and makes you seem like a kid with a toy, they finally made Vader terrifying again.
I really like this scene for multiple reasons. one being. you see Vader and how truly terrifying he is. He just killed the person you were struggling for ten minutes in two seconds while making an entrance, shoved your master to the side like it was another day and tear the full room apart. For two hes letting the dark side fester in your master only for you to bring her back to the light, but it does nothing but slow him down not even stop him.
I mean Vader is so powerful the only people that can beat him are people he had emotional connections with which Anakin is still holding on to but anyone he doesn't know or close history are nothing more but fodder for him.
I don't think anyone has noticed, but the reason Trilla was even more frightened is because Vader was force immobilizing her. You can hear the Force sound effect just before he officially shows up. Like a dark ethereal crunch that has a hold on her. She couldn't have escaped or done anything, even if she had wanted too.

This truly shows how terrifyingly powerful Darth Vader is. He absolutely will get his priorities straight and even will kill his own allies should they failed to succeed.
it's not what he does. The devs managed to make us feel the horrifying aura that Vader projects on his targets. Trilla's dramatic monologue was poignant. The long and excruciating seconds that passes by brings pity and compassion feelings for her to the shear horror and fear of what is really happening, as you realize that Vader is here, behind her. This is why the scene is so powerful.
Despite being weighed down by being permanently sealed in a suit with limited movement, Vader is still an excellent duelist. If he didn't burn on Mustafar, he'd possibly be more powerful than even the emperor.
If Anakin had beaten Obi-Wan on Mustafar, the emperor probably would have killed him before too long. Anakin was built different. If he'd properly engaged in his emotions and let the Dark Side control him completely without losing his limbs, he would've had it over Sidious by leagues. He was already one of the best duellists since the likes of Tulak Hord, if he didn't get major debuffs from the suit he'd be faster than anyone else and a hell of a lot more talented with a lightsaber. He was basically Star Wars Jesus after all

i remember how i was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED and horrified at him appearing the way he did. I remember my eyes widening like crazy after i heard his first step. Amazing how something so new causes such nostalgia for me.
When i heard his first audible breathe, i froze and whispered : "Oooh f*********ck..." lol i knew Cal was not remotely close to being ready to fight him, let alone trying to be.

He doesn't really need to exert much effort at all Hes like The DOOMSlayer, he is fueled by his rage and suffering and that makes him terrifyingly powerful

The whole ending with Vader was a treat. I legit thought Cal was gonna die but escaped, and his escape still made Vader look like a monster holding back the entire ocean with the force.
To this day, I still hate that both Cal and Cere ended up escaping that battle. One Jedi slipping away from Vader is one thing, but Vader would never let two Jedi escape him.
In fairness? They got really lucky. 9 times outta 10 they'd die there, besides, Vader wanted to tou with them and make Cal surrender the Holocron, hence torturing him with his own lightsaber despite him and us knowing full well it would take barely a thought to push it all the way through.

I remember how in The Force Unleashed you get to kick Vader's ass by the end of the game but in Fallen Order you struggle to just keep him at bay to flee the fight and I love it! (Also Starkiller was really broken, The Emperor himself had to put him down in the first game).
But he was really broken if we take on count his feats. Altough i'm not a fan of him i enjoyed the first game (the second was mid to bad for not saying it was ass) but also i don't wan't to see him in movies or anything. He was a character for those games and those games only.

In fairness most of starkillers feats come from high adrenaline high stress situations where as we see can give a boost to force powers. And he'd been trained in lightsaber combat specifically against jedi since he was a child so being a powerful force user with skill in combat would be hard for anyone to overcome. But I don't love starkiller for his power I think his character is interesting and his design especially is cool. I'd love to see him return as an inquisitor

Cal actually agreed with Vader. So Vader went easy on him. At the same time Cal showed he wouldn't just give up so easily. Which likely impresses Vader enough to not kill him outright. Nice detail that.

The best thing to highlight here is the fact that Vader recognizes Cal's strength and potential and, although he doesn't say so explicitly, he doesn't try to kill him but rather seems to want to recruit him.
His dark entrance. The powerful thump he makes when hitting the floor. The horns teasing Anakin's betrayal theme in the underwater hallway. They did him justice!
Vader's way of showing a modicum of respect to his opponent is wielding his lightsaber with two hands. When he one-hands it, he's literally saying "you ain't shit, I'm barely trying here, and YOU ARE LETTING ME DO IT."
Even if you somehow didn't know who Darth Vader was prior to this, I think most people could appreciate what a perfectly paced villain reveal this is. The breathing, the sudden force crunch, the heavy steps, the slow ascent of a shadowy figure... it's just stellar.
It's very impressive how Cal manages to run away from Prime Vader. (Jedi Fallen Order takes place 5 years after ROTS which is when Vader spends most of his time hunting Jedis alongside the inquisitors.)

Anytime Vader shows up, it always has the feeling of Madara during the 4th ninja war. For the people Vader is fighting it is the scariest moment of their lives. For Vader, it is routine.
This has probably been said to death but a subtle thing I absolutely love is the track they chose for Vader’s entrance was “Anakin’s dark deeds” from ROTS as Obi Wan and Yoda see the aftermath of the attack on the temple and as Anakin is slaughtering the Separatists. When Anakin truly became Vader and got his Sith eyes for the first time, a bloody spine chilling and beautiful track
The repeated series of 'nope's as the fight itself kicks off is so good. Okay, so I can't hit him, he just blocks- oh, I'm getting force choked. Wait, I have control? Oh, I see, it's a quick time event, I can hit him with the- ...Oh. Or he can hit me with the scenery. Alright, well he threw me away, he moves slowly, and the door is closing, so this must be where it transitions to platf- ...Oh, he just... crunched the door. And now he's throwing stuff at me. While walking towards me. Oh.
Vader is such a badass when you see him fight Cal and Cere. Vader only uses one hand to hold his lightsaber during the whole fight while Cal and Cere use both hands to hold theirs.
Exactly! Instead of leaving his brother (again), saying "Goodbye Darth". With Vader's mask cracked, a bit of Anakin surfaced. He even lifted the guilt out of Obi Wan's shoulders before retreating to the dark side. Obi Wan could've redeem the hero of the Clone Wars and most importantly, his brother in that moment. Well, he tried, but only if he would try a bit harder..
I love the Imperial March theme when Vader is back at 4:24, but I especially love the ending notes when Cal swims out of the place, it's so haunting and so beautiful.
I love how it builds up and you think your gonna be able to fight Vader maybe fuck his armor up or something, and he just absolutely overpowers you, and all that energy goes into running for you godamn LIFE. What a way to just absolutely sober the player, build you up like your a badass and then show you how outmatched you really are.
When I played this for the first time and I just heard him breathing in the background the pure excitement through my body was mental! 😆 such an incredible ending to the story and I did not expect it at all.
This is the scariest vader has ever been. Scarier than rogue one. The first time playing this it was so unexpected, and you knew you were so screwed, (also because it took me a hundred tries to beat trilla, so how was I gonna have a chance against vader) that it feels kind of real and the fear cal is feeling is more personal when you control him than when you just watch vader in a movie.

They did, they portrayed Obi Wan in EP3 as novice jedi (Padawan/Knight level) and Reva at the same in EP5, he is unassailable until Obi Wan used form III and IV with the fear and weakness of Anakin still being behind the mask gone. It took the ultimate power of Obi Wan to beat Vader, and Vader had lost his calm and collective manner, shown by him exerting in anger when attacking Kenobi. Vader was portrayed extremely similarly if not better I Kenobi.
Because Obi-Wan is actually skilled enough to make Anakin scramble 😅 he’s an experienced, veteran Jedi with expertise in multiple lightsaber styles. Cal is none of these things 🤣
Did we watch the same series? He literally snapped a kid’s neck just to draw Obi Wan out and tortured and killed many innocents for no reason, he dragged Obi Wan through fire to torture him and tried burying him alive, stopped a ship and brought it down midair, we even got a scene of him killing younglings in screen.
My personally theory for this game on why the platforms are set up in a way for Cal to use is that Vadar wants him to escape, but at the same time he has a job and duty to uphold for the emperor.

The whole ending with Vader was a treat. I legit thought Cal was gonna die but escaped, and his escape still made Vader look like a monster holding back the entire ocean with the force.
He still managed to be unbearably scary in each moment, knowing the protagonists only survived because he let them live
To this day, I still hate that both Cal and Cere ended up escaping that battle. One Jedi slipping away from Vader is one thing, but Vader would never let two Jedi escape him.

In fairness? They got really lucky. 9 times outta 10 they'd die there, besides, Vader wanted to tou with them and make Cal surrender the Holocron, hence torturing him with his own lightsaber despite him and us knowing full well it would take barely a thought to push it all the way through.

Cal definitely wouldn’t have escaped but Cere definitely shouldn’t have survived. Cere got that good ole’ grappling hook from Robin.
I remember how in The Force Unleashed you get to kick Vader's ass by the end of the game but in Fallen Order you struggle to just keep him at bay to flee the fight and I love it! (Also Starkiller was really broken, The Emperor himself had to put him down in the first game).

In fairness most of starkillers feats come from high adrenaline high stress situations where as we see can give a boost to force powers. And he'd been trained in lightsaber combat specifically against jedi since he was a child so being a powerful force user with skill in combat would be hard for anyone to overcome. But I don't love starkiller for his power I think his character is interesting and his design especially is cool. I'd love to see him return as an inquisitor

Cal actually agreed with Vader. So Vader went easy on him. At the same time Cal showed he wouldn't just give up so easily. Which likely impresses Vader enough to not kill him outright. Nice detail that.

The best thing to highlight here is the fact that Vader recognizes Cal's strength and potential and, although he doesn't say so explicitly, he doesn't try to kill him but rather seems to want to recruit him.
His dark entrance. The powerful thump he makes when hitting the floor. The horns teasing Anakin's betrayal theme in the underwater hallway. They did him justice!

Even if you somehow didn't know who Darth Vader was prior to this, I think most people could appreciate what a perfectly paced villain reveal this is. The breathing, the sudden force crunch, the heavy steps, the slow ascent of a shadowy figure... it's just stellar.
It's very impressive how Cal manages to run away from Prime Vader. (Jedi Fallen Order takes place 5 years after ROTS which is when Vader spends most of his time hunting Jedis alongside the inquisitors.)

Anytime Vader shows up, it always has the feeling of Madara during the 4th ninja war. For the people Vader is fighting it is the scariest moment of their lives. For Vader, it is routine.

This has probably been said to death but a subtle thing I absolutely love is the track they chose for Vader’s entrance was “Anakin’s dark deeds” from ROTS as Obi Wan and Yoda see the aftermath of the attack on the temple and as Anakin is slaughtering the Separatists. When Anakin truly became Vader and got his Sith eyes for the first time, a bloody spine chilling and beautiful track

With Vader's mask cracked, a bit of Anakin surfaced. He even lifted the guilt out of Obi Wan's shoulders before retreating to the dark side. Obi Wan could've redeem the hero of the Clone Wars and most importantly, his brother in that moment. Well, he tried, but only if he would try a bit harder..
The tracks used in this scene were perfect, that’s mostly why this scene is amazing
I love the Imperial March theme when Vader is back at 4:24, but I especially love the ending notes when Cal swims out of the place, it's so haunting and so beautiful.

When I played this for the first time and I just heard him breathing in the background the pure excitement through my body was mental! 😆 such an incredible ending to the story and I did not expect it at all.
This is the scariest vader has ever been. Scarier than rogue one. The first time playing this it was so unexpected, and you knew you were so screwed, (also because it took me a hundred tries to beat trilla, so how was I gonna have a chance against vader) that it feels kind of real and the fear cal is feeling is more personal when you control him than when you just watch vader in a movie.
Holy Hell! I juuuust got the game the other day on sale. GAWD He is really IS horrifying! The escape makes me think of Obi Wan in the underwater passage as well. :D

You hear the footsteps, and then you hear that first exhale, and you know exactly what’s coming, you even know more than the protagonists who you play as do, they have absolutely no idea who’s approaching them.

They did, they portrayed Obi Wan in EP3 as novice jedi (Padawan/Knight level) and Reva at the same in EP5, he is unassailable until Obi Wan used form III and IV with the fear and weakness of Anakin still being behind the mask gone. It took the ultimate power of Obi Wan to beat Vader, and Vader had lost his calm and collective manner, shown by him exerting in anger when attacking Kenobi. Vader was portrayed extremely similarly if not better I Kenobi.

He literally snapped a kid’s neck just to draw Obi Wan out and tortured and killed many innocents for no reason, he dragged Obi Wan through fire to torture him and tried burying him alive, stopped a ship and brought it down midair, we even got a scene of him killing younglings in screen.
