Terrific 1st ride Mungus ! Everything you said is spot on about Gixxer 1k’s ! Tons of bottom and midrange with the VVT engine technology , neutral .. familiar feel and easy to get on with. Suzuki may not be the fanciest but you’d be hard pressed to find a bike that just flatly works as a everyday Liter bike like Gixxers. Value per dollar and all around goodness is off the chart. And the reliability is legendary! Besides that, really appreciate your candor.. sharing how u feel( blessed, excited, surprised) all at once. Easy to watch your channel and come away feeling good. The world needs more of that !

I have a 2018 gsxr 1000r. Best all round bike hands down. I do track days and all I do it a couple of adjustments on brakes and Im ready. Its not the fastest bike but it is a VERY QUICK bike. Fast enough to pucker your ass when you push it. Congratulations brother. Be safe!!!!

Excellent review, i really like your passion and enthusiasm and your overall impression of the GSXR is spot on. I have a crew with all of the exotics and yet the GSXR is still considered one of the best values for the dollar. A solid well constructed bike with great performance and a bullet proof motor. Good choice bro. The GSX1000 is just so good. Super reliable and reasonably priced. Just enough techs that they don't hamper the riding experience. Its the perfect superbike. Love the low end mid range too.

You sit more in the bike not on it like most sportbikes. This is why you like the "feel" of the GSXR my 2006 GSXR 1000 is the same way. Best street Liter bike for everyday rider.

I've owned 2, a 2007 and a 2010. Great bikes. My only issue with them (and these are earlier models) is that both had a fairly average 'wooden' feel through the brake lever. Apart from that, no issues. Awesome engines, fantastic mid range.

Superb choice dude, I've been riding a mixture of Fireblades, R1s and GSX-R 750s and 1000s since 1994 but as I'm now into my sixties comfort is a priority, my most recent sports bike was a 2017 'Blade SP (I also have a 2020 Street triple R) so I decided to get a new 1000 this year and went to try out the CBR1000RR-R SP, No Way, it's a torture implement, I've been so used to my Blades being a do it all machine, with good comfort for a sports bike as I use them for my 86 mile commute to work each day but apart from being the most uncomfortable bike I've ever rode (though it is beautiful) there's just no power below 8,000 rpm, it's the most unfireblade like fireblade ever, I also tested the latest R1 and although more comfortable than the 'Blade it was still too extreme for me, finally I tested the GSX-R1000R and it was like coming home to an old friend , just brilliant handling, power and far more comfort than any sports bike I've ridden, so I bought one (in matt black) straight after the test ride.
Congrats brother, I'm 23 and dreaming of having my first bike. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to say which one i like the most

Have you tried the bmw s1000rr? I’m under the impression Suzuki and bmw make the most comfortable super bikes. I would like your opinion.
@@leroyjenkins6809 I tried the S1000R after I'd bought the GSX-R as my mate bought one it's a great bike and TBH if I'd tested it beforehand I'd have had a difficult choice.
Imma be honest with you being heavily into Honda cbrs and Yamaha R(1,6,7). I have to say that this is a mean ass looking Suzuki. At first I use to sleep on these bikes now I have to respect these machines. They look awesome, thanks for the review.

This video was very helpful; I'm grateful and blessed that I am able to get a Ducati V4S but I still and practical as I am looking for a bike for just track days; I am on a middleweight bike now. Many have suggested that GSXR1K is just at good and is less money to buy and modify. Appreciate the content! Ride safe!

Finally finally see you join zuk nation man I own a BMW s1000rr and a Suzuki gsx r10001r both 2021 and I'll tell you people really do under estimate just how good the zuk really is .... Don't get me wrong I love the Ducati and bmws but man I have a love in my heart for the zuk man # zuk nation stand up

@@DudeMungus No problem. I have been following this current model Gixxer 1k since it dropped in 2017. I have seen brand new bikes on the showroom floor (last year old stock) for like $13k + taxes. That's a steal for such a beast. It's only known flaws are a coarsely tuned ABS (for the track, the street is fine), and a potential buzz in the motor from not having any counter balance in the motor design. I'm wondering if that just got worked out due to higher levels of manufacturing as 5 years have gone by now. Maybe you can comment on that stuff in another video!

Awesome videos bro, I sold my 2021 zx6r and bought a new 2022 gsxr1000r just like yours last friday....I noticed in later videos you had removed your front reflectors. You can remove the threaded stud as well, reuse the black washer and use your two stainless bolts from factory muffler heat shield and fits perfectly and looks better than factory.

I remember when my dad bought the 2001 gsxr. It was very rare to see them because they were brand new. But that bike was so badass. I just never wanted a bike because I’ve seen my dads friends have bad falls and some lost their lives. But man it look sooo fun!!!

The 2022 version we got in australia was the same colourway but didnt have the big black suzuki side logo, and has more more black on the front fairing. Are these fairings stock?

Some beautiful countryside where you live brother, R.E. - Suzuki’s- I’ve ridden them since I was 17 yrs old- I am now 58..!! I still ride a k6 1000 but started on a gt250 X7 and even that 250 two stroke twin had a good spread of power relative to similar bikes of the time, gsx1100ex. 1100EFE, 1100F, hayabusa, K4 1000 and now the k6 which has taken care of me for the last 16 years. And Never let me down “ I still love it “I’ve rode a lot of bikes but up until recently there were very few brands that offered the same broad spread of power Kawasakis in particular seemed to lack bottom end and mid range, Suzuki have never been the best in terms of build quality but the basics that you need have always been there - sweet gearboxes , bullet proof engines, being the obvious ones, I’ve never had an issue. Other than the handling back in the day, when everything from Japan had more engine than the frames could cope with, but still there doesn’t seem to be a bad bike anymore just “ horses for coarses “ ME? 95% of the time 160hp is more than enough for the road….. ride safe and enjoy

I sat on a 2023 ZX10R and a 2023 GSXR 1000 and I have to say the riding position on the Gixxer has me sold on it much more. The Ninja feels like you're literally laying on the tank.... the Suzuki is much more upright and comfy...
Must upgrades, weighted bar-ends & grips, tune to fix the quick shifter fix.
Great bikes. Often overlooked. Friend just bought the phantom limited edition over in uk. Vrr is great.

On gixxer quick shifter do you have to let up on the gas when up shifting
Not at all throttle pinned with no lift.
However when using the auto blip for down shifting you need to fully release the throttle

The powerband on GSXR's is aggressive compared to ZX10R, R1, and CBR1000R. They are all fast. They just have different character between them.

Ngl bro going from a 650 to GSXR1000 is going to be a crazy difference. It one thing going from a 600cc supersport to a 1000 but a 650 to 1000 supersport is gonna be a big difference.
