      That's exactly how I feel looking for a new phone!!! Idk what to do, most are in back order ... I'm tempted to go with the free a32 5g that sprint is offering me while I keep deciding which phone I actually want & when it's actually in stock ... (My phone's battery officially died 2 wks ago & this has been my dilemma for 2wks now,ughhhhh!)

    What about UWB technology!? Every review I've seen overlooks this, and the S21 buyers won't be too happy to learn that they can't use the new and improved SmartTag+ because they were told they could save 200 dollars and that the only difference was the screen size... IT'S NOT!
    The one with the best features is the S21+ (I have this one, even though I prefer the S21 because of the size).
    When buying a phone as expensive as this one, you have to keep in mind you will use it 2-5 years, and the battery life tends to deteriorate over time... The 4,000 mAh may seem good enough when the phone is new, but the day will come when the full charge won't last throughout the day.
    On the other hand, if you are a one hand holder, the S21 is the best for you even if you miss out on UWB and the 4,800 mAh battery. Ergonomics is way more important than this because the S21+ is considerably larger and heavier. In short, with the S21+ you won't be able to swipe down with only one hand without dropping the phone. Unless you have very large hands like a NBA player, this will be a very big issue in everyday use for you (trust me, I have a S21+ and I suffer this every day. It doesn't get easier with time).
    Every single review of the S21 makes a very big fuss about it not having a glass back, but you will purchase a case anyways... right? It could have a gold plated back and it won't matter because 99.99999999% of the time you won't see it nor touch it.
    For me, the choice between S21 and S21+ comes down to budget and personal preference (ergonomics vs features). If you are tech savy and want to be able to use all the features and future uses of the UWB technology, the S21+ is the way to go. If you are a one handed user (this is very important) and don't have a problem charging the phone throughout the day when the battery wears down, the S21 is better for you.

    just to mention that you have forgot to point out that s21+ has 800 mAh more battery capacity then s21...that is literally the ONLY dilemma that I have right now of buying one of these phones...the only reason why I want to upgrade to s21/s21+ is because of the battery life on my current s9...I stand behind that s9 is still up to today a great smartphone (for me) and I wouldn't upgrade if I don't have any battery issues with my s9...but just to ask since I depend on the battery life so much (on the start of using my s9 I didn't depend that much, I know battery gets weak how time passes by by charging it and so on)....I still want to ask you, would you recommend me to go to s21+ still or no....plus...I must say I'm kind of unsure about the bigger phone because I have found myself sometimes struggling with my s9 to reach certain parts of the screen in the certain positions of the phone itself in my hand...happens rarely but still happens....what would you advice me to do?

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    My take; the s21 and s21+ are both about $200 more than they should be, but I suspect Samsung know that but are bargaining on no competition ATM from upcoming rival 2021 phones. So they are spending millions on marketing to get that extra margin before they let market forces push the prices down to their relative value.
    So, even though pre-order you get some freebies, and in the US good trade-ins (not so much in the UK), it is probably worth waiting 2-3 months for prices to fall and see what the competition comes up with? I cannot help feeling that at launch most of the competition will be cheaper and offer more.
    As for the s21's, a non-upgrade apart from the expected yearly SoC improvements and in some ways a downgrade on last year's versions. Certainly difficult to recommend these to S10 or s20 owners as they will be basically getting a minor upgrade. Of course, not Samsung's fault as there is not much happening in the smartphone world, apart from gimmicks (LG) or overpriced, poor value foldable's. I think we are seeing Samsung realise the 3-4 year cycle Apple has is the standard going forward and best to ignore the tiny niche market that gets over-excited every year for a new phone, times are changing!

To me, small phones are better, because of their one hand use and portability and cheaper price. I do hate Samsung not adding more battery to the s21 as they did to the s21 plus, since thats one thing small phones always struggle with their battery. Being full HD Im ok, plus nobody can tell the difference, trust me, do a random test with people and it will be a 50/50. @@jr4459 the plus is almost as big as the ultra and that is a big heavy phone but the flat screen actually makes the plus lighter and pocket friendly. If you do get the plus get an ultra thin case it helps with handling it. The plus does have a bigger battery but besides that they are identical with one having more screen. You can even try an ultra thin case on your s21 to give you back more screen

    Watching this on my s21+. Traded in my s20. Love it so far. I do miss my pink s20 and the sd card slot but now I just back everything up on one drive with 1tb storage. And it seems okay
    The s21+ feels premium and the battery lasts a long long time whereas my s20 didn't. So I don't mind it,it's pretty good so far. Do you think samsung will get rid of the sd card permanently?? With their s flagships? So do you think next year in the s22 they would not have one? I know you don't know for sure but would love your insight.

    another major difference is the range of the battery, with the s21+ you dont need to charge it at night, but you have more than one and a half day of full use, instead of s21 that you need to charge it at the end of the day.... (here in Greece we have exynos 2100, which uses more energy than SD 888).

    • @marufio
      @marufio 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They cancel each other out because the s21 has a smaller screen whereas the plus needs a bigger battery

  • @SoutheastFish
    @SoutheastFish 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The s21 ultra is too heavy...hurts my hands and very uncomfortable to use, especially trying to pull it out and pick it up quickly. Also, I don't feel like the upgrades between the Ultra and the other s21s are even much noticeable. They all feel about the same...and honestly the battery life in the Ultra was way over hyped. It is really not that much difference. The design of the Ultra is a little awkward and annoying also. They tried to make it flatter, while still giving it a slight curve...but the curve still causes many accidental touches....
