How To Make Radio Controlled Airplane From A Cereal Box, Build, Fly And Crash

Thanks for stopping by. In this video I show how to make a radio controlled aeroplane biplane from a cereal box, it's easy and super cool, check it out.
You will need;
Cereal box
5mm foam board
Thin plastic or carbon fibre for flaps
Small electric motor, ESC & battery
Small radio gear; servos, receiver
1mm wire for wheels & linkages
Super glue & foam glue
Popsicle sticks
Large field for flying

A couple of other things..... After a few flights we realised the rudder needed to be larger and extend behind the tail, it flew really good after this modification. The first prototype had a rudder flap & servo which was better but we removed this and made the whole airframe 10% smaller to get it below the 249gram weight limit (for drone classification in the UK). The C of G is 10mm behind the leading edge of the top wing.
The inflight footage used the Insta360 GO 2 20g action camera.

Thanks matey, I know it’s amazing how far motors & batteries have progressed, I remember my first RC plane was a single channel (rudder only) plane with a CO2 engine. It would only fly for about 30 seconds!

Good building techniques, how many cameras do you use when filming the build?

Just one camera but in lots of different positions, also I made two Wheetabix aeroplanes (one with dihedral and one without) so there is some footage from each build. 😁

It was crazy difficult to fly until we made the rudder much bigger, if you pause the video you see the white rudder mod. Thanks 👍
