Very grateful for this video. I am sick with guilt and nauseous with anxiety as my two girls, sisters, just about a year and a half (had to wait for each to go through a cycle) are spayed as of this morning. It's the same way I felt when I had my son circumcised (13 yrs ago). They are done, recovering well, thank goodness. They come home in a few hours. I found a LOT of comfort in this video. Again, thank you.
Our baby girl was spayed this am and it was tough seeing her out of it. She’s usually high energy love ball. She wouldn’t even get out of the car. I was so worried with picking her up to get her in and out of car. I was worried I was going to stretch the stitches or pull the area and cause internal bleeding. She was drooling a lot and just lethargic. We did finally get her to eat some of her wet food and she went potty several times. Hoping I can keep her from jumping on the furniture. When we are at work she stays in her crate but at night she has her beds. So hoping it all goes well. Thank you for this video, helped with some of the anxiety.
Thank you so much. My puppy was spayed today and she has being crying even after I gave her pain medicine. It hurts me seen her like that. She sleeps in her crate so I will put her there with her recovery collar. Wish me luck in my first night.
same. my doggo got spayed yesterday and she was in so much pain I felt really guilty and anxious. Waiting for her to recover well. Sending wishes for your dog too
Thank you for this. I was so worried about my pup. She was spayed yesterday. It was so hard bringing her home and watching her still feeling groggy and in pain. She’s better today. She’s a yorkie, I got her baby onesie and they are working so far. The cone was so uncomfortable. Thank you again ❤ I feel a bit better.
Good morning and a quick note of gratitude for this video! I’ve always had large dogs and since welcoming our wee havanese into our hearts and home trying to visualize our sweet girl navigating her way around after her spay brought on some anxiety. While trying to keep her somewhat calm and quiet those first few days - what does that look like with a small 8.5lbs pup. You made this “transition” easier for us and we thank you. The “burrito/taco” method of lifting and carrying her in the comfort of her squishy comfy bed was brilliant and now I’m just pointing to it and she’s trotting over - hopping in and joining us up on the sofa. We actually drove home from the vet with this method and they thought it was the smartest thing they’d seen - More comfortable than the standard blanket wrap. So… with that said… we’re “healing on” as our girl is now in day 2 of her recovery and she’s doing great! Hi Pistachio ❤
This is a great video to help people with what to expect. Devastated that im experiencing complications with my pup's spay.. checking incisions daily is so important! My pup's internal sutures failed her.. whether from her body rejecting it or an allergy to the suture.. and now she needs to have another surgery to fix the possible hernia or whatever complication it is. Noticed a small lump and thought it was just fluid build up, but the lump got bigger and lumpier and didnt look right. Dont ignore the signs, if something looks off it's better to send a photo to your vet and not let web searches give you a peace of mind.
Thank you SO much. The first few minutes of this video, was needed. It’s so hard not to be overly worried about your pup. Super helpful info for a first time dog owner ❤
I’ve only had male dogs which the surgery recovery was easy and female cats who just sleep during recovery. This s my first female dog and was overwhelmed the first day. She was crying and freaked out over the cone. I’m thankful for the recovery suit, it seemed to bring her comfort. I just want to thank you and the other who posted these videos it has been so helpful to me . Day three my puppy I’d feeling a little better but now getting board. I’ve tried so much to keep her happy even taking her for small slow walks around the yard. Thank you again
Great video I had 2 female dogs who I didn’t spay due to being terrified of what could happen to have them .. both of them got pyrometra at the age of 12 ( they were never used for breeding I was just frightened of putting them through the surgery)which they had to be rushed to the vets for emergency surgery luckily they pulled through and lives an extra 2 years . I now have a 5 month old morkie and will not make the same mistake again she is getting spayed very soon
Thank you for sharing! Your videos are so helpful. Could you make a video on your feeding experience? I have a 4.5 mo Hava pup whose cravings seem to change every other day. I get so worried when she skips meals.
I’ve gotten this request a lot and I so wish I had helpful advice to give - I know Havs can be picky eaters! However, we haven’t totally cracked this ourselves. I will make a video when I feel like I have enough wisdom to share. Until then, I’ll say our dog loved wet canned food when we had to use it for a couple weeks due to a stomach bug, but it is more expensive than regular kibble.
Thank you so much for this video 😊 I have confidence that my Laska (shihtzu) will be fine! He was neutered yesterday, and i'm using the recovery suit. Good idea to take pics of the stitches, just in case!
Thank you , very nice video and educative. Your a very sweet lady, thank you. Our puppy's name is called Sukari and got spayed yesterday, so this video was very helpful. God bless u, hugs to your cute cute puppy. Happy Holidays ❤❤
Thank you for this video! My baby girl gets spayed July 5th, she's a 3 year old rottweiler mix. Never been pregnant and never will be! I'm overwhelmed and so sacred but this but this video has helped a bit. Thank you!
My baby was spayed on June 27th and we are currently in the recovery process. My other baby was spayed a little more than a year ago and I can’t not for the life of me remember her healing process. So here I am trying to know what to expect on this last week of recovery! Good luck!!
I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! You educated me with a Mom's perspective on how to help my sweet Coco go through this procedure. I am grateful for you. Thank you!❤🩹
Thank you! Love all these tips! Can you recommend chews and puzzle toys please? My havi is 4 and a half months and will be neutered later this summer. Love the foam cone too!
Hi there, thanks!! I’d recommend a snoop and a kong wobbler for starter puzzle toys. Check out my video on separation anxiety for more on those. For chews, we only every really used bully sticks. She got bored of them around 9 months though. Avoid chews with rawhide or real bone, they can splinter during digestion.
I wish I would have seen this video before Hannah's spaying. This is a very good video, it set my mind at ease.. now. Hannah wants to resume her daily activity at this time, but can't, so keeping her calm is an ongoing activity for me. But I will do anything to keep her calm and follow the Dr's instructions. If you follow the instructions the faster the healing. Your dog is beautiful by the way!!🥰 Take care
my dog doesnt even laying down . she is just slowly roaming around inside the house and just LAYING DOWN . if i try to forcefully lay her down she is keeping her legs strong and not laying down . its been 7 hours . is it normal ? . also doctors have used a cloth to create a overall cloth to keep her off from accessing sutures that us very loose and uncomfortable . what should i do ? she is trying to sleep standing
Did Pistachio get a cough after surgery ? I’m currently at day 1 after surgery with my Bostom Terrior and she came out with a sort of “Kennel cough “ sound and the vet had said it was normal due to having a tube but it still concerns me .
Thank you for your informative info. I'm wondering if my dog is 28 months which is 2 years and 4 months and I just got her spayed she is a pomeranian very highly active with major anxiety, do you think it was the right decision to spay her now? Considering she is 2yrs and 4 months old this was her 3 rd cycle I think. Appreciate your
My dog is thirteen years old she's a chihuahua here in mexico they give you the dog still on the anesthesia she was spayed at 11:30 am and then I got her back at 4 pm she still is on the anesthesia trying to get up. I don't know how many hours should I try to give her food or move her 😅
The anti spay neuter movement is partially responsible for the shelters and rescues having no room and having a 1 month wait for relinquishing a pet, causing more dumping…
We did not, and I think I would wait if I were to do it again. Our vet told us there was no need to wait so we went ahead, but I’ve heard a lot of positives since then when you wait for the first heat cycle.
My dog was operated on as an emergency she had a inflamed uteruse so her collar was a big issue. Also it's like she knew she was not well so she stayed still laying chilling I was stressed out she didn't leave my sight for like two weeks thanks for your video
This was the BEST video I’ve seen my LabPit is on day 3 after her surgery…I looked at some videos before the surgery…and after…this is very accurate 🐕🦺😇
Thank you. My dog was spayed yesterday and it’s been hard to see her groggy and in pain and refusing food. This video was comforting.

This makes me so happy. You’re doing a good thing for your girls! They will be back to their normal selves in a few days!
My baby is in today for her spay and I’m beside myself with worry. I can’t wait to get her home to take care of her.
Comparing fixing an animal to mutilating your son is so fucking weird

It will get better and you’ll both be through it so soon! You’ve got this!
thank you. my girl just had her spayed yesterday and the eggs saved my life I could give her the meds the vet gave me.
Thank you so so much, your video has helped me so much. My dog will be getting spayed at the end of the month.
Thank you for this ❤ my girl was just spayed yesterday morning and I’ve been stressing 😢
Thank you, just had mine done and in a bit of a panic and over analysing everything lol

Best help video I've ever seen!! She is gorgeous and thanks a lot for the link...that's always helpful.
Thank you so much!
I agree. I've been searching videos, yours was the best in explaining what to expect.
Space ship was helpful! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks so much. This was great first-hand information. It has surely eased my anxiety about aftercare and how best to tend to my little one.
Thank you so much for this video 😊 I have confidence that my Laska (shihtzu) will be fine! He was neutered yesterday, and i'm using the recovery suit. Good idea to take pics of the stitches, just in case!

Also benebones! They’re just plastic/wood but our puppy LOVES them. They’re usually flavored with bacon or peanut butter.
Thank you!

I’m so glad, that’s what it’s for 🧡
Strongly recommend the recovery suit!!! So much better than the cone. Thank you so much ❤
did she get any cycle before spaying? :) she’s so lovely
Thank you!! My puppy is in day 1 after surgery. sleeping, lethargic, I guess in pain.
Very normal!

My baby was never spayed until she got pyometra when she was 9. She pulled through and is still with us. 😊
My dog she had surgery because of pyometra. How was she the days after surgery ? My dog is just sleeping and not moving well

You will need to call your vet and ask.
Hi I am planning to get a havanease this means a lottt
What type of crate is that?
What if she has pynometra and heat cycle but they told me it was fine ?
then find another vet tbh… it’s never a bad idea to get another second opinion if it doesn’t feel right w you!
The anti spay neuter movement is partially responsible for the shelters and rescues having no room and having a 1 month wait for relinquishing a pet, causing more dumping…
Did you wait until first heat before spaying?
We did not, and I think I would wait if I were to do it again. Our vet told us there was no need to wait so we went ahead, but I’ve heard a lot of positives since then when you wait for the first heat cycle.
@@backtobreeality well, we ended up spaying before 1st heat as she was 8 1/2 months old. She's recovering well.
@@grantmcalpine6364 I’m so glad she’s doing well!
Just kidding I am just 9 but I love watching Your videos
Can you add the link for the onesie?
It’s in the description!
Omg your husband kind of looks like James Corden ☺️
Haha, Haven’t heard that one before but I kind of see it!
@@backtobreeality ha ha
She was naked once again😂
Why do gen z’s laugh while they’re talking when nothing they’re saying is humorous?
