Today's video is filmed in more of a vlog style, documenting Rosco's recovery after he's been neutered. We forgot to mention this in the video, but Rosco is 7 months at the time of his surgery. My 2yo shih tzu got neutered as well as 5 teeth extractions. Feeding him is so hard because of the pain. He’s on meds and takes them. Can’t wait for him to recover 😊
My 6 yr old dog was neutered last week. My experience was a little different. He wouldn't eat until the next day. Also wouldn't take medicine but he didn't seem to be in pain. After 3 days he was acting normally. He has some swelling, but hopefully that goes away. So far, so good.
Rosco sure has an adorable face! I don't think I'd be able to resist him or his requests.

My puppy gets a chryptorchid neuter tomorrow morning. I'm nervous. Hopefully everything goes well. My poor little guy 🥺❤️

Lol I bought that same beck pillow for my Maltipoo when she got fixed. Poor thing how she struggles to sleep in it.
My dog came home a hour ago I have been with my dog but now he is resting. This is a new experience for both of use because it’s my first dog. I wasn’t at the vet so I don’t know what to expect but this video is helpful because I really want my pup to be happy and healed again soon. He is drowsy, restless, and whiny. I am happy to see that your dog was acting more normal very quickly. After watching the video and feel more reassured. Thank you 😊.

The vet gave my puppy a shot few days ago. She was tired the next day. I was so happy because she was so calm. I got a break!

Did you noticed hematoma around the surgery site?
Or uneasy or shy to pee, coz ours have been neutered two days ago, first night was tiring for us coz we had to monitor bleeding etc. i notice hematoma around the site and did hot and cold compress.
Continues medication, the two were hesitant to pee, the other one did on his diapers. But now we left them with no diapers as per vet.
Theyre also not comfortable to eat idk why, but theyd love to be given food by syringe.
I remember when my dog got fixed it was just interesting experience he hated his cone

lmao no! not really! he is a little less aggressive but that’s pretty much all! it has been 5 1/2 years since he got the procedure but i would recommend doing what your vet recommends

my dog got fixed today and I can't stand how bad he is feeling. He seems all depressed and won't move. He acts like a statue. I think it's cause he ran into things already and it scares the hell out of him
Rosco did really good! Where do you get the Donut ? The Vet or a store ? My German Shepherd mix is getting Nuetered on Monday. I’m off for 9 days with him. Can’t wait to get it over with. Been kind of stressed about this.

So with the donuts people be careful when they sleep. If they lay straight face down you'll see them constantly moving because it squeezes their necks. I used the cone for limited time. Get some baby 1'z's and cut a hole for the tail. Best advice you have to spend the couple days close as possible to them

Quick Question so we can take them out for a walk in the grass so they can use the restroom. And the recovery time is about a week?
The vet told us letting him walk in the grass was fine. In our experience, it took a week for him to recover.

Hi hi. My dog is currently in recovery from his neutering and it has been the biggest struggle because he wants to run and play especially missing jumping onto the couch.

As you saw from the video Rosco was the same way 🙂 We let him act more normally after about 4 days from what I remember.

I keep saying my dog Chewie should get neutered to my mum and sister but they want him to have puppies with my neighbours dog which is a bad idea he once got into a fight with another dog in the other dogs territory so I think he should do it quickly
Question: did Roscoe mark territory before his surgery or after?
He does it occasionally even now, but marking was never something Rosco did much even before his surgery.

@@sewruffnstuff7466 Bane was 8 years old and he hasn't had really any personality changes! He's only the slightest bit more calm but hardly noticeable. He's very happy!

How did you handle potty breaks? Through the week and the first day?
We just took him out normally throughout the day. At first he was a bit dizzy walking around but he gradually recovered.

My 6 pound maltese is getting neutered as I type this he only has one descended testicle so he has to have more invasive surgery, he’s 6 months old. Today is 4/15/21

@@gursharnbhatti6522 he did great took a little longer to heal, I had to keep him pretty quiet in the beginning but he bounced back to his old playful happy self pretty quickly!

He probably won't get much bigger than he is now. He's 9 months and weighs almost 8 lbs.

I was nervous when Rosco got neutered too, but he recovered super quickly and we're really glad we did it.

well you would be the worst owner ever if most pet owner weren't just as bad, I don't know what it is with pet owners, they just seem to be on average extremely bad people
it must be the slave owner mentality pushing them to become pet owners, I mean seriously, the average life of a pet is the plot of a horror movie with a bad ending, they get ripped away from their parents at birth, then they get abducted against their will, and their "owner" one day decides to castrate them because they read online it "lowers the chance they might succesfully escape your home", no wonder they are trying to flee
I would say "put yourself in their shoes", but that's dumb, empathy is clearly not a trait pet owners are born with, so you wouldn't get it

Man I feel so bad for my dog, hes got an actual criminal record of violence against my brother abd if he gets bit again he'll get put dow, so we're gonna get his balls removed. I feel bad for doing this but i'd rather have him ball-less than put down. Still though it feels wrong
