Thanks!!! Very clear explanation. I spent close to 30 min figuring it out. Since one of my router holes was covered with dust, I was not able to see the three holes that would align with my new Bosch router table plate. The manual does not clearly show this piece. Your video did the trick.

Makes perfect sense. Three points of contact are all you need for a stable base of connection. Thx for the update!

Thank you! I bought the various pieces of this router table online for pennies on the dollar. No manuals. This got me going!

And you meet 3/4” long 10-24 screws to mount it. Not the 4mm that came on the factory ring base.

I don't recall which screws I used, I have to check. However the screws I used were supplied.

Thanks, I thought I was using the correct holes on the plate. The manual's diagram looks different than the plate's holes. Chinese diagram illustrator needs glasses. Now it all makes sense. Thanks!

    Hello fellow TH-camrs.
Google is getting ready to demonetize small channels like mine.
Make no mistake, this is not a money maker, maybe pennies.
However, I would love to grow my channel.
If you found this video helpful, please subscribe and I can do the same to help you grow your channel.
Thank you, I am truly grateful!

you can rotate the router 180 in the fixed base so that the switch and speed control are easier to access

You make an excellent point, and I don't recall why I did it that way.
While I am right handed, I make the adjustments with my left.
Maybe the power cord was hitting the back wall, I'm not sure.
Now I am going to go back down stairs and see if I like it that way.
Thanks for the comment as I will report back on that one as it's been so long since I did the first video!

Any hints on leveling the insert....I am doing mine for the first time and I am a bit frustrated as I want it perfect of course..

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question.
      So three parts to this.
      1) When you adjust the leveling screws, adjust the router plate slightly higher than it needs to be.
Then, when you tighten down the router plate, it will pull the plate down.
You don't need to sock it down, just enough so it doesn't move.
You can tighten it, until the router plate is perfect.
      2) The in-feed side of the router plate, I have it a hair lower than the table.
The reason being is so when feeding the work piece in, it doesn't snag.
      Remember, just a hair!
      3) on the out-feed side of the router plate, have it just a hair higher.
That way, the work piece doesn't hit the table when feeding out.
      Remember, just a hair!
Technically, it should be perfectly level, and that's what you should go for.
However, we live in an imperfect world, so that' how I roll. :)
      Thanks for stopping by!
Did you see the link to my original video?

@@m3rdpwr Thanks yeah when i tightened with the non-leveling screws it seemed to sync everything up. I will keep in mind the "lower-higher" in case I notice any binding. I just did my first rabbets today/plywood seemed pretty good. Not sure I have enough projects to justify this thing taking up space but the price was not bad i guess. :

      @@kenmcf no problem, good luck!
Lowe's had a huge clearance on all router bits, so I got anywhere from 50 to 75% off the good Irwin marples router bits.
