    Just ordered one of these on amazon and figured i'd look for a video. Yours was the only one I found that actually was 1. about the correct model (regardless of what video titles said) and 2. was comprehensive enough to actually understand the situation! Sadly I think this is still a "bare minimum" router table, and all the plastic is concerning, but my needs are pretty simple, and I think it'll work well enough for what I'm needing. Thanks for taking the time to make the full video!

    The shims are for the left side of your fence to joint boards.

      Thank you, I "assumed" they were there to make some adjustments but I even resorted to the directions and didn't see anything about them in there. Thanks for watching and again thanks for the information.

    I have this table for over a year and it's a good one for weekend projects. A nice addition not mentioned is the two legs have storage compartments where can keep most accessories stowed away. I run a 1/2 - inch Hitachi router so it will accept other routers not only the Bosch. It's best to check if can mount yours before buying. Should know the fence and the bolts don't get any easier to setup in the slot holes with time. So far having lived with it for a time is a good one.

    Great video, thanks for putting this assembly together. I just received the same products from Home Depot today. Was able to put table together today.

      Glad it helped, the instructions were pretty crappy that came with the one I got. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.

    Shims are to place against the fence to use the routing table as a small jointer.

      No problem, I had the "kobalt" version... Had.... lol This setup so much better and easier to use, not to mention more power. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.

    BTW those shims are for spacing out the fence I believe, they slide in between the fence and the rear fence mount.

    I'm thinking of integrating the tabletop to my workbench. Do the legs disattach from the top? And approx how thick is the table top? Thank you!

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The top is 1" thick and a few screws you could remove the top from the legs. Could easily fabricate legs, a stand or even make a drop in for a tabletop. Thanks for watching, hope that helps.

      No it should have come with a small allen key with a handle on it. in the front left side should be a hole, you unlock the router, insert the key and turn it up and down.

    nice review…did you buy the pan head screws for mounting the plate or did they come with router? if not…what size are those screws …m4, m5 etc??

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It did come with the screws, had a little pack with a few different sizes in there. Did not check the size, sorry can't help you with that. Luckily I am a bolt hoarder anyhow, so if for some reason it didn't come with them I most likely have them somewhere in a pile. lol Thanks for watching, sorry can't help you on the size.

    Are you going to make any how to use videos, we have a lot of the same stuff and I'm a beginner.

      Most likely I will, I haven't done it yet since I am basically teaching myself and going to TH-cam University... Lol People are ruthless on here when you do something wrong, they let you know real quick. Are you looking for something in particular?

      How about building a workbench with shelves using a table saw, miter saw and router?

    Wait you used pan head screws but then the video cut and the pan heads were gone and you were using the flat machine head screws without explanation. I'm guessing the pan heads were too bulky.

    • @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re
      @PoppysWoodworking-vb7re  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Been a few months now since I did the video but yes it should be flat machine screws. Most likely grabbed the wrong ones to start with trying to record and put it together and when I edited it down just cut the part out where I put the correct ones back in. James Cameron I am not... Thanks for watching and pointing that out if someone else needs the info.

      Thank you for the video!@@PoppysWoodworking-vb7re Actually it looks like it has to be pan-head screws that came in a bag with the table. If you check the maual on Page 13 on the photo (Fig. 6) they show pan-head screws. Also on Pages 9-10, where they list all the screws, under each pan-head screw they wrote "for Router". Underneath the plate on the MDF they have special grooves for the pan-head screws so they don't get in a way and the plate could sit flat.

      Hi and yes, it should be the the pan head screws. I noticed that too and thanks for the video. Did you mahe a follow up video on actual routing?

      Budget tools have limitations... lol I don't use it enough to justify spending a ton of money on it. If it was an "everyday" tool I used I would have spent a few hundred more and got a bigger better table. Thanks for dropping a comment sorry took a while to reply.
