Best thing i ever did was started a business. Never have someone tell me what I’m qualified or not qualified for a entry level customer service or retail job again 😁✌🏽

I always wanted my own business. Never wanted to work for anyone, wanted to be my own boss. I want to start an online business, on Shopify platform. But finding a good drop shipping company is hard.

Sooooo do these people want employees or not?

Some of them repost the job if they don't find a candidate they like or they will just go short-staffed. I've seen it happen because other employees have to pick up the slack!

and remember, there are so many people with terrible resumes but they can do their jobs 10 times better than the liers

Ever since Covid jobs just really don’t care and it’s crazy that I didn’t get a job that’s under staff, but the interview was late as soon as I told my dreams and goals it was over because I did not have dreams and goals as a food runner for the rest of my life

When the job listing says 5+ years for an entry level position, it makes sense to apply anyway.

In my experience I get the most callbacks when it looks like I barely tried to get the job. When you tailor your resume to a job, attempt to sells yourself, or explain yourself, I imagine they think 'Wow, this person seems desperate to get this job. This job must be more than they are worth.'

Hopefully, this lady could make a video on unconscious bias or implicit bias in the hiring process. As a former recruiter, I bet she has some interesting stories with respect to whether people get denied based on race, ethnic sounding names, ECT.

Another reason you didn't mention. They find something about you on social media that they didn't like.

    • @NYRyder1983

Yup. They use social media to discriminate against a candidate.

When the recruiters contact you for an opportunity, doesn't tell you anything of the position or anything, but want an updated CV.
Also, recruiters that is cold-calling you, just to get through their targets of candidates, even if the position is not relevant for your career.

Worst thing is you don’t enough experience then you apply for a entry level job and your overly qualified. Yeah me 🤷🏻‍♂️😸

You're delusional if you think that "tailoring each resume" to the thousands of job postings will make the slightest difference other than wasting your own time. Start your own business for $6 by building a website. Then just put whatever you want into it. Give yourself some crazy position

@Sander Mark Unzo Some companies post fake job ads. Others will need people but nobody wants to go through the process of calling people in for interviews. I saw this at my old job. Lazy management. They complain nobody is applying but than they'll not look for applicants.

Trivia question? Recruiters need to chill TFO. Aint nobody got time for your hoops.

I have been applying to a lot of public agencies and I find their systems are much more structured. They go off of applications, not resumes. They specifically ask for a chronological listing of your experience. They don’t provide opportunities to list accomplishments. I still provide my resume (with applications) and a customized cover letter. In these scenarios it can be difficult to stand out. Can you do a video specifically for public sector jobs?

I heard back from three hospitals and have alot of experience as a CNA and they kept rejecting my resume. Their excuse that they found applicants that have more experience than me? I have been a CNA for 28 years? I mean come on I just don't believe it because I have to see these CNAs have more experience than me?? But that's their regular excuses over and over. These employers can be kind of crude and very dishonest with certain people and it really hurts. Im also a student and I will finish my degree in psychology and will be blessed with a very good job as a mental health counselor. Then I will relocate towards the Midwest cause the people there are much nicer and better and will hired.

Without a proper strategy, finding a job in 2024 can feel impossible. That's why I've created TH-cam tutorials to help educators explore new career paths and stand out to employers.

I am trying to follow up with a job but there’s no contact info and it’s unclear who the best person to reach out to on linked in is. Would it be bad to send a few different people the same message on linked in?
