    Those were the times: great action, great actors, fantastic scores, no politics, everything was possible, lead actors were always great simple guys. Watching these as a kid was always great.

    I saw Terminator in 1984 and was blown away, when Commando and then Predator came out, I knew that Arnie would be the biggest movie star in the world. I saw Predator without any background preview and was genuinely staggered by the brilliant story line, the fantastic film sets, the now legendary Predator monster, the SFX quality, and of course Arnies screen charisma. He was very fortunate as well to have very good movie production people around him. James Cameron and his film crew in particular.

    I was lucky enough to be on vacation in Pureto Vallarta, Mexico in early summer 1986 during the filming of Predador. Specifically, we watched the helicopter beach landings on Mismaloya Beach. These landings and take offs went on for a couple of days. At first we thought it was some sort of military exercise. 3 or 4 Huey helicopters swooping in fast and low over a beach will really get your attention. One day we went to the beach to see what was going on. With all of the cameras and crew we obviously knew they were filming a movie but no one could tell us what movie it was or who was in it. We went down there at least 2 days to watch. We had no idea what we were watching or what it would become. I didn't actually see Arnold jumping out of a helo or anything like that. It wasn't until I saw the movie over a year later that I realized we were eye witnessing the opening scenes of the original (and best IMHO) Predator movie. It was pretty cool to see it. Now, every time I watch Predator it brings back memories of me and my family sitting on that beautiful beach with total chaos all around us. Pretty cool...

    So much love and chemistry in the team. Man... not just the fantastic movie, but fantastic team. And one thing that resonates immensely, if it's truly like that and I tend to believe it based on other responses, that Arnold helps others. Both actors and others. Not taking over all the best lines, especially for a well known one-liner giant like Arnold, says a lot about personality and professionalism. Mad props. It's like sharing part of your star potential with someone and I am not sure I could do that in every case.

      @@hardcorehouse not to forget Total Recall was great, and Commando is a classic 80s action movie

    • @hardcorehouse
      @hardcorehouse ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Commando and total recall were entertaining, however I suspect most wouldnt put them in the top few; i dont. Commando was corny at times, almost like a Sylvester Stallone formula movie. Total recall was quirky, weird and interesting. Predator number one for me, then both the Terminators are the only ones that are all time sci-fi classics in the category of planet of the apes, clockwork Orange, Blade Runner, road warrior. Some of us no Arnold far back from most of you; I saw him live up close person backstage at the 76 Mr. Universal of Montreal when he was widely known in bodybuilding/cult circles. In some ways it's not really that remarkable what he did, because every top bodybuilder of his generation went into the movies; where this was different was partially luck and then he got very lucky with a highly town is up up-and-coming director plus Schwarzenegger had his own charm. No one talks about his big upsides like the 13 women he groped, as hes been able to spin and americans prefer to have icons not messy stories
