I have all the respect in the world for this man. The conditions on that set were terrible. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable it must of been in that costume. Yet, with total professionalism, he managed to create the most iconic movie villain of all-time. RIP KPH
Gone too soon. He is and always will be The Predator. I also think he did a marvelous as Harry in Harry and the Hendersons (1987), Prophecy (1979) as the mutant bear monster, and of course the Monster in Monster in the closet ( circa 1986-1989).
I still can’t believe the same guy played Harry and Predator. He had a phenomenal gift for breathing a totally believable alien life into life forms that don’t exist.
He was the best predator, that guy was a giant, wow, a awesome gentle giant who also played Harry in Harry and the Henderson's, I also remember him in a short lived series on NBC back in the 80s called Misfits of science, really awesome dude, too bad he died so young, R.I.P BRO and thanks for your great work.
After seeing this, and reading up on Kevin Peter Hall, I’ve deduced that he was a positive force to all around him. And my heart is broken 30 years later, and I wish he was still here.
RIP to both to the best Predator ever Kevin Peter Hall and his creator Stan Winston :(. Its crazy to think that for a movie released back in 1987 has aged so beautifully. everytime i watch the movie i still hope for these characters (even Dillion) to survive. Kevin Peter hall played the predator so well (despite the fact that he couldn't see well in that costume) he played the part so well. everyone played their parts so well.
absolute legend. I dont think anyone after him nailed his movement. He gave the predator a kind of grace and mysterious feel. And I miss that along with the original look in the sequels that came after p2.
The 1980s were the best in so many ways, no better time to be a kid: the movies, cartoons, music, toys, cereals, video games, malls, arcades, record shops, comic book stores, Chuck e Cheese, fast food, tree forts, BMX, Skateboarding, bermuda shorts, so many things peaked in the 80s
And it wasn’t mind controlling like it is now with the smart phones............I truly believe that a lot of younger people are developing artificial forms of autism and ADD from these devices.........anyway PREDATOR was an masterpiece!
THIS is the proof of why CGI never looks real or right. kevin peter hall not only is a total legend but really did insert that SPARK inside what would otherwise just be a suit or series of computer graphic animations. its because we dont have kevins nowadays that movies just arent as good.
@Mox Fulder Yeah but movies dont have the GEM/ SPARK like they used to. Movies today are boring af and unorginal I personally prefer movies recorded in actual locations. Just looks better man.

You got to give this guy real acting credit for this role. Every single movement of his made this villain really super scary. RIP...you are part of movie history and remembered for it.
Love his comments at 4:07. The special FX of the movie were amazing, but Kevin Peter Hall's fluid movements, his posture, the physicality he brought to the role, is just something you can't replicate with makeup or foam or any ingredients. I love the part in the movie where the Predator and Arnold are circling one another, at night, down near the river, and the Predator crouches down and extends his arms, getting ready to fight. They definitely cast the perfect actor for that role!
Whoa! Now the original 'predator' truly has an equally amazing human face..and voice! Such credit is due to so many who are 'behind the scenes'. Thank you so much for this video. 😊👍
Wow, he put a lot of thought and physical effort into an EPIC performance. True spirit in his performance. God Bless his Soul ... he did an amazing job, being so good at bringing the bad guy to ilfe !
He mentioned that he wasn't sure if what he was trying to portray would come across with the suit on. You guys remember that scene where he's just about to catch Arnie and he pops that claw? You don't even see his head. Just the body language - "now you're gonna die."
@Mirsad Redzovic It happened back then. The legendary Sci-Fi author Isaac Asimov died in a similar fashion. Blood transfusions tainted with HIV while undergoing surgery.
Arthur Ashe became the first (and remains the only) African American male tennis player to win the U.S. Open and Wimbledon singles titles. He was also the first African American man to earn the No. 1 ranking in the world and the first to earn induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame. Always an activist, when Ashe learned that he had contracted AIDS via a blood transfusion, he turned his efforts to raising awareness about the disease, before finally succumbing to it on February 6, 1993.

Kevin Peter Hall is a legend for all times! I grew up in awe of Predator and Predator 2. I don't think anybody could have whooped on Schwarzenegger or Glover back in the '80s with such ridiculous bad-ass ease. Quite possibly the coolest-looking alien I'd ever seen, for sure. And don't forget how much of that Gentle Giant kindness he brought to the role of Harry in Harry and the Hendersons. One of the reasons I continue to oppose the over-digitalization of movie monsters nowadays is that character actors like KPH MADE those movies what they were. They have the talent to give aliens and other monsters way more depth than they might otherwise get to express.

I have all the respect in the world for this man. The conditions on that set were terrible. I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable it must of been in that costume. Yet, with total professionalism, he managed to create the most iconic movie villain of all-time. RIP KPH
The Predator and Harry, two very different but indelible creatures played by Mr. Hall, may he rest in peace. ❤
💪😎
Gone too soon. He is and always will be The Predator. I also think he did a marvelous as Harry in Harry and the Hendersons (1987), Prophecy (1979) as the mutant bear monster, and of course the Monster in Monster in the closet ( circa 1986-1989).
@maxx schooler yep
I still can’t believe the same guy played Harry and Predator. He had a phenomenal gift for breathing a totally believable alien life into life forms that don’t exist.
So nice, that somebody thinks off that! :-)
He played on 227 a few times too
He also portrayed the alien in the super scary movie, Without Warning.
After seeing this, and reading up on Kevin Peter Hall, I’ve deduced that he was a positive force to all around him. And my heart is broken 30 years later, and I wish he was still here.
He set the pace for all of the future Predators. Awesome.
This is the best action movie ever ,no other movie will ever get close.
I don't know. Fried green tomatoes was pretty crazy.
common do it
chuck norris films
are better

“Am I a joke to you?”
One of the best sci fi movies ever made with the most perfect cast. They were all brilliant.
No CGI needed..awesome
1. They used CGI in the original Predator
2. CGI is not bad. Bad CGI is bad.
I have total respect for actors who play these kind of roles. The monster is always memorable. Rest in peace.
Brite lights lol
A kid? I had a hell of a time as an adult!
@@user-tj3wr6dj4d - " BIG CITY ?" LOL
And it wasn’t mind controlling like it is now with the smart phones............I truly believe that a lot of younger people are developing artificial forms of autism and ADD from these devices.........anyway PREDATOR was an masterpiece!
I've lived through 60 years and today world is in the toilet.. 50s,60s,70s,80s, even early 90s very good, after 2000 forget it..!!!
Kevin was the tallest at 7' 2" of seven brothers who were all over 6' 5" in height . RIP Kevin you died too young.
Big dude.
@@erwino8618 he had a sister too not sure what height.
He wasn't 7'2.
Not with an amazing personality like that. More like 12 feet tall😏
Wow! A family full of giants. A whole basketball team.
Gentle giant.
Kevin Peter Hall really made it work. Fantastic performance 😎👍
This movie has aged so well, and it’s funny to think a guy so light hearted played an alien so terrifying.
That is the scale we balance. Good looking dude too.
It seems like good guys play the best bad guys.
@@BlueAlien1313 gay
He's not alien. He's predator.
@@celospiky329 but predator is alien.
Damn that suit must have been so miserably hot and sweaty and he's wearing it in the JUNGLE, what a beast!
Imagine the smell inside that thing. Hope they had different ones during the duration of filming 😂😂😂
It's impressive how good the suit looks in full light. Most suits need to be lit right to be believable.
True testament to Winston's craft
Imagine if you didn’t know the movie and saw it out in the forest!

@Karl with a K When? 1987?
@Karl with a K 😆
Back in the day, when they still made worth watching, unlike today.
yea
Nahh subjective
THIS is the proof of why CGI never looks real or right. kevin peter hall not only is a total legend but really did insert that SPARK inside what would otherwise just be a suit or series of computer graphic animations. its because we dont have kevins nowadays that movies just arent as good.
Exactly, now tell NASA that.
@Mox Fulder Yeah but movies dont have the GEM/ SPARK like they used to. Movies today are boring af and unorginal
I personally prefer movies recorded in actual locations. Just looks better man.
@Mox Fulder Yeah but it's crap
CGI is not the problem.Bad CGI and CGI in movies with bad scripts and bad acting is the problem.
@@JR-ju3kj you just described 97% of all CGI scenes
Proud to say I own an autographed portrait of Arni holding the nube tube. I prolly watch this movie at least once a year lol
The best sci-fi action movie ever made.
One of my favorite movies! That guy did an impressive, act with that suit on, made predator so believable!
This guy will forever be one of my favorite actors of all time! R.I.P. bro! You were the Predator and I don’t think anyone will ever pull off like you did!
I said this about Peter (Chewbacca) and I feel the same way about Kevin. They nailed it without speech. Body language was everything and they nailed it! God Bless Ya Guys!
He has a very good HEART, i hope everyone will be just like him..
That suit was probably extremely horrid to wear all day. But he is one of the most iconic movie monsters ever. Everyone knows the predator when they see it. Nobody could play that part better. RIP to KPH
never heared such a loving memory of a person off so many people,he must have been a great person rip
Im gutted didnt know he had died.

One of my absolute favourite films of all time. Sorry Kevin is no longer with us. I always wondered who played the part of the Predator. Awesome character made possible by a great actor. RIP mate.
Treat to know behind the scenes character of Kevin peter Hall. Amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹
Thanks kevin! Predator was one of the cultural touchstones of my group of friends at time! Godspeed!
Whoa! Now the original 'predator' truly has an equally amazing human face..and voice!
Such credit is due to so many who are 'behind the scenes'.
Thank you so much for this video. 😊👍
What a lovley man. So sorry that he died. He'll always be remembered in his wonderful films 💜
Predator,I watch this movie over and over again
Wow, he put a lot of thought and physical effort into an EPIC performance. True spirit in his performance.
God Bless his Soul ... he did an amazing job, being so good at bringing the bad guy to ilfe !
He mentioned that he wasn't sure if what he was trying to portray would come across with the suit on. You guys remember that scene where he's just about to catch Arnie and he pops that claw? You don't even see his head. Just the body language - "now you're gonna die."
I have seen this movie at least 20 times, what a masterpiece
It is the classic and first the best of this Predator genre.
Predator still the only movie in the series worthy of classic status.
Terminator 2 is classic status too
Predator 2 rocked?....no?
@philz2002 i'd go 4/5 but yes i agree
@philz2002 Thats definitely a good score system there....lets see if you agree with this one....First Blood 6/5?
@philz2002 Jesus Man!!! its my absolute favourite....so close between choosing this and Predator....you gotta watch it tonight sir...honestly
Best Predator movie ever!!
The way he moves at 2:50 look at his posture, look at the way his arm and wrists are pointing with his gauntlet. He truly is the spark.
It's sad such a great guy died so young and because of an accident too. He'll always live on from his legendary performance in Predator.
@Mirsad Redzovic He was involved in a car accident and received a blood that was contaminated with HIV. He died of pneumonia.
Yeah really messed up what happened. Almost seemed like a set up
@Mirsad Redzovic It happened back then.

This movie is forever a classic
Ain't got time to bleed
I remember when I was about 8 I saw this movie. I almost rooted for the predator because I thought he was so cool. Absolutely one of the best movies of my young days
Do anyone remember Harry and the Hendersons. A 80's movie. He was the actor playing Harry the Big foot creature.
I did not know that till now
Learn something new everyday 👍
Great movie haha
Loved that movie!!!!
He played the midget Nick Nack in Bond also.
This movie is in my collection, Just watched it again last night for the umpteenth time, it never gets old, its like watching it for the first time😃
the scariest thing about the first Predator movie was Billy's laugh.
I saw it when I was 8 (1988) it was pretty scary at that age. Woodpeckers put the fear of the Pred in me back then for a while.
"We're all gonna die.."
Billy was the second scariest character after the Predator 😁
"If it bleeds, we can kill it!
Agree!
When movies used a real person in a real suit instead of CGI.. I love the result!
Never see it again, big men like Kevin Peter Hall are overlooked for shitty graphics. G'Day from shithole w.a. australia
Predator came out in 1987 you fuckin doorknob.
all the fake u used to see wasnt fake, today all u see is an illusion
@Colton R i suggest to watch "superior firepower" the behind the scenes of aliens movie, there u can also see how marvellous was the job done to create that movie, u can find it for free on utube
Agreed, they should have used suits for the new TMNT movies as well.
Very great movie .Thanks Kevin Peter Hall ....
After my wife watched Predator she said "I feel like I understand you more." One of the best movies ever made. Thank you Kevin!
it is!
Did she take you for a predator?
What happened to him is beyond tragic. Fantastic human being.
Very nice dude, always laughing. He enjoyed his job very much. R.I.P. man, you are missed
Two Art Legends, Stan Winston and Kevin Peter Hall. God I miss these two. Great Upload, love these.

Just watched it, yet AGAIN! 3AM HBO
A TRUE MASTERPIECE... A FOREVER CLASSIC! Many generations will enjoy this!!!
The story of his death is so sad.He seemed like a really nice guy.RIP Kevin
I wish all of humanity was like Kevin...
