Removing Rapid Spin and Defog without nerfing Stealth Rock. Game Freak seems to love this move.

If you choose Pikachu instead of Eevee, you're just wrong.
Funny... somehow I knew this before i knew that they got their own moves. (Because Eevee is just much better than pikachu as a cute pokemon lol)
Damage-Beats I just actually do think that eevee is infinitely cuter than Pikachu and immediately would’ve chosen Let’s Go Eevee over Pikachu.

I know I was wrong to get LGP... but because of it, I actually started to like Pikachu. It's an adorable pokemon. However, I never got into competitive LGP because of Pikachu... It's a double edged sword.
Uhh, guys Eevee is better because of Heal Bell Attack and Sappy Seed.

Sayvion Washington Yeah, I didn’t like how stealth rocks push Pokémon up and down tiers in the normal game. I can’t believe that was the one hazard they added.
I don't understand why they let stealth rock stay and not spikes or toxic spikes and worse, the moves that can counter it (Rapid Spin and Defog)
Frogss the reason was to balance the legendary birds. Without rocks, the meta would be centralized around every team running a mega plus a legend. At least this way, teams are only centred around the megas.

People need to use the TCPI rules more often.Melmetal And Mew are stupidly broken that it’s not even funny.Mega Alakazam And Aerodactyl are IMO the two best Pokémon in the tier and I get to use my two unconventional Pokémon Victrebell and Wigglytuff
My most used team is Mega Aerodactyl(Powerful Attacker And Rock Setter)Dragonite(Agility Sweeper)Victrebell(Sleeper And Swords Dance Sweeper with Sucker Pumch)Wigglytuff(Support Mon with coverage)Starmie(Fast Special Attacker) And Snorlax(Bulky Special Tank with Yawn)
This team has been with me for dozens of battles and I can always change up a member with Mons such as Nidoking,Gengar,Gyrados,Mega Beedrill,Dodrio,Starter Eevee,Slowbro or even kingler

*Hol up*
Teleport had buffed mechanics starting in LGPE, which carried over into Gen 8. Similar to Defog in the way that it got buffed from being a useless move into an extremely useful meta move. Teleport is a non damaging negative priority U-Turn, to be exact.

The best thing of Let's Go is that you can put clothes in a Pokémon that is competitively viable.
For me, the biggest turnoff about Let's Go battling is the lack of hazard removal despite the fact that fucking Stealth Rock exists. The absence of abilities is a close second though, especially since you still have Mega Evolutions.

I really appreciate Let's Go having its own unique meta, even if the strict adherence to Kanto-only Pokey (+ Meltan/Melmetal) killed me.

@@arthurroth2630 I wouldn't say solved as people are still innovating at high level play- in our most recent tournament people brought both new sets (dual screens + transform mew, for example) and underrepresented mons (like mega zard y) and won with them! We definitely don't have a solved meta yet.
Are there any Gen 1 former heavyweights(Chansey, exeggutor, Starmie, etc.) Aside from the ones in the video that are still good?

You want Zapdos, MegaBeedrill and other tanks(like Melmetal) to be omnipressent and almost unkillable? Or have midgame heavy switcheroos where turns are just wasted on prediction? You sure you actually played G1 and 2?
@@MakoShiruba I think it would be different for a single reason: no EV's and lack of leftovers. The main cause of the changing dance is because in the first two gens your pokemon are a lot bulkier, ergo changing is safer, specially for cleaners like houndoom or Tauros. In gen two we have also leftovers, so spikes damage was negated. Changing in Let's go instead is riskier because of the frailer pokemon.
Also, Melmetal is a huge problem in Let's Go in part because of the fire type lacking, as well as focus blast; Charizard-Y and Moltres could Counter Melmetal without Stealth rocks easily, but with rocks, is just stupid to use them in first place. With Melmetal and rocks, few things can truly shine in let's go, and that's not what pokemon is about at all.
The Pokemon TH-cam Trinity has come together. Now all we gotta do is find a way to add shofu in.

Kind of sad that the meta for Let's Go consists mainly of 'buff EVERYTHING' or no candy at all. The fact that the candy system lets you customize stats to such a degree could result in a meta where everything has some form of niche thanks to all Pokemon having individual candy caps imposed on them.
I get WHY that isn't a thing of course (that would be an absolute fucking nightmare to playtest for a game that isn't all that popular in the Pokemon fanbase to begin with) but it would have been interesting to see how it would have played out if more people were willing to put in the time testing that.
Then it would just become the EV system

@@pooppooper9033 Then... it's still the EV system. That's just like proposing that OU pokemon only get 300 EVs, UU get 350, RU gets 400, NU gets 450 and so on. And no one's tried it with EVs, so it probably won't be tried in this much less popular metagame. I guess it could work, but then it might just turn into being in a lower tier buffing a pokemon to be broken and now they need to be moved up and are too weak, which is the same issue that modern Smogon faces.
Mewtwo is banned? Would have fooled me since its on every single team
Well Gamefreak believes all Pokémon are equal so it can be used in online battles on the Switch but FSG doesn't care about the in-Game-Rules unless he is covering VGC, he is obliviously talking about Smogon's Let's Go OU.

@@hecatomb1864 Oooooh yeah. I usually only go back for battle points at the end if each season or battling with friends. Otherwise yeah I'm just waiting for crown tundra when the meta hopefully stabilizes( I know it won't since they had to ban mons on console).

@@groudongamer3178 the irony is that crown tundra totally f*cked the s&s meta rather than stabilizing it. So much for removing pokemon for CoMpeTiTiVe bAlAnCE I really kinda liked the pre crown tundra meta a lot but now everyone uses the same boring core of fini, eleki, landorus, (insert choice ultra beast here), cinderace and mimikyu/whomever for the last slot. My motivation to play online in s&s and even in showdown has almost completely been drained. Hope in the next online series they ban the top 10 again...
Looking forward to the talk on Pokémon Go meta. As someone who’s currently has Go as their meta of choice, it’ll be great to see others learn about the strategic elements within the meta.

When I get my hands on that game, I'm DEFINITELY getting the Eevee one, for two reasons:
1. I love Eevee and the Eeveelutions, and they're adorable.
2. Eevee was actually supposed to be the Starter in Yellow, so that game finally made up after over 20 years of playing the original game!

But I don't think FSG would cover any Game which doesn't allow PvP-Battles and considering Pokémon almost only the main games have any PvP interaction.

I am interested in the topic, but you only need a glance to conclude how much of a joke the metagame is.
I especially don’t want to see the candy system make a return because that adds more work to make something competitively viable and not as customizable since it’s in your interest to buff up every stat.
EDIT: You can’t take them online, yes, but I hardly see the point to remove the EV system and introduce this new system when the main campaign hardly raises any challenge. I’ve never played the game, but I can tell some people have a lot of fun with it casually and competitively. But it’s bare mechanics and not a lot of customization that make a metagame stale and uninteresting. I’m only trying to say that I don’t want this to happen to a mainline game.
Aint that hard tbh. You can find golden thingamajicks to max out all DVs and to max out the stat you just need to chain a lot of the mon which you kinda wanna do anyway. I have more competetively viable teams in LGPE than in US&M, without even playing it competetively. Just by shiny farming.

This game was just meh in almost every aspect from gameplay to presentation. The only thing I enjoyed truly was the Eevee and Pikachu petting LOL. Also POKEAIM HYPE, he better be in the how good was Aipom and Ambipom when it actually happens.
I bought the game for my young cousin, ready to hate it, and to pass time before Ultimate came out... I now have 617h of playtime shiny hunting
Playing alone is pretty lackluster but we built a very friendly community on FB where we had shiny hunt races, shared tips, hosted tournaments and had custom gyms. That easily made the game 10x as good.

I’ve played a number of Let’s Go side events at internationals and Worlds. Mew/Mewtwo/Meltan/Melmetal are banned and we used normal rules. It was pretty fun. Shame you didn’t put this video out earlier-the most participants I think we ever had was 9 or 10.

What I really like from Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee are the pokemon sizes. Mega Gyarados looks so big and others too, but mostly the former!
