    • @Crimson_Valor
      @Crimson_Valor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skeeter Mania Pokémon is turn-based game, so that means one person has to go before the other. Who goes first is decided by how high their Pokémon’s speed is. So if you have 2 Pokémon, one with 150 speed and one with 100 speed, the one with 150 will move first because it’s higher.
      Trick room is a move that for the next 5 turns after it’s activated, the speed values are flipped. Each Pokémon keeps its speed value, but now the value means the opposite of what is displayed. So now the Pokémon with 100 speed will move before the one with 150 speed, because it’s speed is lower.
      So if this was applied to running speed in smash, Sonic would become the slowest and Incineroar would be the fastest.
      TL;DR- Trick room makes the Pokémon with lower speed move first, with the exception of priority moves.

    Anyone who uses Dracovish and Barraskewda a lot better pray to Arceus that Red Orb and by extension Primal Groudon don't return in the dlc...
    Desolate Land takes away both pokemon's strongest moves, and Primal Groudon's physical bulk is too much for them to take it out easily.
    Also, when Lando T inevitably returns, Eiscue with Belly Drum and Icicle Crash is possibly a good counter, as Ice Face ensures a free Belly Drum, and Eiscue's base speed jumps to 130 (which is higher than Lando T's 91 base speed) when Ice Face is broken.

    • @aeroblaze4
      @aeroblaze4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luckily primal Groudon checks zacian which would otherwise dominate the Uber tier.

      Turn 1: Lando T uses Stone Edge, Eiscue takes no damage that turn because of Ice Face and Ice Face Breaks, then Eiscue use Belly Drum, giving it +5 attack (not +6 because Lando T's intimidate drops it to -1 before he uses it).
      Turn 2: Lando T uses Stone Edge again (because it's scarfed), Eiscue survives due to Focus Sash, uses Icicle Crash (or if you want to ensure the KO, dynamax before using it), Lando T gets KO'd.

    As a long time player of doubles and singles the best advice I can give a new player is to develop stronger eyes every time you play. You have to be able to see what's behind, in front, and ahead. What happened in the last turn(s)? What can happen this turn? What are the consequences? What are you planning and how can their options and the effect of luck change this plan?
    Another important strategy is follow through. If you have a plan laid out for victory you are going to have to commit to it. This doesn't mean change something if they act a little differently, it means that if you know the path to victory you are going to have to stick to it. Don't choke or throw the game, don't rely on a low expected value option, and don't freeze up and forget. Make your scheme from start to finish and follow through with it. That is the way to victory and, most importantly, getting better

    When you start doing swordandshield stuff, you might make a video covering all the pokemon you've already done up till now in one go, the relevant ones in the meta anyways. Curious if dynamax had any effect on them

    I also think you missed something important about matchup knowledge- the fact that as you play, you can cut potential sets from the partners on a team. If my opponent has a team that looks weak to stall outside of a potential taunt hydreigon, I'm going to expect taunt hydreigon.

    This was a very interesting video. I'm watching the Twitch tournament right now and it's really cool to see some of the ideas being implemented in the new game. The only thing that I'm sad about is that, while I've seen many new Pokemon used which is always nice to see, I haven't seen any new strategies yet using any of the new things added to Sword/Shield other than Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing.

    You guys should do Pokken content, considering that's another Pokemon-branded game series, and only specifically focused on competitive play, though sadly it's competitive scene doesn't get a ton of attention, but that's also why it deserves to be highlighted! The Pokken community is also super outgoing, if you reached out to competitive players like Allister or Burnside I'm sure they'd be willing to collaborate on stuff.
