- Just recently released! The new CVA Cascade XT (X-Treme) is CVA's new “precision-oriented” member of the CASCADE family. Several key features make it the perfect multiple purpose rifle for many hunters. First, the heavier # 5 taper fluted barrel adds stability and improves balance, while also allowing the rapid firing of multiple shots without accuracy loss due to excessive barrel heating. Next, our radial muzzle brake greatly reduces recoil, making the XT very comfortable to shoot both on the range and in the field, even in heavier calibers. Man I think I’m coming around to 6.5 PRC. The creedmoor is a sweetheart to shoot and took a elk with one but definitely not ideal. Prc kinda gets it in that sweet spot of low recoil but still extremely effective on game. CVA is awesome for producing such a quality rifle at a low price to boot. That’s appreciated especially when everything is crazy expensive now.
Nice looking rig and some nice shooting on your part. CVA is now on the radar for a lot of folks out there thanks to WTW.

CVA has a Bergara barrel and I'm a Bergara fan. What I'm seeing is the barrel creating a path. It will settle after about 30 or so shots. It does have a break-in procedure to follow and after that it should settle but with bullet prices and other situations it is also hard to accomplish. I have a Cascade in 6.5 CM that will make ragged holes at 100. Anyone wanting a super accurate rifle without breaking the bank should try a Cascade. Always enjoy your videos

I've been watching your videos for a long while and I really have been enjoying your ballistic tests and reviews. Your love for CVA Cascade is understandable, I bought a cascade in 7mm mag and I have you to thank for it. I love this rifle, it has become my favorite. I was planning to buy another cascade until I saw this video. Now I'm getting the XT in 6.5 PRC because that caliber is growing on me. I have a rifle (Ruger American) in that caliber. My 7mm is waiting for it's new Boyds Agility and I'm considering on buying one for my 6.5 PRC. Again Thank You! Your videos are informative, interesting and funny. ✌Peace, HOOAH! 🤜👍

Bought a CVA Cascade in 6.5 PRC on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse for $529 last July in the Killik K2 camo, which I really like...but I still have not had the chance to shoot it. I am considering just selling it and getting a 7mm PRC Cascade when CVA starts selling them...or maybe just keep it and get one in 7mm PRC too lol! Great video as always!

I’m thinking about the 450BM cascade XT. The MOA guarantee and what I’ve seen on here have impressed me.
FWIW I own not one but two CVA Cascades in FDE camo both in 450BM. One for me and one for my son. Both shoot no BS sub-moa with my handloads. My youngest sun is left handed so I bought him a CVA V2 Scout also in 450BM also a tack driver. All shoot the same reloads.
I own bolt action, single shot break action and semi-autos from Tikka, Remington, Savage, Browning, Ruger, Mauser, T/C, NEF, CZ American, Aero Precision, and Palmetto State Armory so I know what good QC looks like and good fit and finish looks like. IMO the CVA Cascade is the best bang for your rife buck right now.

Ordered one of these in .223. Website hasn't been updated to show 223 available yet. Plan on using this for coyotes. Looked at a lot of different rifles and this one seemed to tick all the boxes. Plus yours and other reviews of CVA rifles seem overwhelmingly positive.
I like that it's cerakoted and has the extra swivel stud. Should make it easy to hike into the hide and won't matter if I get rained on.
Well just sighting mine in. Fourth round dead nuts on the bullseye with fifth touching.

Well, between your review and "Review This Thing" I have a CVA Cascade in 6,5 CR, 308 Win and one in 7mm-08 on the way. Most accurate rifles I own, and I have some more expensive ones. The 308 cleaned the clock on a little 5 point on my last hunting day of the season. Mine love the Norma Whitetail ammo.

The cascade seems like a great budget rifle. I’ve owned a few ruger American predators. They shoot great but not a fan of look and feel. The cascade looks like it’s a little better built, thinking I should try one out lol.

I just picked up an xt in 450… I’m putting some rounds inside the other or touching at 125yds… and that bolt is like warm butter.

Nice rifle and groups are pretty good.
Couple of tips for you, back your targets with box cardboard for cleaner better bullet holes for your vids. It appears the "Neck" of your rest has a pretty good wobble. Is it loose? Looks to be inducing some accuracy issues there it might have shot tighter yet!

My baby girl shot a young buck with my 6.5 PRC with muzzle brake when she was 10.
She was more excited about the rifle’s lack of recoil than killing the buck.

Im honestly debating getting either the cascade or the cascade xt in either 350 legend or 450 bushmaster.
First bolt gun, Cascade Sportsman's Warehouse model in .308, at 10 rounds, just barrel break-in. Got my replacement trigger from CVA, the one that came with the gun in June was missing its adjustment screw! Waah! Quality control! A Remington 700 trigger design I guess. Now it adjusts, but not sure I like the 2-4 lb trigger. There's no take-up at all! Won't be taking this thing apart. What's your experience on the trigger? Have you installed a better one? Appreciate any comments from the readership.

Just curious, have done a video showing group size with suppressor and with out. I know they can change point of impact, but interested in accuracy difference, if any.
This will be my next rifle. In 300 win mag I think, I haven’t decided yet. Got the veil cascade in 7 mag and it’s a tack driver

@@WHOTEEWHO also I’ve been watching long range hunter on TH-cam as well. I haven’t tried them out yet but he reloads and hunts with the eldm bullet. Says hornady and other companies label these bullets as match so the government can use them in combat and that they actually expand better than the eldx. Maybe could do one of your old schooled milk jug tests and find out!
I also use a laser boresighter. I go out at first or last light of the day so I can see the laser better. Lol

My 6.5 cm really likes the 147g eld-M But it doesn’t like anything in 140g but does like the 120g loads. I wish ruger American wold make a 6.5 prc I think it would be hard to beat on budget rifles

WTW- Great video as always. So, you have both the Cascade and now the XT. What are your thoughts on the differences between them and do you have an opinion on which is best. Is the XT worth a little more $$ to get the newer barrel, bolt knob etc. Thanks. Your feedback on this would be great.
Both great shooters. I've shot the original cascade to 1,000 yards. I'd say if you just need a good deer gun get the original, but if you want a more precision oriented hunting rig or even more of a bench rifle get the XT. But..... I still get same hole groups with my older one too 😆

Pretty sweet shooting, both the rifle and the rifleman. I like CVA, mostly from my CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader, but I have handled a Cascade before and like it as well, even though I haven't shot it.
So what are the main differences between the Cascade and the Cascade XT? A bigger bolt knob and fluted barrel and different butt pad?
That scope seems a bit high and the comb a little low for it, but you made it work really well.
Bolt knob, heavier barrel, fluted barrel, muzzle break, new camo patter. CVA calls it more "precision oriented"

I found a gun shop here in Kentucky with tons of 6.5 prc ammo for 28 bucks a box even for Hornady ammo
