NO! No, to using a wire brush on a motor winding. Each wire has a varnish coating serving to insulate/isolate wire to wire electrically. A beautiful job. I do enjoy watching these.
Electronics tech here, and while I believe he used a nylon-type brush and not metal, I agree, never take that risk. Blow, wipe, or use a soft brush, and leave it at that, don't provide a weak point for the magic smoke to escape!
Putting threads in a vice and using a knife blade to clean up finished metals also hurt my brain a bit but it's a great video anyhow. We all have stuff to learn.
I love watching restoration of analogue non digital appliances. The art of taking something rusted and dirty and resurrecting it back to usefulness, which is their beauty. I am here for it all!
Looks great but don’t sand or grind on the coil wraps of the motor. They are covered in a resin that keeps them from arcing. Once the coating goes they can arc and burn through.
Whoever owned this didn’t really understand how it worked and how to clean it. Most of the brown was old coffee rather than rust. But this is the first time I’ve watched a restoration and truly understood how to fix it !! Sooo satisfying to see. Machine I use come back to life
It is a great feeling to take something that, for the most part, is gone, and bring it back to usefulness again. I know that feeling and it is part of why I like doing such things myself. Very nice refurbishing project. Hope you get to use it for a long, long time now... Thumbs Up!
Adorei o restauro !
We will Just pretend he didnt actually use a steel Wire Drill attachment on Epoxy insulated copper Motor windings. 😱😱😵😵. Hopefully motor Bearings got replaced also. Very Nice Paint Job and Restoration. ❤
Wow this is a blast from the past. A Prodex Zagreb coffee grinder, well that was not a home appliance, it was a professional machine usually seen in bars and restaurants. Compared to today's products built to last forever, a high quality of make. Basically that was a cleaning but you should change a bearings as well in order to work more smoothly and quietly, and a new capacitor would give it more torque. But do not wire brush motor's winding, there is a coating of insulation on those wires. In order to get perfect original look the white plaque miss a decal something like: Hausbrandt PRODEX Zagreb.
You were a very brave man using the power polisher on that acrylic/clear plastic! I did it once and the entire piece microfractured! It looked like a million tiny spider webs, caused by the heat! That's why you've got your own channel and I don't though hey! 😂
This is good. One way to improve would be to stabilize or strengthen the legs of the table where you use the vise. Close-up shots were hard to watch because of the wobbling.
I love it! As constructive criticism, I would tell you that it seems that when you paint there is too much paint, but I am not a painter hahah Good job.
Can you add small captions to your videos saying what you are using and why during each part? I want to get into restoration as a hibby and would be grateful to know more
By examining the design of the grinder burrs and the fork at the exit, I concluded that it is designed for espresso. For espresso, the coffee must not only be finely ground but also have uniform particle size. This is achieved by ensuring the burrs are aligned parallel to each other. If this alignment was adjusted correctly during installation, there should be no issue. However, if the alignment is off, larger particles may result, leading to a sour and bitter espresso. This happens because the brewing time (around 30 seconds) is insufficient for the proper extraction of larger particles.

I make NEMA motors for a living, and I was thinking that same thing! If you scratch those wires up, it can lead to it shorting out!
Yeah, also polished sharpened baldes with this thing😂

when I saw how he handled the winding, my heart ached)

Yeah, I was cringing hard on that one, I've seen how quickly that can go south
I really enjoy the no talking, just doing videos. Thank you.
I like your content...No talking, no looking at 1 piece for 20 minutes, straight to the work with no bs and you do an incredible job...Subbed...

Im here coz of My Mechanics. Glad I am. Well done, you did a fantastic job.
You could spray tan the Empire State building in 5 seconds with that paint sprayer
From 50ft away!
Isn't so much spraying the object as he is assaulting the color onto the object.
What
I watching this view because of your hand.... They are so beautiful❤
Awesome restoration! I love watching the taking apart and cleaning... then you realise just how many parts there are 😊❤

Always a joy to see skill at work.
I like this. There are no expensive and fancy tools. A feasible project in terms of cost. Thank you. Great video. 👌🏾
LOOKS AS GOOD AS NEW WELL DONE
What did you do with the bearings? Clean or replace? Please show what youve lubricated on reassembly.
Nicely done video. Thank you.
You the best
I like your calm, satisfying and relaxing videos. No talking, no showing yourself but you still have a lot of my attention. Just keep going👏🏼

La has dejado preciosa! Buen trabajo! Un abrazo desde España 🇪🇸
Golden hands!!!
16:20 You forgot to crimp the connectors on the cables and heat the shrink sleeves.
You were a very brave man using the power polisher on that acrylic/clear plastic!

Nice restoration bro. Also the grainder is from my country. Pozdrav Zagrebe. ❤🇭🇷👋
Bellissimo restauro complimenti

Using a wire brush on the motor. Not crimping the connectors. Either level up your electric game or limit yourself to purely mechanical devices.
Awesome job!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
😊amazing"s‼️
Pozdrav sa Balkana ❤
I like You Video

You are a genius, hats off to you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lots of work on this project! Good job. Not a big fan of wire brushing the insulation off the stator wires though...
I shouted NOOO! When I saw it. Glad someone else said something
Brilliant 🤩
Like new! 😊

Some (coffee) machines are more beautiful than others. This is not one of them.
This is a grinder, not a coffee machine. Excellent job anyway
A grinder is a machine.
A coffee grinder is a machine and so is a coffee maker
Perfect top show beautiful
Perfeito
Beautiful job. I have a question, would there have been anything you could have done if the burr teeth were damaged or broken?
Nice work
But obviously you don't drink Coffee ))
Look better without paint
Did you need to use heat on the base to press the stator back into the foot?
I did two of these and the stator and wiring is troublesome.
👌
