    Such a versatile tone monster! Thanks for sharing Jason! More incredible tones! Please make a QC capture (around tones @ 2:20) if possible, that’s one I would love to hear in person! Thanks!

      I think packing and shipping from WA to VIC and back would cost more than I paid for the head 😅.
      Similar in some ways I’ve seen others with the depth mod, but I haven’t seen the bright cap done.
      I love the 2466 head and matching 425A cab (G12C loaded), it’s my favourite Marshall I’ve owned.
      Do you think you might do an “impressions” with your thoughts on the stock vs modded head? I know Leon has covered a bit but your eye (and ear) for detail on the technical side is really impressive. Maybe thoughts on how it compares in both sound and feel to a JTM45 100 or 1959/1987? 🙏
      I’m gassing for a 1987X and a BX cab but don’t know if it’s double dipping the tones I have available to me 😁
      Thanks again legend 🤘😎

      Hi Dave, are you referring to shipping or a comparison to the classic circuits the VM was inspired by?
      For the shipping side I’m in WA as in Western Australia sorry, not Washington if that’s what you thought 🙂

    LOVE this one. Always wondered how these would lend themselves to mods given stock there is the bones of a JTM45 style amp in there. Guessing this changes the master volume to a pre PI too?

    • @HeadfirstAmps
      @HeadfirstAmps  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct Ed, more a traditional 2203 type architecture now for the high gain mode.

  • @theblacksquirrel.
    @theblacksquirrel. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Nice work (both of you) I've always wondered what can be done with this amp (I have a 2266) the Plexi side can sound really good, but I struggled with Detail & Body controls and the two buttons. I think I mistakenly hoped/ wished it could be a sort of useable 2 ch amp between say a Plexi and a JCM 800 at the push of a button - it sounds like you've nailed it!

    • @Killadey
      @Killadey ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a stock 2266 and use the dynamic range as a channel switcher just fine. Once you get close to 12 o'clock on the MV, compression evens out the volume.
      Maybe I misunderstand your comment though.

    • @watersnortmoment3734
      @watersnortmoment3734 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think of it as 2 different amps, a JTM45 sounding amp on LDR and a boosted JTM on HDR. As for the buttons, leave the mid boost on, it adds the normal Marshall mids. Finally, turn body low and crank detail and you have plexi noises. Then change eq and presence to taste.

      Have been keeping an eye on you
      Glad your friends with Dave
      Question
      When you say the effects loops are terrible tone sucks ,?does that mean it’s still sucking tone even if I’m not using the effects loop..?
      If so , then Ide like to have it disabled or taken out altogether

      @chicoclint 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HeadfirstAmps Is it possible to add a negative feedback control to the amp? Just curious, as I have found that my favorite feature in the Fractal FM3 might be the ability to tweak the negative feedback in each amp model. 🙂

    • @cheyneluke9330
      @cheyneluke9330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chicoclint it is very easy to add a variable negative feedback or "response" pot to an amp. Or you could have 3 options switchable if that's preferable over a pot.
