I had menopause at the normal time. But when I worked at a ladies gym and found out there were women who had menopause in their 40's. I was shocked but happy for them. I thought it just meant you just stop your period. Most of us know nothing. Our doctors and mothers dont tell us. I thought menopause would be a great time in my life stopping my period.
I didnt realize how hard they had it. I had no idea! Thank you for this education!

Even women who are prematurely premenopausal don't realize how hard they will have it. I beg prematurely-menopausal women to have consultations with me. I know I'm saving their lives even if they don't.

@@MenopauseTaylor I did no have premature menopause. But I wish I knew about you when I did go into menopause. I didn't have hot flashes or any symptoms for about a year or 2. Then I had that severe fracture which totally changed my life. I didn't even know for a long time it was connected to a loss os estrogen and menopause. I wish I knew about you then, It would have saved me from so much! Without estrogen I would have a heart attack for sure which is why my GYN lets me keep the patch in spite of having a fibroid. All women need to have a consultation with you. Not everyone knows about you and when I try to tell women they get offended like I am suggesting they have Coronavirus. The silence surrounding menopause is what kills! Thank you for this education!

@@theoneandonlypinkypinky8245 You really get it, Pinky. You understand that fractures, heart attacks, and Alzheimer's are what I am trying to prevent. It's such shame that women view menopause like it's the plague when it can be the best time in your life.

This one is scary! My obgyn told me that ince I have no risks, eat healthy, weight train that I don't need to get a bone density test until I am 65. I thought wow, by then it may be too late.
She knows about my premature menopause. She performed a hystrerectony in 2015, and I went into surgical menopause at the age of 46.
It is sad that so many doctors do not teach us about these things. It is actually disappointing.
I am blessed to at least learn it from you. Thank you.

@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you for your concern.
I have been watching your videos in order and I am learning so much from you.
I do not have any of the risks of osteoporosis that you discussed in your video at this time.
I have been taking estrogen since my surgical menopause started.
I think you may have misunderstood the point I was trying to make in my comment.
My comment was about the lack of knowledge doctors/obgyn's seem to have. My OBGYN is not as knowledgable as you have been in these videos. She seems to believe many of the misconceptions I believed before watching this education. I am sure she is not the only one who does and the point I was trying to make is that I find it sad, the lack of knowledge in the medical field about menopause.
I am grateful for this education.

I became postmenopausal at age 32, now 40. I started having symptoms in my late 20s but didn’t understand what was going on and my doctor was of no help. My mother went through it around the same age, but DNA testing shows it was not genetic. She took no estrogen replacement and has had osteoporosis since age 54. And experienced her 1st fracture almost 4 months ago and her foot is still in a walking boot. I have osteopenia and working hard to not have it advance anymore. I appreciate your videos as it encouraged me to get back on HRT a year and 1/2 ago. Also, your videos have opened my eyes to information no one, sadly not even my own nurse of a mother had time to educate me on. I have now been thrown right in the middle of menopause at 46. I had my uterus removed several years ago. Thank God I have been watching your videos for a long time. I knew what to look for and how to talk to my doctor. I’ve started a patch a few days ago. I pray it starts working soon. The vertigo alone is unbearable (I’m assuming this is a symptom of menopause). One thing I was not prepared for is the joint pain. I can barely move my arm. Feels like some sort of tendonitis. So like 3 textures. NOW, my hair is so dry, wiry, frizzy. So I went from like 3a-3c to like 4a now. No matter what products I use to moistuize, still dry and brittle. Can't even detangle it now which is leading to matting. What is going on and what can be done to reverse this?

Try applying coconut oil for detangling. Keep your hair braided(braids should not be too tight) while sleeping. Use wide toothed comb for detangling, avoid hairbrush, it will prevent further damage to hair. You can also use Aloe Vera gel or products containing it as conditioner cum moisturizer.

This statement is confusing: "Get your first bone density test when you have your last period." But you don't know when your last period is until you have been without periods for one full year, right? I'm 52 and still have periods every 4-6 months. My last one stated in April and lasted two months. I'm now waiting (again) to see if that was my last one. This is very frustrating as I don't want to waste any time starting estrogen.

Your teeth move throughout your life. Be sure to address this with your dentist or orthodontist. There are ways to stabilize your teeth.

Menopause Taylor thank you! I was not getting guidance from my dentist. I will seek another opinion. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌺🌺🌺🌺

I’ve noticed my teeth have moved slightly as well. They used to be very tight together. Now that’s not the case. Kind of wish I had kept my wisdom teeth, maybe they would have acted as a brace.
