    I don’t think I can possibly convey my thanks for what you are doing for this community of women. Because of you, I pushed for the third time to get a bone density test (I’m 57) and I knew how to interpret my scores!! Thank you for all you do. It is so necessary and so appreciated.

      If you have a 10 year window of opportunity to take estrogen,; so by 61 one should be taking it if. You became menopausal at 51. Or would the window of opportunity close at the end of your 10 years,like 62?

      Just be sure that they accurately relayed the results. Most of the time, doctor's office do not because the guidelines basically tell them to say you're fine until you're broken. I have woman after woman in consultations who thinks her DEXA was normal when it was not.

    Thank you Dr. Taylor! If it wasn’t for your videos I would have never thought about getting a bone density test ( in Nov. 2019). I did this on my own (paid for it myself) and the results show that ,in fact, I have osteoporosis. ( I’m 57 and had some of the risk factors you had described.) Because of these test results (and a follow-up DEXA scan to confirm the initial results), I have met with a doctor, had complete blood work done to rule out other possible causes, did extensive research on my own regarding treatment and have just begun ( with my doctor’s input) a course of treatment that will hopefully strengthen my bones. Without you I would have been unaware of the danger and the very real possibility of a debilitating fracture. I look forward to the rest of the videos in this series. I only wish a doctor had talked to me about this years ago when I was younger and I might have been able to do something preventative.

What an amazing work of essential information you are offering to every female born in every generation all around the world no matter her personal, particular and specific make up or circumstances. It’s not just starting from puberty, but even any pre-born females who are blessed to survive exiting the birth canal can benefit from this information. Your visual lectures and passionate enthusiasm have enabled me to SHOUT OUT LOUD that I am August 27, 1959 AND PROUD!! I am just sorry that these facts about anti-aging gracefully; especially the significance of estrogen loss, was never pushed so precisely, completely also in such a nurturing fashion, in all of the innumerable health literatures also lectures that I have been devouring since I was in my mid 30s. Thank you doctor Taylor for stepping up to the plate and hitting this VIP-Very Important Phenomenon far, far, farthest thus far out of the ball park. I appreciate you more than words can express Dr. Taylor. You are the epitome of the adage that states “ practice what you preach.” The virtual information highway is so easily filled with tale-tellers, imposters, perpetrators of various kinds of frauds; since we all know that none of us on either side of the screen may ever really meet in face to face. But finding ones such as you is like finding a very unique golden needle hidden deep inside a haystack of mostly average golden needles. You are definitely not the dime a dozen sort. FYI tho - You must be some kind of special since I actually despise (lol) GYNs-Never been a fan of vaginal picking and probing. The thought makes me cringe. But after carefully listening to your lectures, I am now ready to become diligent in my gynecological efforts to improve my quality of life for what may indeed be the best part of my life. Very pretty in pink! I wonder why our doctors don't tell us these things! There is no way for women to understand these things without being told by a doctor what this is about. I don't know of any woman who would know these things and I even read books on menopause that didn't cover these things. I dont know though how you cannot know you are in menopause when your period stops. I was celebrating when my period stopped! You are the only person in the world telling women these things. The denial and fear of estrogen is very frustrating for me I cant imagine how frustrating it is for you. The surgeon who did my original surgery who is a world class surgeon told me to take Calcium and I would be fine. I took his word for it at first. When I realized I was not fine I started reading and read the best book on Osteoporosis and they are the ones that said you need estrogen. But trying to get it from a doctor was another up hill battle! Now I am fighting a thick uterus and large fibroid due to doctors not knowing in the beginning what I should take. I am trying to thin my uterus now and my GYN is understanding and compassionate. Most doctors would want to do surgery. We are trying to avoid that for now. Thank you for this education.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you see additional videos on this each week, you will understand why this is such a problem. The whole system of osteoporosis is designed and governed by the profession that is what I call the "disease care industry." That means they focus on disease, not wellness. We doctors (myself included) are repairmen. We know how to fix you when you[re broken. So ... the system is designed to let you break. I find it criminal, but that's the way it is. I just think you deserve to know it.

    I was wondering if there is a maximum dosage of Estrogen ( I don't mention Progesterone because I don't have a Uterus) and whether any dosage above the minimum your body needs to prevent diseases makes a difference in long-term benefits. Does your body just eliminates any excess estrogen every day when you take oral estrogen?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only your own body knows what YOUR maximum dosage is. Most women have the problem of taking too little not too much.
      Many women need dosages much higher than the minimums just to relive their symptoms. The key is to listen to YOUR BODY, not to other people.
      I address this in detail in consultations if you want one.
      Remember, you're talking about a hormone that flooded your body like a waterfall for the last 35 years or so. HRT dosages are a drop in comparison.

    Some of the blame has to be placed on medical professionals for not being taught the importance of estrogen and how devastating life can be if proper treatment isn't given at the time of menopause. It's as if the doctor should have a short chat with their patients and tell them what to expect and have the necessary resources to give the women to educate themselves. Family doctor's need to be on the front line and bring it up with their female patients. My family doctor just waves off that I'm in surgical menopause as if it's normal...it's not normal....
    Funny how if men had a drastic loss of testosterone science would be on it to find meds to boost their hormone level to prevent devastating diseases..they have the little blue pill....
    One more and I am caught up. Considering a consult, gotta wait until surgery file has been requested. Need to know really what happened...

    I am hoping you will hit a lick on weighted workouts. I started aerobic dance with 1 lb dumbbells in the early 80's when it was a fad. I turned 20 in 1981 & read somewhere that if I added weights it would help prevent bone loss so I added 1 lb dumbbells. I am 59 now & last year at 58 I went from a b cup to a dd cup & pulled something in my back. So I have slowed down a little & now do a heavy weights upper body & a heavy weights lower body & a Zumba with 1 lb dumbbells each workout 2 times a week for a six day a week total workout system. Anyway weighted workouts as a preventative for Osteoporosis is a common thing & if you didn't get whether it is fact or fiction in this coming up segment would you maybe make one on common myths or facts, not things that have to be individualized. You have already hit the calcium one over & over again. But I am sure there are others. There was another question about arthritis here. Maybe include something about that generalized of course. I would really like to understand why estrogen cream soothes mine more than nsaids cappascain or menthol. A generalized discussion of estrogen loss osteoporosis & arthritis would be really helpful to a lot of us in making our own decisions. But you are beautiful inside & out! And I love you for doing this for us, you are right no one else does. Thanks a million times over!

      Estrogen will merely stop your bone loss where it is, It does not replace lost bone.
