This was so hard to watch...I'm almost in tears because a sudden, premature menopause has taken away my dreams of becoming a mother, its also made me very ill but my GP is very dismissive of it, thanks so much for highlighting this important issue, you look great by the way I really admire you for wearing whatever you want.

Thank you for your video. I went through sudden menopause at 38 due to chemotherapy. I just started taking HRT 8 years later through combipatch. Over the past 8 years none of my doctors said anything about HRT, even after I had a fracture. I think they have been afraid due to my cancer hx (both non-breast & non-gynecological). I had to advocate for myself after seeing your videos. Thanks so much!

I started peri menopause aged32! & menopause 34, changed my lifestyle completely, I now eat an extremely healthy diet, stopped smoking drinking & lost 5 & 1/2 stone which took some doing as my thyroid stopped working, I never took any medication etc, I don’t suffer hot flashes mood changes etc only thing I do is have calcium & vitamin D, as I have a dairy allergy, ( I do have bone density scans)
I feel really well which I put down to years of a much better lifestyle xx

How do you not have more subscribers? You should be past the 100K and near the million. It's a shame more women don't educate themselves. I knew it was coming, but surgery at 50 suddenly said, "Hello, I'm here !"
You need to try to get on a show like Dr Oz or The Doctors

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Many women comment on that. And the reason is this:
Menopause is THE most neglected topic on Planet Earth, by the healthcare industry, the disease care industry, doctors, and women themselves. I knew when I started this mission that I would be climbing the steepest hill ever. I picked the most unpopular topic on earth. I'll never have the millions of subscribers that all the hair and makeup channels have. I save lives, but, apparently, women don't value that as much as beauty!
If more women understood the value of this education, like you do, that would change. And that's my goal. I know I will do this for the rest of my life. Hopefully, it will make a difference, a positive one.
Thank you so much for your kindness and confidence.

Hello, I just found your channel today.
20+ years ago, I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure after age 35 ... but it took a couple of years to get diagnosed. Not only was it devastating because it was so debilitating that I couldn't sleep and was miserable 24 hours, every day, but I still wanted children. Few doctors, medical or other professionals had any real knowledge, compassion or insights. I did my best to educate myself and others, but it has been a difficult road to travel and a lonely one.

I actually never heard of it until I worked at a ladies gym and several women in their 30's and 40's had premature menopause. I thought it was odd I never heard of it. My mom did not go into menopause until age 63. Which I know now is rare. I have a friend who went into menopause because she had ovarian cancer and had to get them removed at age 30 or something. She is tough as nails but has not talked about being on HRT maybe its embarrassing but she must be! Embarrassing because she is so tough and prides herself on that! Thats a very interesting graph I had no idea about these things but I am sure I can use this in the future and invite people to watch you. BTW I had my second Mona Lisa Touch yesterday. It was way more painful than the first one and burns much more than the first one. But I had such good results with the first one I need to finish but they said the last one hurts the most! Thanks for this education!

Thank you and again so informative! Such a crucial stage for a woman and so many wish to ignore - wish I had done this few years ago, but have now and realize almost a difference starting slowly but remarkably! My RH is just been so incredibly bad and for years wish that I had realized this is one of my reasons why!!!! Estrogen is just crucial for so much in the body and now I see and understand it! Over the last few years I have been on prednisone and methotrexate- and that has off course worsened the state of my ovaries and hence depleted my estrogen even further. I also take Celebrex but try not to - which is worse Barbie?? 🙁🤔

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terri,
Why are you on Prednisone and Methotrexate? Do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis?
When you ask, "Which is worse?" to what are you referring? Celebrex versus Methotrexate + Prednisone?
Celebrex has the effect of increasing your risk of heart attack. Prednisone has the effect of increasing your risk for osteoporosis. It's a balancing act. But, not taking one of them has the risk of worsening your arthritis. And omitting estrogen has the effect of increasing your risk for heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's.
You see, it's all a balancing act. But, it's not necessarily an either/or situation. Which is better or worse depends on your particular set of circumstances.
I'd love to do a one-on-one consultation with you. You've been watching these videos from the start, and I just know that we could tailor so many things to your particular needs. If you can, go to MenopauseTaylor.ME and schedule one.

This is so tragic. I just went through ovarian cancer due to brca1 mutation, they cut out my entire reproductive system, so now I'm in premature menopause at 37. Now I have to figure out what to do about the menopause AND the breast cancer risk, probably a mastectomy. What I think is absolutely outrageous is that my oncologist didn't even mention a word about my menopause, hormones or anything even though she knows everything has been cut out way too early, completely ignored the whole thing as if nothing happened 🤯 👉🏼I👈🏼 had to address it !! Being completely traumatized, not knowing if I was going to live or die, worrying about my child being left as an orphan, being sick from chemo, not knowing up from down from chemo brain, menopause brain, I who never had seen a doctor in my life before this tragedy happened .... I !!!! had to tell the oncologist of 20 years "wait a minute, hold on, didn't you guys just cut out my entire hormone production factory? I feel absolutely horrible from this, isn't there something about hormones that should be done?" If I didn't mention it myself, I would probably still be on my merry hormone free way and medical professionals around me wouldn't say a peep. What the heck is this. Absolutely outrageous. Not enough to be hit by one or two tragedies, but then be damned to a life cut short, damaged or threatened by premature aging and life threatening disease. I was grieving my life that was being cut short, my healthy self, my youth, my prime that was violently being robbed from me. I feel like a 80 year old woman after chemo and premature, sudden, I like to call it forced menopause. I was sitting in the shower crying, asking God why, I was so heartbroken that not only cancer took my possibility of having children, but now I would rapidly start becoming an old women way too early in my life. Because I didn't know I could go on hormones. That's how much my oncologist of 20 years educated me.
Thank God, we have heros and life savers like Dr. Taylor and women who share their experiences. What a blessing the internet is in that way.

Now with 42 I have a high Fsh of 40 with super low ostrogen under 0;2 and hot flashes day and night. My mother, grandmother and aunts got in menopause at the age of 50- 52. I’m healthy but have asthma. Could my super low BMI of 16.5, which I had my entire life, causes that early menopause. Should I try to get more wheight or is it too late now (I eat vegan most of the time). I am so afraid that I will not stay healthy long enough for my little girl. Maybe it was too selfish to get a child already in perimenopause. Is there any way to „slow it down“? Thanks for all your effort and greetings from Germany

Nothing is just black and white. I had a premature menopause at age 42 (hypothyreoiditis), but I didnt want any treatment. Why? In the same time they detect I have a meningeoma - and they "are living from estrogen and progesteron" - so for women with breast cancer risk and meningeomas could be a premature menopause from one side a blessing too.

    • @MenopauseTaylor

There have been cases of estrogen-dependent and/or progesterone-dependent meningiomas. But usually that terms refers to the fact that they are more common in females and the fact that they tend to be discovered after pregnancy.
Everything about menopause has to do with balancing the benefits against the risks or YOUR personal situation. That's why my education is entitled "Your Menopause Your Way."

    Dr barbie💖
The other day i was listening to a senior endocronologist apollo hosp new delhi. He was talking about transgenders who come to him. They r male by birth nd feel like they r females so these endo docs treat them by giving them estrogen. Dose as high as 2 mg three times in a day i.e 6 mg per day. He also said its very safe nd can be taken through out the life.
I was really wondering estrogen which is a female hormone, it is supposed to b safe for men if they want to turn themself to females, how is it not safe fr females aft a certain age???

It makes you wonder doesn't it. The fact is that your entire adult reproductive life, you have loads of estrogen, and you love it. So, all the fears about estrogen are very misplaced. Fear is a very difficult thing to erase ... especially when it's rampant.
Estrogen is much safer than people give it credit for.

U r right. There are so many gynacologist utubers who talk about managing menopause. They talk about all the possible options but no body talks about estrogen which is the most logical. I ve seen only u talk about estrogen. I dont understand y there is so fear nd stigma about. If i had not found u i wud have the same terror about estrogen. I dont know when things nd medical guidelines abt hrt change.

It changed in 2002 when the WHI study come out and was reported to the public in a manner that terrified everybody. The fear has lingered ever since, and fear is a very hard thing to erase.

      I'm so sorry. I am definitely technologically-challenged.
I'm a gynecologist, not a computer technologist. I create and shoot all these videos all by myself.
I hope my shortcomings don't interfere with your getting the menopause education you deserve.

An answer to what? Did I miss your question? Sometimes, TH-cam does flukey things and I miss a comment or two. But you know I respond to all comments daily. So, if you could pose your question again, I'll be happy to answer it.

The question below. If a low BMI has something to do with an early menopause and if it would make sense to get more weight already in perimenopause. Thank you very much.

I see your post about a low BMI causing early menopause.
The fact is that a low BMI can cause you to stop having periods, but that is not always the same thing as early menopause.
If your weight is extremely low before the average age of menopause, gaining weight can certainly cause your periods to resume if the low BMI was the reason they stopped. We see this all the time in extreme athletes.
