  • TEDxInnsbruck - Paul Hughes - Ten Meters of Thinking: The ABC of Communication
    Designer and Consultant, Netherlands
    Through his '10 meters of thinking' Paul Hughes unrolls stories that create organizational change. This change is an ongoing path where he uses design & branding to pave the way and offer signposts for the journey, which he coaches participants to walk with practical steps.
    Ten Meters of Thinking is a visual/verbal experience where Paul Hughes draws as he speaks. Across ten meters of paper he reveals stories that are used to stimulate individual and organizational change. Storytelling is a timeless art that Paul applies in a timely manner.
    The subject of this Ten Meters of Thinking is The ABC of Communication. Here Paul will remind the audience about the impact and reach of communication. We therefore all have a responsibility in how we communicate with others. Paul points out what it means to align our communication with our actions and vice versa. Thereby, he offers a practical model that shows the essence of successful communication can be as simple as A,B,C.

    In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    This is freaky awesome...thank you. Oh, unlike some comments, this meant SO much to me from many standpoints (design career, study, personal character, interests such as marketing & design, relationships...etc..). Its helped me to understand concepts I never understood before, and see its relatedness. Awesome. Like the 7 Habits, this one video will be highly referenced by me as I work hard in areas of my life. Like someone said, the content and delivery blew me away. Thanks very much.

    Great video that highlights how the ABC of communication, as any other thing in life, finds its roots in our shared values!
    Important reminder to keep in mind every time we are about to create a new marketing campaign or invest in re-branding!

    This is what every country, culture literally has their own set of 'logic' and belief systems, their own way of thinking but dont realize that they might be wrong or completely irrational. Traditions and customs from childhood come to effect too. Hes know what hes talking about...

    But 1 + 1 in the binary system or virtual world equals 10 not 11. Am I too picky?

    • @TheCharlieBrowniest
      @TheCharlieBrowniest 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think he's just referring to what you get by just putting the two numbers next to each other, which is 11. Because he was talking about a way of only looking at the surface of things... I think :)

      ytinformes2 Well very good talk but being a picker I would pick on...
      "One plus one is no longer three it is eleven"
      instead of
      "One plus one is no longer two it is eleven2
