I agree about Qrow talking about himself in bad luck charm. The dudes always drinking and lurking around and alone, home boy has to be so sad like all the time. Also, thinking about it now, semblances drain aura and he can't control his, so he has to be like the best fighter he can possibly be and on top of things at all times as his semblance could randomly drain his aura at a critical time. I imagine he can't be fighting endlessly as the longer he fights the more the advantage of durability sways in his opponents favor

Reminds me that so many people believe that the line "you don't want the burden of my name" is evidence towards Ruby being Qrow's daughter, but that's them reading into it too much. He's literally saying they don't want his name. His name's not Branwen, it's Qrow Branwen. He's essentially saying that nobody wants to be him. Nobody wants the burden of being Qrow Branwen, the burden of having Misfortune as their Semblance.

I’m pretty sure that his semblance is always active and doesn’t drain aura. However, he can choose to “amplify” his aura, and as such amplify bad luck, which will slowly drain his aura. I think this is on the wiki.

Weiss gets the best songs. None of the other members of team RWBY get songs that come even close. Speaking of team RWBY does Blake even have any songs aside from the one in Volume 1?
I have to admit, I prefer Bad Luck Charm, on its own at least. Yes, This Life is Mine concludes the mirror story (for now), but from the music alone, Bad Luck Charm is the one I personally prefer just a little bit.

It is, but it still sounds amazing.
One thing I forgot to mention, and for which I am probably about to be set on fire and deemed a heretic (I'd say in that order), but I am not going to consider Bumblebee canon until it happens on screen. You do bring up an excellent point with "Boop" though, and the chances of it being canon have increased tremendously. Still, I shall remain steadfast, right on this fence.
To add some fuel to the fire I already smell below me (which I might have done before, forgive me if I did), what do you think of Ruby/Oscar? The boy deserves his own life in my opinion, and he needs a hero to teach him how to be one. Ruby meanwhile could get a little mentor arc, turning from huntress in training to traineress... in... hunting? Something like that.

For me, even if you do strip away the context of "This Life Is Mine" and analyze it, I believe it is the more difficult song to pull off. The transitions alone are enough for me to like it better; From the haunting and operatic beginning to the rock part. There a lot more...."musical ideas" within the song. Don't get me wrong, I adore Bad Luck Charm, but after listening to it about 5-6 times, it's a very...structured song I find. I feel like there were more risks taken with Weiss' song and it certainly paid off. Just my 2 cents!

"This Life is Mine" aside from one tiny cringe line is best of the 4 to me.
Bmblb feels out of left field and disconnected from the whole 4th volume, so they either did it for some personal inspirational reason or some very sneaky reason.
Let's Just Live in full version is emotional.
Bad Luck Charm sounds way better without those initial 40 seconds of scene score they attached to it.
i personally think that "bmblb" is yang singing (all dem bee puns lmao) with the exception of the second verse, which is blake. "now the flowers are in bloom / and you've chased away my darkness and gloom" ... "my doubts disappear every time that you're near / clouds seem to run from the sky". i could definitely be wrong about that but we know that yang is associated with sunlight imagery in the songs and in the show itself, while blake is associated with shadow imagery, so it makes a lot of sense to me.
AND i'm really glad you guys brought up "boop" because it's what i've been trying to say to those in denial people. "they seeded it in way early." YES. the sentiments of "boop" were not expressed in canon, or even really hinted at, until volume 4, so the fact that "bmblb" doesn't seem particularly applicable yet means nothing. noooothiiiingggg.
but yeah, "this life is mine" skyrocketed to like....maybe the number 3 spot on my list of top rwby songs. it's incredible :)

When we first meet Ran and Nora, there's that bit that Nora says "well, not together together"... which makes it obvious what she means.

I also think that Blake and Yang's interactions next volume are going to be _very_ angsty mostly, they have a lot of issues they need to sort out, not really a good place for romance yet anyway :D

Sasuke Uchiha sun was a friend for Blake in v4 and 5. In the volumes 1 to 3, sun obviously liked her, I and also believe Blake did. However, after the yang incident, I think Blake completely changed her perspective. Sun knew in 4 and 5 that Blake needed a friend. And i personally think that they liked each other, but now they both know it’s better to be friends. And hating the shippers is just dumb honestly.

I want them to reveal what happened to Qrow to warrant that kind of song. But here are my thoughts:
''Tai...she is not coming....Tai...'' - Hallucinating Qrow
Qrow when he was hallucinating very badly in episodes 9 to 12 was probably going through his nightmares when Summer died, and he was there to witness...to cause it. (Too bad we never saw him say anything to Jaune when he grabbed his arm after Jaune carried him to security. 'I am sorry, Tai' would probably have been bit too much of a confirmation, So instead he noticed that it was just Jaune and not Tai, and kept silent.)
At least partially because of his semblance, which is why Taiyang is so bitter towards him, even giving him the evil eye when leaving them together in a same room in V3 E12. Notice how Taiyang doesn't seem to hold that huge of a grudge towards Raven leaving him. When he talked to Yang about Raven he didn't portray Raven as evil or a bad person, just complicated.
Qrow following Ruby and protecting them from far away is his way of making sure that Ruby will not end like Summer.
Qrow is literally no one's blessing. He was probably never too welcome to his own clan, to be around his nieces or his friends. Which is why he is always away, always alone and flying solo. Damn he is a depressing character.
And no, I don't think Qrow is actually to blame of Summer's death. Maybe he played an unwilling part in it, or that he THINKS Summer died because of him.

Semblance of Sanity I really enjoyed the story telling aspect of the song. It also had the late punk era chaoticness to it that is really fitting of Qrows character. Also it falls more into my prefered genre than most the rest. Lets just live has a slight Pop sound to it. Bmblb was very pop and up beat. This life is mine definetly had an 80 rock balad tone to it at some points that i rather enjoyed. but overal the chaoticness along with what we already know about Qrow makes the song that much deeper.
Man, people reacting to RWBY stuff and seeing them amazed really makes me want to animate the fanmade trailers like Mark Zhang and It'll take a few years for me to learn how to animate and hopefully one day I get to see the amazed faces of the people who reacted to my fanmade RWBY trailers someday and I wonder in the near future as well other people are also making fanmade RWBY trailers as well

4195phoenix his name is Moon and I think he's very overpowered because his semblance is to copy any semblance by touching any part on the person's body and he has that semblance to use forever and he can use more than 1 and his weapon is a regular sword like jaune but it's so sharp that he installed a safety mode on his sword and when he drops his sword on the ground when the safety mode is off it goes through the ground regularly like air so it can cut through anything like air and here's what I mean that he's a character never heard before (I think) in any action story or show because he has every type of common fighting skill like close combat, master in using any type of weapon and range weapon with very good accuracy, he's also a tactician and a very good one too like other tacticians in other shows and stories, is very stealthy and very quick with attack speed, and has a creative mind to create powerful weapons like his sword that took a long time to make and his sword is the most powerful weapon he has and so he basically has every common skill known in your typical stories and shows with action

the full version of "Let's just Live" definitely made it official for me that it's now my favourite rwby intro!! it's sooo beautifully layered, I was taken so off guard by the different chorus at the end, that along with "a friend is suddenly gone" always gets me covered in chills and teary-eyed every time. so beautiful. also, *M*ove *O*nward *N*ot *T*here *Y*et. blew my mind!!
"This Life is Mine" is just. pure unapologetic savage. one big fat symbolic middle finger from Weiss to her dad. I'm so damn in love with it. the transitions in this song. loooord. Jeff absolutely outdid himself with this soundtrack, every track is gold.

The thing I love most about "Let's Just Live" is not just because it's fucking amazing, but the full version comes out and everyone suddenly realizes the entire time, it's been a tribute to Monty. "Go forward, you must keep moving on".

I loved Weiss's mirror mirror both one and two. "This life is mine" absolutely captured it for me. My favourite song however is "Lets just live" all of the emotional that we have been though summed it up in that song and the vocals was ear glistening

Hey guys about the bumble bee song they added that song at the end that as far as I know was just meant to be a fun song
Yeah. Devastatingly, Jeff has confirmed in an interview that NONE of the songs are actually CANON canon, and some weren't written with RWBY characters in mind at all (All Our Days being an example, which he wrote for Casey, apparently; I think Not Fall in Love with You is another one). All we can do is enjoy interpreting the songs for ourselves and not stress about whether or not they are necessarily relevant to the real series - and I say that as a Bumblebee fan myself. That said, I can definitely see Bmblb being reprised when Blake and Yang finally reunite and talk about that Goliath in the room. And I hope it's super pretty when it happens. :-)

I must be the only one whose favorite song from this whole soundtrack is Let's Just Live. It's just the perfect response to When It Falls, my favorite volume 3 song. It's so well done.
I always interpreted Bmblb as being a duet between the characters even though there's only one singing voice. The first verse and chorus is Yang the second verse and chorus is Blake the third verse is them singing back and forth "like a serenade every word you say has me falling more and more in love with you" is Blake in the third, "like a party be you are oh so sweet everyday is sunny tastes like honey" is Yang and "i feel so alive take me back to the hive" is Blake's response. The last chorus is both of them. At least that's how i envisioned it. Art's open to interpretation though.
This is my FAVORITE soundtrack of RWBY. Because. Geez.
That being said, my favorite song of this soundtrack was Bad Luck Charm, but This Life is Mine is a close second.

Like Morning Follows Night (my #2) is great, BUT the rap segment just feels out of place and unnecessary for me. It just disrupts the flow and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm a metalhead, and while I like other genres too, the optimistic tone for the bulk of the Volume I didn't much care for tbh, it's not bad, just not to my tastes (Volumes 1 and 3 are so far the biggest ones I consistently come back to).
That being said, This Life is Mine is very much the MVP of the Volume and I love it (though the "patriarchal prison" line I personally can't help but cringe at, the rest of the song is amazing).
Bad Luck Charm is kewl, Lusus Naturae is aswell, though not as catchy, Armed and Ready I was never really hyped for, though I'll probably warm up to it later on.
Like Morning Follows Night kinda felt flat imo, it would be fine if there were more Blake songs to fill it in, but going from From Shadows (dark and gritty) to Like Morning Follows Night is drastic of a change to warrant the optimistic outlook, the reason why This Life Is Mine works so well is because there's so much progression with Weiss's songs, but it isn't the case with Blake.
Bmblb is kinda meh, but I don't ship Bumblby so that might be why, Home I haven't listened to too much, so I have no opinion on it yet.

Zerepa 97 Same! The rap really doesn't fit personally. It's cool and awesome but I feel it merits for Sun's own song.
This Life of Mine totally surprised me, I was blown away when the rock kicked in. Was not expecting it. I totally understand why the line "patriarchal prison" is cringy, but I think its used appropriately here. Weiss' father isn't very...ideal and for much of Volume 4 he basically has Weiss trapped in their manor. A literal prison made by her father, the patriarch of the Schnee family.
I loved Like Morning Follows Night. Everyone always says that Lamar's segments don't fit, whether it be in RvB or RWBY, but imo the only place he shouldn't have been included is in Fragments (mainly because the tempo changed and it just sounded weird). That's just me though, you do you.
And again, Jeff and Casey amaze us (Also Lamar - GOD DAMN, MAN, THAT RAP THOUGH.).
YAASSSSS Jeff/Casey/Lamar deserve so much praise for adding their genius talent to this incredible show!

I am almost certain Weiss was meant to be someone whom, throughout the series, was conflicting with herself to learn to fit in with her friends and fight against her own upbringing as a way to reject her families influences. She was trying to break away from everything she knew and become her own person. However there were a few hiccups along the way due to how she was raised in a family of wealth. You can see she tries to break away from this with her acting out moments such as when she stood on the chair in vol 2 to over accentuate herself as someone who can be fun and more outgoing even though it was against her character. There is even a moment she takes to herself just after to think about how successful her act was. Rose's personality rubs off on her due to her outgoing nature and so she slowly falls into the same nature. But changing as a person is not something that can happen immediately so she has to force it out of herself. This series likes to hint at things and not say them outright.
looking back, i think Volume 1's ending theme "Wings" might have been a Blake/Yang song this whole time, or at the very least had a couple of references to them specifically ("Shadows seem to fill your life" obviously Blake & "Aimless on the inside" foreshadowing what Yang tells Oobleck in Volume 2 on Mountain Glenn) but i wouldn't take it to the extreme.

I am really concerned about all these people talking blacksun. they must have a really warped idea of a functioning relationship. We all know Casey's voice is great so there's no use pointing that out, but for some reason there's SOMETHING about Jeff's voice that I just love a well. I can't quite put my finger on what though.

I really liked This Life Is Mine, but on the other hand, Bad Luck Charm is my theme song, so I'm partial to both.
From my browsing with RWBYg on 4chan, Jeff wrote Bmblb while he was in the hospital (Part of why the album was delayed IIRC) as a bit of an apology for keeping people waiting.
Not that I'm saying it makes it less canon, but it's a fun fact.
Personally, I'm thinking it's only from Yang's perspective. Yang could have a crush on Blake, but that's as far as I think it will go. Blacksun looks more likely to happen imo. I'm fine with whatever happens as long as it flows nicely with the narrative.

On the topic of Weiss' flip flop personality as you put it, I don't think she let go of her prejudice in 12 hours. She was particularly talking about Blake herself. Meaning although she had all these issues with the Faunus, she realized that Blake is still a close friend and there are exceptions. I don't think she let go of her overall prejudice until later in the series.
