    Great clean up and you did the right thing, keeping it as is. My dad had one similar in his tool box and used it for years, he loved it. I DO NOT have junk drawer in my shop, but my shop is the junk drawer lol. Thanks George for the video.

    Haha, got two drawers side by side like that! One of the things that I learned early on, trying to perform restorations without a shop full of tools, is being creative with what you have. Great cleanup and preservation George - two thumbs way up!

    That is a great wrench George. Thats exactly how I restored mine so it must be perfect. I have a drawer like that that I organized one day but over time it morphed back into the original junk drawer condition. I guess we all just need a place to stash stuff.

    I think you took that wrench to just the right level. That's probably fairly close to what it looked like when new. It also deserves to be a respected wall hanger. It,'s earned its retirement after many decades. Don't apologize for the drawer. We all have at least one. Your shop actually looks nicely organized. Thanks for saving that cool wrench.

    I have a couple drawers and a few totes like that. The Speedwrench came out awesome, I like the look of it. I found that using some acetone and a small stiff paint brush i can get wire wheel leftovers from between letters, Taking it easy today, yesterday was a 6" backflow rebuild in a bar cage. the bar was about 2" too high to easily climb over, and mid calf deep water. Hope your week is well and look forward to Sunday's haul!! Be safe brother, keep the water flowing

      @Uwannawatch  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks Patrick! I got a whole little shop that looks like that right now. I like to leave a little history on the old rarish tools. That's smart thinking using a brush and acetone. I'll have to remember that! I know those jobs all too well. I don't think folks realize how hard we work. . We are so slammed with work orders, Looks like I'll be working this weekend. First of the month PMs are coming up and only 2 guys in the shop have a Back flow license, I know I got about 50 to do. But I'll see ya Sunday!

    Vic everyone has one of those "JUNK" drawers. Even my dad had one of thise junk drawers. I think it shows a busy person and doesn't have enough time to be as organized as you would like to be. I am like that on occasion and then I spend time cleaning up my mess. That wrench came out great. Well dome my friend.

    Awesome wrench I have never seen one in person.... Well I do not have a drawer like that. 6 or 7 large totes is more like it.😂😂😂 Started as a single tote for odd things that led to many more totes full of stuff... And my side work benches are starting areas of odds and ends to be sorted some year. Glad I am not the only one using hand drill wire wheel on the good ole press for finer work. 🤘🤘I have used penetrol wipe it in let it set then with a shop rag rub it vigorously to warm it up and remove the excess.. that came out great...

    Great video and wrench brother. Some things need to be left alone and that was one. You took it back just enough preserving the character and use of the tool; even though yours is destined to be a wall hanger.
    Take care buddy and love to the family. I’m sure it must be cooling down there for you as it’s shorts and tee shirt weather every day here. We’re already starting to chase birds, lizards and arachnids out of the house.

    Great job on keeping the wrench looking natural! Wondering what brands of rotory and bench top wire wheels you found to be best quality and are durable? Yeah I've got a catch all drawer, but try to purge it out from time to time.

    • @Uwannawatch
      @Uwannawatch  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank You! For rotary I haven't found a good one yet, as long as you keep the rpms low they'll last a while. For a bench top if you can find a new old stock Dayton they'll last forever and Dewalt makes a good one too. Right now I'm using generic ones. I'm in the process of cleaning tons of tools right now.

    • @jcastillon1991
      @jcastillon1991 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Uwannawatch Thanks for the reply. I will look out for your recommendations. I've been buying my Brass coated steel bench type from HF because I can't seem to find the strictly Brass wire bench type because I like it's clean polishing action when I use a true brass wheel in my drill. Been buying Amazon rotary type only because I'm still learning which brand(s) is better quality? I'll definitely try using the lower rpm setting on the rotary tool. Just seems both the bench and rotary wire wheels quality I'm purchasing, fling wire strands all over and don't last. Eye protection and long sleeve shirt are must with them.

      I've used that method in the past, But for little things like this it's easier and quicker for me to just do it manually.

    I don't have a drawer But I have a 5 gallon bucket And that thing is much much worse You never know what you're gonna find in the bottom of that bucket either I keep lid on it so there's never any water

      That's what I would call a bucket of Fun! Is the lid to keep water out or to keep things in? LOL. Take care Brother.

      You might have a point there That lid might help to keep things in there But I just put it on there to keep the water out occasionally the shed roof leaks
