Great clean up and you did the right thing, keeping it as is. My dad had one similar in his tool box and used it for years, he loved it. I DO NOT have junk drawer in my shop, but my shop is the junk drawer lol. Thanks George for the video.
Thank You! I thought it was the right look for such an old one. That is Awesome that you Dad had one, maybe We'll have to put this one to work sometime. My junk drawer has been creeping into the rest of the shop. 😅
That wrench came out really nice! I like the clean-up approach, instead of completely restoring it. YES I have a drawer like that, you'll se that in my next video. Have a great weekend and see you Sunday
Thanks Mike, I like to leave the old ones with some history on them like it was just set down. I'll check that junk drawer in a little bit. See ya later Buddy!
Haha, got two drawers side by side like that! One of the things that I learned early on, trying to perform restorations without a shop full of tools, is being creative with what you have. Great cleanup and preservation George - two thumbs way up!
Thanks Matt! I think sometimes the more tools you have to work with the harder it is to work. If that makes weird sense. Thanks for checking it out Brother. I appreciate it.
That is a great wrench George. Thats exactly how I restored mine so it must be perfect. I have a drawer like that that I organized one day but over time it morphed back into the original junk drawer condition. I guess we all just need a place to stash stuff.
Mr. John everything you do is perfect! I clean this drawer out and as soon I turn around it's full again, but hey I did find the card scraper I was looking for. So that's good. Take care Buddy!
Wish I had the luxury of a drawer ..mines all over the whole shop😅 but we have 2 like that in the kitchen 😊 always admired all the raised lettering on those wrench I think that makes those look cool...smart to leave it OG!
Thanks Big Brother! You know I love this user look but I did think about painting those letters. 😲 I got a counter spot in the kitchen by the door where I drop all my stuff..Chrissy swipes it into the drawer under it when it gets to the edge. 🤣🤣.
Hey !George très belle restauration de cette clé, la laisser sans la peindre et juste laquée ,la rend sublime. Ne t'en fais pas George, on a tous dans l'atelier, un tiroir ou l'on fourre tout et n'importe quoi dedans. ❤
Thank You Patrick! I love the character on these old tools. I think it's important to keep some of the history of these tools. The junk drawer is non stop. Take care my friend.
I think you took that wrench to just the right level. That's probably fairly close to what it looked like when new. It also deserves to be a respected wall hanger. It,'s earned its retirement after many decades. Don't apologize for the drawer. We all have at least one. Your shop actually looks nicely organized. Thanks for saving that cool wrench.
Thank You Pat! I really wanted to give this one a user look like it was just put down. That drawer is an ongoing problem! Oh and just so you know my shop is completely trashed right now. Long work hours, restoring and hauls..it's chaos right now. 😅
That is a very cool looking wrench, George. I have never seen one quite like that before. I have such a drawer like this out in my garage. I cringe every time I open it. I always seem to find things I'm not looking for, and rarely find what I am looking for. I'm sure you can relate.
Thanks Bruce! I have since cleaned that drawer..You wouldn't believe all the things I found in there. I still didn't find those brushes though! LOL. Take care Buddy.. Catch up with ya later.
I have a couple drawers and a few totes like that. The Speedwrench came out awesome, I like the look of it. I found that using some acetone and a small stiff paint brush i can get wire wheel leftovers from between letters, Taking it easy today, yesterday was a 6" backflow rebuild in a bar cage. the bar was about 2" too high to easily climb over, and mid calf deep water. Hope your week is well and look forward to Sunday's haul!! Be safe brother, keep the water flowing
Thanks Patrick! I got a whole little shop that looks like that right now. I like to leave a little history on the old rarish tools. That's smart thinking using a brush and acetone. I'll have to remember that! I know those jobs all too well. I don't think folks realize how hard we work. . We are so slammed with work orders, Looks like I'll be working this weekend. First of the month PMs are coming up and only 2 guys in the shop have a Back flow license, I know I got about 50 to do. But I'll see ya Sunday!
Vic everyone has one of those "JUNK" drawers. Even my dad had one of thise junk drawers. I think it shows a busy person and doesn't have enough time to be as organized as you would like to be. I am like that on occasion and then I spend time cleaning up my mess. That wrench came out great. Well dome my friend.
Thanks Stephen, I am so busy right now.. Hopefully I'll get some shop cleaning time soon. I really like the just put down look on these old tools. Take care my friend.
Awesome wrench I have never seen one in person.... Well I do not have a drawer like that. 6 or 7 large totes is more like it.😂😂😂 Started as a single tote for odd things that led to many more totes full of stuff... And my side work benches are starting areas of odds and ends to be sorted some year. Glad I am not the only one using hand drill wire wheel on the good ole press for finer work. 🤘🤘I have used penetrol wipe it in let it set then with a shop rag rub it vigorously to warm it up and remove the excess.. that came out great...
Thanks Man! This is the first one I've ever seen in person too and I am lucky to have found it. I got an entire little shop full right now of organized and yet to be organized tools. Nice tip about the rag, appreciate it Brother.
Great video and wrench brother. Some things need to be left alone and that was one. You took it back just enough preserving the character and use of the tool; even though yours is destined to be a wall hanger. Take care buddy and love to the family. I’m sure it must be cooling down there for you as it’s shorts and tee shirt weather every day here. We’re already starting to chase birds, lizards and arachnids out of the house.
Thanks Brother, I think this wrench just needed to be cleaned and left in it's natural state like it was just used and set down. It's so weird here..We are having warm spells here..the spiders won't go to sleep! Take care love to you all!
" A drawer" I wish! Most of them look like that! 🤣So frustrating when you know you have something and can't find it! The cleanup/resto was perfect for the wrench, it's very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Looks awesome! I’d never heard of that wrench before. Speaking of your drawer my whole garage looks like that. I’m serious! I got way more stuff than I do room. Fixing to start cleaning it up tomorrow. Take it easy brother!
Hey Brother! This is the first one I've seen in person and I like the simple finish for the old tools, My shop is looking like that drawer right now.. I got stuff everywhere! Take care.
Sure looks a lot better without all that paint on there. It's going to look good on the wall. Yeah when the junk drawer is hard to close I have to go through it and do some organizing. Nice job George take care!
Mike,Mike,Mike! You know me..I love that bare natural metal look and that paint wasn't doing this tool any favors. I can still close mine so I think I'm good to go for a couple more weeks. 😅. Take care my friend catch ya on the flip side.
It took me a long time to rid the shop of those catch all drawers/bins. It is a heck of a job to organize. It feels good once everything has its own place though. Nice job on the wrench! I agree with not bluing it. Sometimes that makes it very hard to see the detail.
Thanks Kurt! Your shop is very nice! I love the way you have it organised. I love the natural metal look especially on old tools like these that can speak for themselves. Take care Buddy, Ill talk with ya later.
That turned out awesome brother the lauqer really made it pop it was in really good shape before hand no heavy pitting if any so I think you made the right choice by just making it look a little more presentable plus I like leaving character on tools as far as my junk drawer I can relate for sure I call it organized chaos and I sum it up as being a man lol take care brother and thanks for sharing
Thanks Brother Don! It was in fantastic condition and so just a good clean up is all this baby needed. "A Man" that's funny.. Take care Brother, I'll catch up with ya later.
Thanks Captain Ivan! I'm telling ya It's a battle keeping up with the shop cleaning lately. That job thing keeps getting in the way. Take care Brother, I'll catch up with ya soon.

Thanks Guy! I really like the worn look on some of my tools especially the old odd ones.

Thank You David, I actually do have a few sets of them and I also know where they are..🤣. I totally didn't think to use them!
