Thank You! I really appreciate it!
Nice job George!
Thanks Scott!
Thank you. I just arrived home after dinner with the wife and friends. I needed a good tool pal video.
You're welcome Brother! I got ya!
Hi George, Nice job ! Roland
Thank You Roland
Ohhhhh, I love those old, old Diamond adjustables. Great job! I thought for a second you were gonna melt the damn thing with all that heat. Haha! Just kidding.
Thanks Buddy! I got a little over zealous! LOL. Still on the hunt for the 24 inch!
came out great George, and I'm trying out that Deox too.
Thanks Ken! Let me know what you think of it. I've been using it for a few weeks and I really like it.
Nice little wrench I will have to give that rust remover a try I like saving money
Thanks Jefferey, The Deox C is fantastic and seriously you can't beat that price.
Congrats on avoiding calling it a ‘crescent’ wrench. You da man!
Thanks Guy! I do what I can! 😅
Nice job!
Thank You!
Nice work dude.
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Some things just fight you all the way. That little spanner put up a hell of a fight but you conquered it and made it pretty again. Great job brother.
All our love to you and your family mate.
Thank You My Brother! It's these little projects that you think are gonna be easy that give you trouble. But we got it looking nice and it'll be a good addition to the collection. Take care and Big hugs to the family.
That little wrench looks great George. Well done!
Thank You Mr. Bill! I hope you are doing well.
Great looking wrench!! Hope your vacation is going well and you are having fun!! have a safe one brother!
Thanks Patrick! I am having a nice vacation been in the shop everyday! Hope they aren't working ya too hard. . Take it easy Brother!
Fantastic job on my favorite adjustable wrench. Will look awesome on your display. How does DEOX compare to evaporust. I also am now a big fan of Aero-Kroil. Thanks again for sending it to me.
Thank You Mr. John! The Deox C works the same as evaporust but it's a lot cheaper. Let me know when you start running low on the Aero-Kroil I'll send ya another can.
That wrench came out wonderful. I was surprised about the lack of pitting when you got it cleaned up! That rust remover looks like it does a great job and is cheaper than evaporust. Thanks again and see you next time.
Hey Mike! It wasn't terrible under the rust and I worked it a bit with the 1x30. The Deox C is really good and has a fantastic price point. Thanks Brother see you later.
Nice job! I didn’t know about that rust remover product. When it comes time for me to stock up I’ll definitely be buying some!
Thanks Kurt! Ya Man give it a try it's really good stuff and you can't beat the price especially when you are cleaning up tools in bulk. Take it easy and I'll catch up with you later.
That diamond adjustable wrench came out great!!!!❤
Thanks Stephen! I really like how it turned out and to have another one for my collection.
Nice Diamond adjustable, I have a few of there tools, they are great! Nice video 👍🏼
Thanks! They are one of my top tools to collect and they are just fantastic users.
Wow! That came out great! Thanks for all the great tips. Nice job, George. 👍🏼
Thank You! I'm glad to share what I can with you.
Beautiful wrench and a job well done.
Thank You, I really appreciate you checking it out and taking time to leave a nice comment.
Excellent George , deox seems to give the metal bavk its origibsl shine too , really ba k to a very nice finish , much cheaper than the competition
Jim, You are absolutely right. Thanks for turning me on to it. I've been trying for months to get it after I saw you using it. So far I'm really liking it especially the price. 15 US gallons for the price of 5 of the other stuff! You see my Flea market hauls so you know how many tools I gotta clean everyday. It's a game changer!
The wrench really cleaned up nicely. Looks good. You know, any adjustable wrench I have ever taken apart, there was never any washers or springs involved, ever. I have only had one adjustable wrench that had the screw in it. The rest have been pins. Hope you have a good rest of your day. Oh, thanks for the info on the Deox-C and for the link too. I made a note of it.
Hey Kid! You know I think it just depends on the age and brand of the tool. I've seen Diamond with and without them. Same with a lot of other brands. You are welcome for the link..We all gotta save money where we can especially with this hobby..LOL. Take care and if you try the Deox C in the future let me know how you like it.
@@Uwannawatch 👍
Awesome Job restoring that wrench
Thanks Brother! I appreciate the compliment!
@@Uwannawatch your welcome. Thought of you today when I found some stuff while picking up junk/trash at work. I will post a video later of my finds
@@scrapper13215 Sweet!
Great job nice tool saved and useable enjoyed the video
Thank you Dan! I'm very happy to have it for my collection.
That really turned out nice, that 6 inch size is my favorite. I buy them when I can and fixem up just to satay in practice. Do I have too many? Yep, but Who cares except the wife…hopefully she never finds my little storage box!
Thanks John! I don't know what too many means and your secret is safe here. 🤣🤣
Hello George, I have seen some of the UK guys use the Deox-C. I would like your comparison between the evaporust. The wrench looks great The Diamond Caulk is one of my favorite tools too, have a good week talk to ya soon.
Hey Mr. Dale! It works just like evaporust but a lot cheaper. I know Jim has been using it for years and you know he cleans a lot of tools! I'm very happy with the way the wrench came out and I'm happy to put it in my little collection. Talk to you later Brother!
Great job on a great old wrench!
Thanks Man! I was very happy with how it came out and it's gonna go nice in my little collection.
Awesome resto Super George! Looks like brand new!
Thanks Captain Ivan! I'm quite happy with how it came out and it'll be a nice addition to my little collection.
@@Uwannawatch i have a 12" Diamond Horseshoe and Calk Duluth that belonged to my dad that i restored.
@@ivanstiles7030 That's awesome Captain!
Excellent restoration Brother
Thanks Brother!
I use the smaller 6's more than the others, have a very very old 10 that I have tossed Blaster at it, Panther P@##, heat and the screw still has not come free. It's back in the drawer until I have another go at it. Like the empty tennis ball tube for longer thin items. "Stealing that 😊" as usual that came out great.
Hey Brother! Thanks! Aero Kroil is my go to for super stuck things. If Blaster don't get it free. I have a few tools that are like that and the best thing to do is let them soak and walk away...Take it easy Brother.
Always enjoyable, thanks again
Thank you and thanks for checking in Brother.
Great video brother! It came out very nice and super smooth! I will look into the that new rust remover. Thanks for sharing that.
Thanks Fred G! Ya Man give it a try it's some good stuff and you can't beat the price especially as many tools as we run through.
Hey !George vraiment une très belle restauration, la petite clé est superbe. Ce qui me fait penser qu'il me manque celle ci et la plus grande qui existe. ❤
Thank You Patrick! I'm missing the biggest one. I never really see them and when I do they are very expensive.
Nice work there, George. 👍🏻
Thanks Joe! I appreciate ya brother.
Tennis ball container. Good repurpose.
Thanks, We have tons of them around my house.
Beautiful restoration George. The rust remover looks like it done a good job without turning it black like the other stuff does. I know only time will tell how long the jar of it will continue to be effective. Thanks George
Stays effective for around 2-300 rusty wrenches .
Thanks Michael. It does leave a coating. I've been using it on a lot of tools over the last couple weeks but Jim has been using it for years and I can't even imagine how many tools have run through his shop.
@@toolrestoration Thanks for The Information on it!
8:30 a tennis ball container? Are you kidding me? That is so brilliant!
Thanks! It works!
your rust remover is a pretty good deal but the tennis ball container is even better for it.
Thanks!
Nice job George looks great. You sure the pin was not staked in place? All the ones I have worked on I needed to grind the nub to remove the screw.
Thanks for the video
Thanks! No Man it was completely rusted up inside the body. That thing was a booger. My 18 in wasn't staked either.
Another great job George. What grit was that sanding belt you used.? It did a great job
Hey Robert! Thanks! I used a worn out 120 and went back over it with the grey conditioning belt.
Very nice cleanup of the adjustable wrench. Removing the pitting from the head of the wrench really made a difference. Thumbwheel pins can be a challenge when dealing with these old wrenches, as I am finding out with an old Crestoloy adjustable wrench (my latest project). Thanks
Hey Pat Thanks Brother! Ya these pins all have different attitudes that's for sure. Hope you get yours done without too much fuss.
I’m sold!!!!
It's good stuff. I think you are gonna be quite happy with it.
Great job George! Have you tried “Backyard Ballistics Rust Remover” DIY solution? It’s pretty cheap and works better than Evapo Rust and it doesn’t attack metal surfaces like your typical acid treatment solutions like vinegar, straight circus acid, oxalis acid, etc…
I wonder how it would compare to the Deox-C?
Thank You, I've used that solution and other home made ones in the past they did ok. But to be honest with you.I like the Deox c. It only costs about $10 a gallon.
@ I watched a few more videos on Deox-C and it appears the metal comes out of the solution looking cleaner without a layer of darker film that needs to be cleaned off like with other solutions. Is this right?
@@dbusby77 I've seen that cast iron pieces. come out dark. But as for the other tools I've done it hasn't left that dark residue. But I think as the solution gets dirty it might. I've done over 40 tools in the same small batch I mixed.
@ good to know, I will get some of it when my current rust remover solution runs out. I was going through cleaning up some of my resent tool haul sockets trying to round out my Bonney and vintage USA S-K / S-K Wayne socket sets and ran across at least one Kraeuter.
You mentioned that you are working on your Kraeuter socket set. What sizes are you missing and I will keep an eye open for some.
@@dbusby77 Cool. Give it a try. Sounds like you got a nice tool haul! I'll look through and see what I need. And let me know what you are missing and I'll check what I got.
15 seconds with a propane torch works.
It works indeed. When in doubt torch it.
Welcome to the Deox club, I first found out about it on Jim's channel, the stuff keeps working for ages, even when it looks like tar! Start drinking gallons of tea and spelling words with an unnecessary amount of letters in them and then you can apply for English citizenship!
Hey Alex! That's funny! We do watch a lot of Time Team and We love Sir Tony Robinson! I found Deox through Jim's channel too.It seriously took me months to find a supplier to get it here in the US. I've done over 40 wrenches in that one tennis ball tube and you can still see through it. This stuff is amazing!
@@Uwannawatch time team takes me back, can you get the Repair Shop over there? I'm addicted to that, the wife just thinks I'm sad though 😁
@@Bloodshed.restorations Ya we watch that one too.
They coated those wrenches with Cadmium, I have heard
That's what I've heard a lot too.
@@Uwannawatch should I be concerned when I go to wire brush them? Is cadmium toxic enough to get heavy metal fever here?
@@devinteske You should always be cautious when dealing with these old tools who knows what metals they used in them. Whatever you do don't wire wheel Beryllium at all.
I would of soaked it for a week
No need to soak it for a week. I only had to soak it less than 24 hours. Thanks for checking in I appreciate it.
None of it works any better than 5 percent vinegar. You do have to watch the vinegar and rinse well in baking soda water mix.
5$ per gallon compared to 30$
Hey Robert. I know a lot of people use vinegar and it does work.. But I can't handle the smell it gives me headaches.
