This man has been one of the most underrated actors since Oz. He hasn't lost one step.
Eamonn Walker is a great actor. I have a funny feeling he is British.
@@TheDarkhorse1947and you’re right on that.
This episode got me
That is Kareem 😂
@@TheDarkhorse1947 marigold has gone far...
I remember this episode. Boden was having a really bad day and this made the day better.
Just a day? I'd say that'd at LEAST make my month
Eeyup.
I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago on Fox a rerun. Love that moment
This one still gets me teary eyed.
Chief Boden is one of the my absolute favourite characters on TV.
He's going to be MISSED
Chicago Fire want be the same without Eamonn Walker almost all the original cast have left the series just like my other favorite show Chicago PD
Dang. Teared all up. My daughter and son in law are adopting a little girl who was abandoned too. So precious! What a privilege to be a "Papa" again.
Congrats to you, sir.
Seconded.
Congratulations
Eamonn Walker played this scene beautifully. He worked through so many emotions in mere minutes. The other actors and writers obviously played a part in pulling this scene off, but Eamonn Walker really brought out Chief Boden's character in this scene.
He's very good
How his face and stress just melted when he realized who she was. Like all the stress of his office just fell off even for just that brief moment

@@chewy739Charlotte was a living, breathing, thriving example of why they do what they do.
Chief Boden definitely needed this cheer-me-up after the crap storm of that day.
And then he got some ice cream and bagels 🥯
I haven’t watched this show but have seen this clip on TH-cam many times and it always hits the spot.
I remember watching this episode & when she ask Chief Boden if he remembered her, I was like “What? Who is she?” then when she proceeds to tell him & his reply “I always wondered what happened to you”, the waterworks started. This was such a great scene.
Bro, whos slicing onions in a moment like this
They picked the perfect girl for this part as Charlotte. Just adorable.
Great smile on her, with eyes full of gratitude and life.
And she played it perfectly. Just the right amount of weight, not overdoing it.
Kindness is such a beautiful thing isn't it? Boden took the little girl in. And in a way was indirectly responsible for giving her a good life. Firehouses are one of the places orphaned kids are supposed to left at aren't they? What are the other places please?
I think it depends on the state you live in, but if you google your state and the Safe Haven Laws that would have the most accurate answer
Hospitals and emergency clinics
In my country, we have what we call "Life Boxes". They are like a window that can be opened from the outside. Inside there is a child's cradle where a baby is placed. It is warm, it is safe and the staff gets a warning. The medics immediately examine the child, the child is fed, etc. Parents who leave their child in this place are not penalised.
Redmond, the first answer is the most accurate way to find out.
but, as you and the second comment said ... firehouses and hospitals/emergency clinics are almost always gonna be "safe haven" designated locations.
Some Arizona firehouses have 24-hour No Question Asked baby drop-off locations. if I remember correctly we’ve had them for more than 20+ years but the 1st and only baby turned in happened just a few years ago. The firefighter who found the baby was adopted by the firefighter & his wife.
One of the best scenes ever to play on TV, I remember this episode. The look on Boden's face is priceless after he learns who she is.
What episode is it
@@Tictac234jeff Season 1, Episode 22.
I remember watching this episode and I has tears rolling down my face. Wow Boden such a great human being and would be a great boss to have.
Its amazing that 'Boden' is actually a British actor. :)
You no good sum batches got me crying over hear. This is an amazingly written seen beautifully. And altho I am a staunch supporter of the american Firemen Mr. Walker played this beautifully. Seriously touched this old writers heart.
Dang invisible ninjas slicing onions up in here…
The look in Herman's face, even Boden knew something was up.
On this job the bad stuff weighs you down quick. But it takes just one good moment like this to shatter on this and help you breath again.
Amen to that
Dang I hate when I watch shows like this and dust gets in my eyes making them water.
You could feel the emotion through the screen when this happened. As a former volunteer fireman myself, I can honestly say that there is no other feeling in the world like being able to help somebody in a moment of need or when they are injured or whatever the case may be. You work long shifts and you just hope that at the end of the day that what you did for that person was enough and that they’ll be OK. Granted we never had a baby left on the doorstep of our fire station but every once in a while, we would have somebody come to the fire station looking to thank us, and although we don’t expect gratitude for what we’ve done, it does make our day a little bit better when we meet somebody who pulled through because of our efforts. I can understand completely the range of emotions that chief Boden went through here.
I can watch this a thousand times and still get choked up every time. So well done!
This should make anyone cry, so powerful.
Involuntary tears watching this. What a scene. What fine acting!
This is why I love this show. It always brings out the beat in people
Best?😂
I'm over here at work watching this and try so hard not to cry 😢😢😢
Brilliant and touching meeting years later
Why am I crying?? 😢
Me too I remember this 😢
because you are a good human .
Every time I watch this it reminds me of a young lady I ran into years ago. She had overdosed and we wanted to get her seen. She at the time stated it was accidental so we could not really do much but I spoke with her for almost an hour trying to convince her to be seen.
A few years later I saw her again and she asked if I remembered her which at the time I did not. She told me she was that girl who overdosed and when she went home she sat and thought about our conversation.
She told me she did not have a family that was close so she never had a male figure actually care enough to want to help her but respect her enough to not force her to do anything.
She said that it was the first time she ever looked at a man as a father figure and she cried all night because she knew that there was a life for her.
I asked her how she was and she introduced me to her kids. She said had I not have shown her that she was worthy of being loved as a human and not for pleasure she may not have been here today and had those kids.
The job has it tough times and it’s hard times but knowing you changed just one life makes all the bad worth while to see one good.
Wow. How beautiful. What a beautiful scene 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Every time that I watch this, I cry. Sometimes, I watch this because I need good cry.

This is so heartwarming. I love all the Chicago shows
He is a great fighter of fire. And he prefers it his way.
If you don’t get this reference, we can’t be friends lol
There is a only a few times Boden been emotional and this is one of them.
Even though the rest of his day had been crap, Boden could sleep well tonight, knowing that he had honestly made a difference in his life.
aww man this was heartwarming! You never know how blessing someone with good deeds can come back to you when you leas expect it

Thank You for this information; I was wondering about her name and credentials; she is talented individual.
Yes very talented.@@joelmohr3232
Omg i remember this. Didnt realize how long ago this episdoe was though.
After 20+ years involved in fire services, the unfortunate reality is that regardless of what kind of unit u belong to (city, airport, military or private) a chief Boden is indeed the kind of lead you'd look up to, support no matter what and try to emulate on a daily basis ... In reality its EXTREMELY hard to encounter such chief these days. His level of integrity, loyalty, character, grit under pressure and prínciple kinda gives you hope that you might become one day a white shirt people want to work for. Only 1 SFO to this day that I worked for that I can honestly say reminded me of Boden and unfortunately he retired
“You know, Charlotte, they call me the Lord of War. But I think it is you.”
Well…. This has me balling my eyes out🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲😭😭😭😭😭
AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Such a great underrated actor❤
I'm crying
This really got me tiered up man 🥹🥹🥹
truly heartwarming
Love love love Chief Boden!
Damn! That was good!!
My first time seeing this scene I had a Hard Time Holding Back Tears knowing that I’ve been through this
1:38 "I always wondered what happened to you!" 😢😢
I'm not crying... you're crying
And just like that, the mountain of paper work Chief Bodin was dealing with ceased to exsist......
At least for a little bit
Probably made the chief's whole life.❤️👍💯
I enjoy watching Chicago Fire and I wish I could meet all of the cast
I met Joe Cruz and Chris Herman
That is awesome
Never seen this show. This is the first clip of the show I’ve ever seen. May have to watch this.
Great show
In 2010, I found a toddler who was left in a Wal-Mart parking lot. It had snowed recently, and with the windchill factor, it was like 5 below. The child was left in a truck with the windows down. The child had on a t-shirt and a little pair of jeans and was barefooted. I called 911, and the dispatcher told me that I needed to stop making a clicking noise. I explained to the dispatcher that was the baby's teeth chattering. Everyone responded to the location, and the baby's temp was 78 degrees, and the baby had ringworm . The baby bottle was full of Hennessey. The mom was found in Wal-Mart and passed out over her shopping cart. A lady asked the paramedic on scene if she could the baby a pack of cookies. The kid ate two small packs of cookies and drank 2 little Sunny Delights. When I went to court, I learned this was the second time that the baby had been found. The state took the baby and placed it in foster care. The mom was on the run. I would love to see that kid and know everything turned out okay one day.
This one gets me every time
