Nothing much to really say. The Aegonfort was nice to have during the conquest of the 7 Kingdoms, but it took King Aegon awhile to realize it wasn't much of a seat of power.
1st to take the Black for House Blackfyre🗡 The Red Keep was probably King Daemon Blackfyre's home for most of his life. Through both his mothers claim and father's choice it should have been his along with the rest of the realm.
You know I never really thought that. It was said Daemon was trained by the master of arms, who I think was Quentyn Ball at the time, so it makes sense he grew up there. Being the bastard son of a King and Princess, he would've lived a life of luxury there. Jon Snow complained a lot about how he was treated in Winterfell, imagine if Daemon complained having grew up in the seat of royal power lol.
@NRV0 you are right it was Fireball. As a Blackfyre super fan I think about King Daemon Blackfyre's childhood more than I should things like I wonder if he was treated better after Aegon acknowledged him because while I'm sure he was treated well comparatively. I can't imagine many people cared about the bastard son of a wilful princess who was locked away for a while and had no allies.
I find it funny the “temporary” outpost of the Targaryen’s conquest, built very quickly, is a match for deepwood motte of house glover who have had centuries of ownership
Yeah well Northerners are poorer and stubborn. Look at Moat Caitlin. Ruin for centuries but apparently an essential fortress. Northern lords are foolish.
for me it comes down to two factors, firstly location, King's Landings position at the mouth of the blackwater is a invaluable trade location so any city built there was always going to do well, it's more odd that there wasn't really anything there pre conquest. So economically the crownlands are in a stronger positions that the north allowing the rapid growth, but also its a population issue, while the north is large in size it is very sparsely populated, less population means the ceiling for growth is much lower for the north hence why White Harbor is the only true city, again another key port and trade location.
@@WorldOfWesteros that’s all true but so is dorne and the iron islands. Moat Caitlin is mean to be the key to the north and it’s a ruin. Poor lording!?
Thank you Maegor for overseeing the final construction of the red keep.
One of the few good things he did .
For the watch!!!!!!!

Maegor was a good king
Wouldn't call him good, but he was the man for the job for putting the faith in its place.
@@NRV0 That's true besides kept his bloodline alive to but it did alot better than some of newer kings that ruled
👍👍👍
Why are northern castles in ruin while they grew so quickly?
