Stripping down and refurbishing the Starter Motor from a Honda GL1500 Goldwing. The full tutorial with photos is here; www.goldwingfacts.com/1500star...
Best video I've seen! And I have 400 and some Gold Wing fix it video's saved. I have a 81 gl 1100. It's work in progress. I need the other half of this video.
Thanks. This removes some of the ambiguity of this operation. The original starter lasted about 30 years but the replacements though inexpensive seem to last about a year and a half. The most recent failed differently in that the driving gear is spinning on the shaft, I think. Squeechy screamy noise. Maybe I will find this pin when I take apart?
what does the starter do when the brushes are bad, i have a 1979 gl 1000 and i have to hit the ignition a few times before it will turn over, its is like the battery is dead but its not,, and this starter very simmilar to mine it looks like it thanks

Great breakdown video. I have an 88 gl1500 and a new starter is impossible to find. So it looks like I'm rebuilding it.

Thanks For the great video, Bill
That's a great video, thank you.
Do you have any videos showing removal of GL1500 engine and replacing starter gear?

Have you ruled out a dirty or bad starter button?
thanks
Maybe next time I overhaul one.
