It stems from the parents! My boyfriend’s mom offered to take me to get on the pill. My mom never offered or talked to me about how important it was. I got pregnant at 22 and that was still young
His mom was such an enabler you can tell in how he acted. Not just for helping them sneak around. He talking about Samantha is expecting so much out of him that isn’t needed yet. Sir you’re 18 years old and you’re a father now and have a baby with a 16 year old kid like when do you think itll be time for you to step up & grow up? You can’t rely on your mom forever to take care of you smh
I agree I don't blame Samantha's mom for being frustrated with Eric's mom. As a mother when you lay those boundaries down you expect ppl especially your kid not to cross them so when you find out that another parent is breaking the rules and then your kid gets pregnant bc someone else wasn't respecting you as a mother. That's infuriating.
Eric's mom needs a man of her own and some hobbies; she's too invested in her son's relationship, sneaking him around to get laid and all that.

Oh I felt her pain through that screen. Poor girl. The pain mothers go through….. happy Mother’s Day everybody!
I wanted to give her a hug, hearing her cry in pain made me tear up. The pain moms go through to bring their children into this world is off the charts.
Just a big ole baby having a baby herself. It was the Pitocin that was making her hurt like that, no doubt. I was begging for a c-section after being in labor for only a few hrs after being induced with it, but I was also really young myself. That medication Pitocin, don’t play.
@@christinamoran1027 that happened to my sister last month. They gave her pitocin when my nephew was being born snd she was in so much pain, my mom and I cried because it was hard for us too. I felt it through the screen and I felt it through my sister.

There's nothing that the boy's mom could say to justify that she enabled them kids. She sounded like she wasn't going to take accountability for her actions. Her mom is right with being angry at his mom. She was trying to protect her child! But now she has a pregnant 16 year old with a 18 year old dad for the baby.
This episode is important because it shows you how painful it is.
It should not be that painful. They induced artificial labor on her with the drug pitocin and they broke her water very early which makes the contractions much stronger and more painful. She was lying on her back which doesn't help labor progess at all, and having back labor on top of all that. I went natural and it was a very nice experience, very bearable until transition at 8cm but it goes fast then it feels relieving to push.
@@jeannie1592 I’ve had two kids. My first was a failed induction also, the medicine didn’t work and they had to put me under. For a lot of women it is very painful

When I had my baby 40 years ago they didn't offer any pain relief.

Right, could you just imagine being in that situation. I’m not sure how I would react as her mom, but I know it wouldn’t be pretty. Samantha seemed so young, sweet and innocent. The way she laughed and spoke, seemed a lot younger to me then 16. I would hold some type of grudge against her for helping to corrupt ( in my opinion) my daughter and then having to be related to the wom@n…yep I can’t imagine that.

Well being a teen mom herself, she should of expected it. Birth control, period. I put my daughter on them when she 12, way before she became active. You can not take any chances with young fem@les today. If they want to do it, they will always find a way…better believe it so it’s better to be safe and start young.
“You can’t really prevent pregnancy.” That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Ive not had kids, but watching this made me feel for this girl; Low pain tolerance is absolutely real.
I have an extremely low pain tolerance but my labour was absolutely easy, especially compared to this one. The key is being aware of your birth options. The doctors and nurses have a very one size fits all view of labour, my midwife gave me alternate birth positions, and tricks to help move baby along. There is also no reason that they need to induce her the day after her due date. The due date is simply an estimate. Induction is far more painful as it forces a woman into labour when her body is not ready. When women go into labour naturally, the contractions are less painful and they progress faster and more easily. I highly recommend that anyone who is pregnant or planning to be, talks to a midwife or does their own research on how to have a more positive birth. Everything this girl went through was completely unnecessary.

I got to give it to the nurse Samantha had. I have seen labor and delivery nurses not caring, telling mothers to stop screaming, getting annoyed, etc. She was caring and professional (especially since Samantha was so young and her labor was painful and scary).
She deserves a raise for being so compassionate.
Yes I had this really rude nurse when I was in labor with my son she told me to be quiet I was scaring the other patients
Right ? My nurse left me alone without putting my baby near me.. then she scolded me for getting up to get my crying baby !! I called 3 times for help .. she said she was “busy “‘…. I filed a formal complaint against her and the hospital!!
This was so sad and painful to watch.
She was sweet and innocent, and in the end, she was forced to grow up and be responsible and care for jordynn.
Consequences don't just happen to loud girls
I noticed that too, in the beginning she looked all happy and full of life, and by the end of the episode she looked drained.
Proud of myself that I was strong enough to hold it down as a teen mom solo. My baby is 20 now.

C-section at 16. I was dying at age 29 with my first born. The recovery is no jokeee!
I agree! I was 33 with my last child and the c section was worse than I expected! It was terrible. I couldn't even move.
Had a C-section last year at 32 with my 3rd. I’d rather had done vaginal but baby was breech.
I had a c section sadly he didn't make it but the recovery yeah was crazy!!
I couldn't be a nail tech listening to that. I would've been crying my eyes out hearing a young girl say that. I know the feeling😢

I love how we’re all watching these episodes. I’m in my 20’s and never been pregnant I was terrified to be a teen mom. I actually cried tears watching her give birth and I’m so happy how focused and positive she is. Much love!

Unfortunately this is true for men and women regardless of age. Most married women are single parents although the father lives in the home. Women are expected to do child and house things.

She seems so incredibly, young sweet and innocent. It’s hard to believe that she was doing what she was doing to make a baby, like she seems like a 11 year old little girl. Listen to her laugh and baby talking. Like she would still be playing with Barbie dolls. Where was her parents, siblings etc? Kids are growing up far too fast…just be kids while you can. It only happens once and goes by so, so fast.
The pressure on teens to be adults is horrendous. They watch the Kardashians and other shows that make their lifestyles look glamorous. They ignore real-life role models. Their parents want to be their friends. As a society adults are so embarrassed by having to explain issues related to sexuality that the most powerful influences their friends, MTV videos and telenovelas. Who will teach these young mothers how to maintain a budget and manage a household? Who will prepare them for the heartbreak of seeing the carefree lives of their girlfriends while the young mom is at home taking care of a baby?
This episode should be shown in school!

I feel Eric’s mum is an enabler. Letting her son hang out with Samantha knowing they were active and that Sam’s parents banned her for seeing Eric for that reason is just awful
This shows how dumb people are.. the one friend "There is no way to prevent pregnancy " 🙄🤦♀️ and then the boys mom allowing them to sneak behind her parents back and look what it brought for them to get pregnant.
Putting her on pitocin right away was cruel 😢 pitocin contractions are 100x more painful😭🤬

I didn’t know about pictocin contractions being more painful, until that happened to me and ended up having a c section 😢 my epidural failed too, it was too much,
I agree. I had that with my first child and it was horrible! Then my epidural didn't work and the baby was stuck in the birth canal due to my uneven pelvis because of my scoliosis. I literally prayed for death. The pain was so bad.
My daughter started on birth control at 16, because I wanted my daughter to be able to go to college and get a career, maybe find herself before settling down. She's 30 now, and still unsure about having kids. If she is happy, I'm happy. She will when she's ready.

When they were talking about abstinence, the blonde girl looked like she was confused. She really didn’t know that there was ways to prevent pregnancy. Somebody is failing this little girl hard…. She’s not prepared. That girl had no idea about birth control and condoms. Oh my Lord what do you mean you can’t prevent pregnancy? I mean I guess it’s not always 100% preventable even with contraceptives, but wow.
There was a “where are they now?” Segment with her. Jordan was five. Samantha was working as a dispatcher and I believe Eric was going to college. She was crying about how she can’t go back to school because she has a kid to take care of. But she did it in a weird way with her child right there

I agree. She was only 37 weeks I don’t see how that was her due date and why she HAD to get induced. She could’ve waited up til 42weeks and been fine. Maybe if she went into labor naturally she wouldn’t have needed a C-section… but to each its own.

I used to watch this show as a teenager. I feel so bad for Samantha’s labor journey! I’m 35 now and due any day with my second child… I just feel so hurt for how she had to labor with baby Jordan.

This mindset lead to my country (Philippines) having an extremely high birth rate and teen pregnancy rate and the country is so poor that none of them can be supported. The problem is these girls weren’t educated properly.

I think one of the reasons they stopped it was because especially the first couple seasons some of the teen moms became "celebrities," so girls were getting pregnant on purpose!!! So it had the opposite affect that it was supposed to smh. Parents need to get their daughters on birth control, even if they don't want to believe they are sexually active! Sorry, but I was 15, was dating my hs bf for a year already, and knew that intercourse was imminent 😂 So I asked my mom to take me to my OB, BMbut she knew I was getting on the pill and NOT happy. But would she rather me get pregnant? I don't trust condoms alone either

The fact that the mother of the son at dinner was saying that she didn't know what she was doing but she knows now was total bs! Her job as a mother of a son is to make sure she encourages him to use condoms and not have them sneaking around to see each other! I feel like parents of a certain age forget that their kids are teenagers and their kids are not exempt from making these types of foolish childish mistakes. When the mom gives birth to the baby son, the brother ends up sharing a room with the baby. Their house is severely overcrowded. Honestly I think the mom got pregnant so the guy wouldnt go anywhere. Women and men need to stop having kids with no real way of putting them somewhere.

The last update I heard of this couple, she was working at Best Buy. She's upset that the boyfriend could finish school, but she couldn't. I think she lived for a brief time with the boyfriend's family but it didn't work out. Jordan had some kind of medical issue, and had to have an operation. This was a few years ago. Hope Samantha is doing okay.
I got pregnant at 16 as well when this show came out. My boyfriend at the time was terrified of being a dad, and I was scared, too, but I wanted to keep it.
Eventually, he convinced me to get an abortion. I used to watch this show, and I was glad I had an abortion.
I'm now married to a better man than that boyfriend ever was. We have 3 kids❤

Oh man I’m crying at the nail salon scene. I had my first baby at 27 and I swear the feelings were just the same. Scared about EVERYTHING. It’s like my mind is still blown that I’m responsible for not just my own life but two other souls 🤯

I went through the same thing I ended up with a high fever, the medication was tm for the baby the baby heart rate slowed down and I needed oxygen...
