Sophie and Ashleigh are best friends. 16 year old Ashleigh and her 19 year old boyfriend Ryan are expecting their first child and Sophie, 15, has just discovered that she too is expecting a baby and is due just seven weeks after her friend.
Ashleigh is determined to give her child a stable and happy childhood with the involvement of both parents. But since falling pregnant, the pressure of imminent parenthood has caused cracks in hers and Ryan’s relationship and caused her to question their future together. Sophie lives at home with her family and the father of her baby, 17 year old fiancé Connor. Neither Sophie nor student Connor currently have a job and Sophie’s hardworking parents do all they can to provide for the family.
