My people, it seems that Radeon Anti-Lag+ frametimes being worse than the normal Anti-Lag might be due to the game engine or optimization. In the Witcher 3, anti-lag+ had worse frametimes but still felt much better, while in Starfield it didn't. It seems that anti-lag+ works better in fully GPU bottlenecked scenarios as well.
P.S. As stated by some viewers, it seems the FPS values shown there are the number of frames it takes from the Action to the Screen Display.
Cheers!
I always use this to play csgo ;) better responsiveness...
Can you test modded drivers and rdna2?
The new AMD drivers are crashing my system, can you tell me how to role back with adrenalin please?
@@snajper2222huh? What's your CPU and GPU?
Are you Gandalf or Saruman? What do you choose? Rtx 4060 or rx 6700xt? What do you think of Pathtracing???
That's why I can never miss one of your videos, haven't seen anyone making this kind of testing that helps us a LOT!
Guys, releasing videos almost every day? Damn son, I'm on fire! (not literally, that wouldn't be cool at all).
Yooooo
you are on fire mah dude! hahahaha do you recommend getting the amine drivers for the 6700 xt? that anti lag + seems very good and hi from dominican republic!
My RIP AMD that's on fire is on more fire too💪 RIP AMD🎉
on fire :D great job man!
You can't use Anti-Lag+ even with modded drivers sadly @@LustSinJin
I would love to see the AntiLag+ at least on 6000 cards, would make my move to AMD even better 😅
To my understanding you need to have the AI cores found on the 7000 series to use anti-lag+ but you can still use anti-lag on older GPUs.
If it doesn't need specific 7000 instructions it will come to 6000
@@mmadevgameSadly not true. Radeon Super Resolution isn't available for Vega despite supporting FSR1 well in games
@@mmadevgame it needs the IA cores on the 7000 series. It will not come to the 6000 series!!!
@@Factsfun-kg4xc are you absolutely sure about that? Is the source code of AntiLag+ on amds github yet? If not please stop saying "it's exclusive to 7000 series" as they seem fine to implement FSR3 on driver level in 2024 Q1 across the board
I really hope older generations get these new features.
At least 6000 series may have it, the older ones I don't know, so far you have the normal anti-lag only
@@AncientGameplays if not ,we always can count on amernime`s guys

Is antilag+ hardware restrictive ?
@@manu-singhCurrently rx 7000 series, 6000 series May come in the future(1 or 2 years?). Don’t know about 5000 series and earlier.
Great examples and explanations. Much appreciated. I look forward to your new driver video. Take care and thanks as always, Sir.
I just recently got an AMD card and I've learned a lot about AMD's software features from this channel. Appreciate the work you do here, it's been very helpful in tuning and optimizing everything. I did have stutters when using raytracing in Crysis 3 Remastered, but Anti-Lag+ did indeed eliminate them.
Glad I can help :D
Anti lag+ makes a significant difference in RDR2 which is known for having poor input latency and I just so happen to be playing through right now.
Yes, the video I was eagerly waiting for. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Great job! Since I bought my first amd gpu two weeks ago, this is my new favorite channel!
Thanks hahs
Ive been skeptical of these features and recently after the last update have noticed buttery smooth gameplay, it really wasn't a marketing scheme
it wasn't for sure
I think most people believe anti-lag is a marketing scheme because AMD advertises anti-lag as a way to lower latency without the disclaimer that having it enabled can negatively impact performance/frame timings if your GPU is not maxed out (95-100% utilization). I would assume there is a large part of their market that is negatively impacted by this lack of transparency due to the fact that people that are looking for performance gains are not always the ones with maxed out settings. I would love to see a way for it to automatically detect if you were gpu bound and turn on/off. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that has been my understanding.
@@Block_TTV_There is no problem with transparency - AL should not reduce performance when maxed out, and should definitely not affect anything if CPU bound…
Damn, now im hyped about Anti-lag+ and hope it gets to 6xxx series card. Would love to have it turned on in competitive games, just like how Nvidia reflex is supported in them :).
One problem is that you won't get a benefit if you don't max out your GPU, which in most cases you won't be maxing out your GPU because of the lag being generated by it.
Can’t wait for the next driver video!
Thank you again for putting the time and effort into explaining everything AMD! It helps so many of us with our AMD cards. And like others have said, you get right to the point and go into detail that's easily understandable. You rock!
Thank you!
When you were showing ms of latency, frames means how many frames does that latency imply. Basically 5 frames at 85 fps is around 60 ms i think.
Thanks for the input!
could be , allthough i think that the frames' actually show how many frames it takes for your action ( i.e. mouse click) to show on the screen. not sure tho ,just guessing.
Latency frames is the length of the game pipeline, from sampling the mouse till Present(), measured in frame times. If it is 2 or less - it’s good. If it is 3 or more - it’s bad. For a given combination of game settings/resolution this value should be pretty consistent and mostly independent on scene or framerate (unlike latency in ms). It is kind of a health-o-meter of the game’s engine.
For games w/o an internal latency reduction tech, this value will typically be an integer. For games with the simplest (or most efficient) internal pipeline it will be 2, for more complex - 3, for some it is 4 or even 5… And this is not because of “number of buffered frames” - this has to do with how many pipeline stages there are inside the game engine.
Interesting to see the differences in the games. As a casual gamer other than limiting fps to match tv/monitor ( never seem to enable undervolt successsfully as per your tutorials ) never understood if antilag made any diiference uintil now. Thanks for reviewing and will give it a go on my RX6700XT 👍
i would LOVE to see you do a video regarding everything AMD/Ryzen settings for competitve esports gamers. hard to decide when you test games that are more single player. i.e. fastest response time, fastest latency, highest lows, etc
It would be interesting to turn the visual quality settings down to see the effect on lag just to see scaling. I also wonder how human lag interacts with game lag. I also wonder if an USB interrupt priority increase could be done, if it's not already done so, to improve overall response time. Nice video, great info, thought provoking, as usual.
Thanks just what i needed 🤜🤛.
Nice improvements, this will be especially good for when Fluid Motion is released next year.
fluid motion released in a week or two (fsr3) the fluid motion forced into drivers is the one releasing q1 2024
The reason why i asked about Vr and these new drivers is, I use FSR 2 with vr now and it works well, I'm wishing fSR 3 will pose some benefit , Ill be happy with an added 15 fps increase and 25 percent clarity .
Hi, when setting up fan curves, which software do you use? When I was using Nvidia before I used to use MSI afterburner, but I feel like that can be replaced adrenalin as I've now got AMD.
Do you happen to have a video about setting up fan curves?
Another great video Fabio. Feels good moving to Amd after been myself an nvidia fan over 20 years, and seen Team Red keep improving over & over. Just a question: Should i go with modded drivers, or just official ones with 7900 xt? Casual gaming at 1440p it's my needs, nothing else.
Use the official ones with your card
I just saw that these drivers were available. Opened TH-cam, and boom. You already have a video live about them.
This is just a bit, I will do the normal review tomorrow :D
hello, i love the effort you put in your videos! one question: which program do you use to show delay in ms? thank you
Listen to the video. I always explain things 💪
Thank you for your wonderful work! the normal anti lag i use it in some games like Dota 2,Hitman 3, Batman Arkham Knight, i highly recommend it.
If you can believe it, Radeon Anti-Lag actually got rid of my stutters in Dead Space Remake after I got my 7900 XTX whereas Nvidia's Ultra Low Latency mode didn't do jack for my 3080. What's even better is that I was playing in 1440p with DLSS on balanced with the 3080 and now I'm playing it in native 4k with TAA and I'm getting a solid 120. While FSR may be crappy compared to DLSS and XeSS, AMD definitely gets some stuff right.
I can, i literally show that in the beginning
@@AncientGameplays I apologize, my intention was to give another example and express how cool it is to experience seeing as how Dead Space Remake is notorious for its stuttering problem and such a simple thing managed to eliminate it almost completely.
Very cool being able to turn this on and off for testing. But do you know if those keys do something when you do not have the info display enabled?
Hey Fabio! I have a question irrelevant with this video. I uninstalled drivers with ddu and then re-installed. I had exported radeon settings and when I imported it showed that changes had been applied but all game stats and various settings I had made previously are not there. Any idea? Sorry for posting here but I don't own any other socials. Thank
Did you play cod mw2 with the full drivers, always i get hick ups in game, and when i just instal the driver i have no problems
Speaking about drivers. I was facing some nasty glitches and high temperatures so I decided to totally purge everything: chipset and gpu drivers alike. After installing a new batch, things went back to normal, including temperatures now barely scratching 80 C on CPU in stress. It seems that sometimes it's good to reinstall chipset drivers too.
hi Fabio. I have a 6700XT PG like yours but when i install all the normal drivers (non Pro) the screen will start to flickering while playing game, watching netflix etc.....in fullscreen mode. Only the pro driver version 22Q4 is working fine. I DDU, clean install windows 10 or 11 but none of that work.
Do you have any idea what's wrong?
I'm using the RX 6600 with ryzen 5 3500 and was using a gtx 1050 but in some games i am getting low performance and i was also using msi afterburner to overclock the gtx 1050 before and i uninstalled the nvidia application and settings in ddu but i forgotted to uninstall the nvidia physx so i uninstalled the physx manually. So is this the bad performance reason, PLZ HELP. Btw i m using ASROCK RX 6600.
Had a question in regards to memory compression, and gaming, should you leave it on true or false
I only have the regular antilag but it def makes a difference for me in Apex
I have 7900xtx currently not using anything (default) could you advise how could I customize it to make sure I am using and the best way? I’m focusing on achieving best quality and speed
Hi Fabio! Thank you for this great content! I'm wondering why big tech youtubers are ignoring/missing this great achievement by AMD! Not a single one is covering the AntiLag+ new feature. It seems they are more interested in DLSS 3.5 (requires path tracing to work) at very low fps in older nvidia cards, and the improvements can only be seen while static or zooming...some even dare to call that a "game changing" feature!!
Anyway, i'm seeing that FSR3 will be solid with AntiLag+ plus the latency reduction in the in-game implementation. Looking foward to it!
Some did, but there are bigger things to cover now like CP2077 patch 2.0 and Ray Reconstruction from NVIDIA which is actually awesome in its essence
Thank you so much Fabio for sharing this experience. at least this one can compete now with Nvidia Reflex... or probably better...
So if I’m using the 6900xt and playing fortnite at 1080p on low settings with GPU usage being around 50% or so, should I be using anti lag? It was always my understanding to not use it unless your GPU usage was 90+%
You were right, I was cpu bound. Tested it in other areas where the gpu load was 99/100% and it works. Sorta. Like you said in the video as well, best to leave + off on starfield as it definitely does mess with the frame times and it's noticeable and janky/stuttery. Totally nullifies any gain you recieved with control response which is less than a frame.
ms is the time it takes for the input. Frames is the number of frames rendered in the time it took to register the input.
So the input was just under 30fps. And in that time you had about 1.8 frames being rendered at that 30fps.
So your normal input would be about 15fps and that is moved to 30fps with anti-lag+.
Thanks👍🏻
I'm almost positive there are some engine limitations holding back anti lag+ in Starfield...
I've been experiencing flickering issues in games with my GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS OC. I've tried updating the drivers, disabling MPO, and even capping the FPS at 60, which is below my 75Hz monitor's refresh rate. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
Hi
I have recently build a gaming PC
All is going well except the AMD Adrenalin 23.9.2 drivers software stuck while I make changes as you have suggested and I have to close it through Task Manager

Hi Fabio, I have a question and I would like to know how to enable low latency with AMD, like with nvidia. I decided on a RX7800XT and would like to play Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trillogy on it, but it has enormous problems with latency or with the image that it traces and streaks in the image that occur in the image, this makes the game unplayable, on my old Nvidia card I had only low latency set to Ultra and I could play it without any problems? I used Radeon anti lag as well as Sam as well as Boost, but the game still stutters or twitches every time the image gets fast, so it hacks tering and twitching background and I would be reluctant to give the card away, because it is already a monster and has full cyperdot style with the LEDs! I hope you can help with..my PC Ryzen 7 3700x with 32 GB Ram and RX7800XT Win 11 64 Bit Sam Enable.
Btw what apps you use to show all of graph? On top right and left?
I really want to try it on my 7600 to see the difference

I feel like witcher3 has input lag in basic game. Lets hope they will push this feature to older gpus. I cant play the game without this feature 😀 i bought my rx6800 back in march and since than i found a video about optimizing drivers and I am watching your videos since then. I must say you are going straight to the point and i like that, thank you Jesus of AMD
When the update dropped I was excited but its only for the 7000 series. Hopefully they introduce it to 6000 series too if possible.
Im trying to enable anti lag+ while on Ghostwire: Tokyo PC on Epic games Launcher (NOT Steam) and I hear a clicking sound when pressing Alt+Shift+L to view latency monitor but I dont see the latency numbers anywhere. Any ideas'?
Updated my drivers to 23.9.2 + Chipset 5.08.02.027 (DDU-clean install) and have major problems with freezing screen.
Audio still runs, it's only the mouse/screen that freezes and I only experience it where video content is being displayed!
So far I have it on Steam and in Chrome-TH-cam.
On YT it always happens immediately after switching to fullscreen and when returning back to normal view.
Freezes for like 5s and then continues as normal.
Games seems to run fine.

Those need to aupport anti lag+

Hi Fabio, can you PLS share on a video the best setup for MSFS2020 from a Radeon RX 7900XTX? I trust your
As someone who is pretty much never GUP capped (7900XTX w/ 7800x3d, ) and use radeon chill to set fps at 161 on a 165hz 14400p monitor. Is this useful for me? The annoying thing is that antilag doesn't work with chill,.... I have a hard time understanding all these settings :)
Thanks for the video, though, i still have a question, what happen if you test it with fsr 3?
fsr3 wasn't available yet. Well, I would use Anti Lag only. Anti lag+ still causes some issues with FSR3 Frame Gen
Another great way to reduce latency is tuning your secondary timings on your ram. Imagine using the new features plus a heavily tuned system!
Subtimings you mean
No way! Today i bough my 7900xt after a few years with my 3080! Great news
For quick reference. FROM AMD: "Want to Monitor Your Latency?
The latest update to AMD Software includes a new latency monitor for games that are running Anti-Lag+. Similar to how an FPS counter will display on-screen, the AMD Anti-Lag+ Latency Monitor will show the latency (in ms) when enabled.
Step 1 Make sure that AMD Radeon Anti-Lag+ is enabled on the supported game
Step 2 Use the hotkey Alt+Shift+L to enable the latency monitor
Step 3 Compare the ON/OFF difference of Anti-Lag+ by holding the Del key"
On immortals of aveum dumb question did you have the in game Nvidia anti lag enabled?
of course not
Anti-Lag(+) would also be very interesting for simracing and simracing in combination with VR (also VR in general). Has anyone experience with this?
Had not the time yet to play around with the 23.9.x drivers in Assetto Corsa Competizione.
I haven't noticed it working on Starfield as of yet. I haven't played with it on for a significant length of time. Maybe I'll notice it during a long session. I only tested it in Akila City, that place hates my system for some reason. I'll give it a try in other games now as well. Been skeptical of stuff like that for a while.
Hey man, I know this will be a weird question but what DP cable are you using with your RX7000? I'm trying to eliminate all possible issues before I RMA the card and I'm not sure if there is a point of getting DP 2.0 cable when my monitor is only DP 1.4 but someone did recommend me doing that 😅

so basically anti+ completely disables the GPU render queue...which would explain that the frametimegraph is not as smooth. So what does anti (without plus) do?

Even if I use that Driver Modded the AntiLag+ dont work for RX6XXX series?
nope
Really cool
Use the ALT+SHIFT+F hotkey to monitor FPS when Anti-Lag or Anti-Lag+ is enabled in the game.
Yes I know. I had afterburner there though
i have 5700xt and after update my amd radeon does not open. I click radeon and nothing is opening. I've tried every solution you can imagine; like download older drivers, i entirely deleted drivers with ddu, deleted some regedit hkey things, i deleted CN folder... nothing work I'm almost crazy 😈
I think the frames are the nr of frames it renders before your input is displayed. Haven't done the math to double check, but it would make sense. Low nr of frames = low ms latency

Hey Fabio, I commented yesterday about my CPU not "working", having low usage on my 5800x3d with it only using 3% and never getting over 3 ghz. Well I installed these 23.9.2 drivers and now my CPU "works". I've installed every new driver that's come out after cleaning with DDU since I've had this system (december 2022) and always had that low usage untl now with these drivers all of a sudden. I don't understand why these drivers are working and not any of the others over the past year???
Hum, it might actually have something to do with windows, BUT, if your FPS are the same, then the software was just showing a bad reading like I told you
does anti lag + helps when the game suffer from cpu bottleneck ? or it only works well when we have GPU bottleneck scenario ?
No, what helps there is using chill and locking the fps
Does this shortcut work for all games too? To check the ms response
Only the anti-Lag+ supported games
