Very cool video, but this stuff sounds kind of crazy. Basically, you need to break out the laptop anytime you want to play pinball (because the processor in the ALU 1.0 isn't powerful enough to run virtual pinball on its own). I mean, it's cool and all, but kind of hokey (not your fault). I'm wondering if there is a way to install a mini PC in the cabinet and internally tap off of the USB and HDMI ports, instead of having this hardware hanging off the box. Same thing goes with the other "external" mods (Raspberry Pi, USB hubs, etc).

If I had the money for it, sure. It's hella expensive for me. But when I can make my own virtual pinball in the original form factor , I would probably think about adding it.
Have you ever had issues with the ALU control deck got fast blinking blue light then after boot solid an non of the controller's sticks or button s working.

I would like to play pinball games on my ALU now. I understood that I have to install Pixelcade DMD first and connect the BitPixel LED marquee with my notebook. The problem is that my BitPixel LED marquee is already connected to the ALU. So what do I need to do? Do I need a USB switch or somerhing like that? Many thanks again for your support!
Great video! Inspired me to preorder a Bitpixel. My Sams Club model ALU will be arriving next monday. Plan to put a PC inside of it. I hear getting the preinstalled Pinball buttons to work with OTG is kind of a pain. Any suggestions? Should I "Jump" them to the P1 controls as you did with these? Hope you're well! I'll be spending my next few days watching more ALU vids from ya!
When you buy pixelcade from pixelcade.org, download the pixelcade setup file from their website, that updated setup program has legends ultimate art it's the first one on the list in Marquee folder, browse artwork. Just display and click save.
Hey man, I just got one of those but am having a really hard time. I’m trying to link up the marquees. I type pixelcade>f: as instructed but keep getting denied access in the command prompt. I know it doesn’t have to do anything with this the pinball, but I figured you have those installed as well
hey man how does this thing play the actual graphics is it I guess information contained within the ROM or the game itself so that being said I guess what I'm trying to say is does it play each Marquee for each game on its own or do you have to program it
atgames arcade can play mame games directly from USB drive but not PC games, only through HDMI and USB for controls. F14 has not released yet but I hope for that DLC will come out for those classics. I like classic pinball not new CG pinball.

Thank goodness the 1.1 comes with slots for the pinball clickers, I'm not handy enough to do this.

Yeah, just hold p1 button till Bluetooth mode turns off.

You save save yourself time and frustration of soldering by using piggyback terminals. No cutting or splicing of the original wires
