Once again, someone blaming Samsung for lack of compatibility with Apple, when it's Apple's fault...They really have their cult wrapped around their finger, don't they?
yeah keeping support for apple would only make them look bad as they would have to nerf their product so bad. i had a GW3 working with an iphone (my Note 10 broke so I had to use a borrowed iphone) and it was trash, I still have it but now with an s22 and it is awesome.

@@-joo3033 oh yeah I know it's nothing new but since the watch five I think when it came out it's been amazing for me. I used to scratch the crap out of the old glass ones.
I feel like this video just isn't well researched in general. Samsung doesn't lock their watches from Apple users - WearOS itself does. You can put unwanted apps into a folder. Not much research or testing into the accuracy of the sensors or how it stacks up with other watches.
I don't think he did much research at all. He blames Samsung for it not working on IOS and it's Apple that won't let WearOS apps work on IOS right. As for sensor accuracy he didn't even touch upon that seems suspicious to me.
I think y’all are missing the point of shortcircuit videos, I don’t necessarily expect them to be highly researched and reviewed. They are more of a basic overview and initial first impressions of a product, which to me is a very important category of review because that’s about how deep the general public is going to care about a given product. If you want the super deep metrics when it comes to the health sensors, “The Quantified Scientist” channel here on TH-cam has you completely covered and goes in to great detail with every single product review.
@@1300BlueStar WearOS is basically android (it's built on top of it ... first version already started with android 4), android apps don't work on iOS, different platform, different bytecode. But WearOS itself is primarilly google thing, if they don't want to communicate with apple ... well no idea why. I used in Polar M600, they run WearOS version 4.0 (it's based on Android 8), application to this watch you could install with Wear OS Application, and to sync data you use Polar Flow ... WearOS app is available on both platforms (android and ios), Polar Flow likewise. My polar watches did work with both, my motorola android phone, and iPhone SE (which i'm still using, just replaced polar watches 2 yeas ago with apple watches). But Samsung in general makes weird decisions, for example when they switched from Tizen to WearOS ... they effectively dumped tizen support (new watch app in phone - and i'm talking about samsung phone - didn't support tizen watches ... likewise on some older samsung phones, you were not able connect new wearos watches, because you could not update app to latest). Old app Gear S, that was on iOS and Android likewise, that supports tizen watches (from first version until Galaxy Watch 3, which is last tizen one) works on both platforms, new one ... (eg. since galaxy watch 4), you can guess. it's obviously Samsung, who is at fault here. not apple, not google.
@williamclark5647 yes! The quantified scientist is INCREDIBLE, absolutely love his vids. However, being a first look doesn't mean that they get to make inaccurate comments. Besides, it doesn't even say it's a "first look" in the title. LTT is a massive content creator company, they can and should do better.
I find myself buying the new version every time it comes out simply because the trade-in they give on the previous version is usually pretty ridiculous. With the other discounts I get and trading in my watch six I was able to get the watch 7 for $37 shipped. Not going to say no to that.
@@LordMustangGT93 Well for me it's worth it because I get a new watch for the cost of a halfway decent dinner and next time I'll have the most recent version to trade in again :-)
@@-joo3033 oh yeah that would be not great. I got 200 trade-in for my regular old 40 mm watch 6. Combining that with the pre-order discount and a small first responder discount and it was pretty cheap.
In the current year, smart watches are not a stand alone item, they're a phone accessory. Which is not unreasonable since they don't have the resources to do everything they need to do without help from the phone. So not unreasonable they are closely tied.
To be honest the inabillity to pair galaxy watch to IOS isn't samsung fault. Watch is based on wearOS which is tied to android very deeply, so you cannot pair any watch with wearOS to IOS
It seems like the losing iOS support was an apple thing not a samsung thing, they quit supporting it when they migrated to wearOS and having used wearOS watches with iOS it's a super broken experience because iOS wouldn't let wearOS stay running in the background
Can't blame WearOS issues with iPhone on Samsung, it's an Apple problem. I don't think it'd be enough to make me hand in my Watch 4 Classic. I still enjoy the twiddly bezel and some of the new features don't give me enough reason to upgrade yet. I prefer a physical bezel to a touch bezel. Especially when it gets wet
Yes you can blame them as they were deeply involved with the development of WearOS 3. Also the fact that features like ECG only work with Samsung phones shows us that this is most likely their choice to force people into buying Samsung products.
99 out of 100 Apple reviews: A minor thumbs down you can't use it on an iPhone. 99 out of 100 Samsung reviews: I will not buy this or recommend it because it doesn't work with iPhones. What a terrible anti-consumer move. Samsung is ship! Meanwhile at Apple: See, it was a great decision to not allow any WearOS device to work with iPhones!
I mean there are many many things wrong with this watch other than that I was considering buying one to pair to my s24 ultra but all Samsung watches, even the new Watch ultra have an unacceptable amount of input lag The input lag is absolutely atrocious for a 2024 produce At the moment I wear a 1st gen Apple Watch Ultra from all the way back in 2022 and it’s got no input lag at all Yea I have both an iPhone and a Samsung Yes my main sim is in the iPhone because Samsung’s phone animations are so off putting I’d rather get punched in the gut once a day than use my s24 ultra as my main phone

Long time LTT viewer, pretty poor video all around. 44mm still uses 20mm bands. Apple prevents the watch from having any decent functionality with iPhone, so to prevent a bad experience, they advertise it to not be compatible. Imagine you buy a $400 watch and it can only pop up notifications. As a watch4 user, you can add app shortcuts to the home screen. It's literally called app shortcut, and of course it has that feature since they both it and the pixel watch run WearOS, made by GOOGLE. Slander of the body composition features, but I have to say I have only had accurate positive experiences with mine after nearly four years of use. Why compare to a FITBIT when its competing with an Apple Watch (which are more expensive btw). I have sent texts from the middle of a pool and control my smart lights from my watch, can a fitbit do that? No. So why compare the two, they aren't equal products. Its like comparing a chromebook with a gaming laptop. Different use cases. Feels like too much personal opinion in this video. Disappointing.
We need more hybrid analog watches imo.. Withings Scanwatch does heartrate, steps, sleep, spO2 as well as general notifications/alarms and such while getting a whole ass month of battery. In fact if you let it run down low enough it shuts off the health tracking and can extend the remaining teeny bit of battery life for several more months so you always have the time available
Personally looking for digital one, but still smartwatch. I like the convenience of using the watch, but touchscreen part is probably what drains the battery like a blackhole, usual digital also works, if it wasn't so cancerous to operate. Then again I haven't touched a lot of watches, the one I've had though.... oh god, why is it so difficult. Simple rotation switch would solve most of the problems. Samsung Rotating Bezel and digital watch would be GOLDEN.
Every smartwatch needs a raised bezel. It has saved my watch SOOOO many times. I still rock an original Samsung Galaxy Watch and the screen still looks like new, and it's like 6 years old!
I used the Samsung s3 fronhier for 5-6 years, now I upgraded. I thought I would be pretty scared to brake the screen, but I don't anymore it's fine really, but the housing stretches very easily compared to my old one
I use watch 5 pro. I went with that cause of titanium build and bezel. Work as a handy man and that bezel has saved my screen multiple times, should see the dents in my bezel 😂
Now that they have sapphire screen, probably irrelevant. I bashed the hell out of a Rolex for 10 years with no sign at all of wear. This sapphire is probably not quite as good, but should be good enough.
I suspect it doesn't work with apple more due to Apple than to Samsung. It's not like Apple watches work on android. I bet Apple doesn't allow Samsung health or Samsung watch appon its store, not to mention the watch uses Google wearOS. So apple would need to support Google app store to work properly
Do note the ECG and blood pressure features don't work on non Samsung phones. In addition they have changed their heart rate graphs to be useless. Now instead of points they show massive bars with min and max per hour, no precise data available.
The HR graph in samsung health connect is shit. But you can get a full normal graph by syncing to google fit and looking at it there. Or to another health app that can be linked
just bought the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm for £220, its great. did buy a fabric strap that attaches with Velcro for £9.99 that makes it fit better. Love it.
Just to note. I thought it was hilarious that the video sarted with OP setting the bar really, really, low for a minimalist watch. Then setting a unreachable and glowing expectation for the Waych 7 as if its a flagship. I thought it was hilarious and absurd because he also laid out his bias.
I can somehow understand why samsung refuses to open its watch for iphone users, since apple won’t give other manufacturers the same level of APIs and access to iOS devices, any other watch besides apple’s would seem pale and inferior compare to apple watches. Samsung just doesn’t like its watches to be compared to apple’s when they are artificially limited by them.
Way back Samsung did. But I if I remember correctly, they discontinued apple support because of the lack of customers. They stopped after the Gear 3 I think
The problem is, that it now doesn't work at all, even if its subpar. So when somebody temporarily only has the samsung watch, it still doesn't work at all, which is dumb.
@@ben079329 The 4 is also when they switched to wearOS from Tizen and wearOS while technically working iphones, at least as of around the iphone 12 was broken beyond being usable so I could see not wanting to bother, apple seems to not let the wearOS app run in the background causing the watch to become unpaired if you accidentally close out of the app
You know it's Apple that has locked away the APIs that the more capable watches need to use, right? It is to make sure that iPhone users only buy Apple watches.
Between the bonus trade-in and a discount I was able to get it for like 55 bucks coming from a galaxy watch 4, I really miss the physical bezel though.
How 55 ? They buy the watch 4 44mm for 29+50 preorder bonus ( I live in Europe so we pay 350 for 44mm watch7 I got it for 200 coming from 4 44mm which also was pre ordered
@@Kelashnikov800 The 44 mm model is 329, the Galaxy watch 4 trade-in was $200 off, $50 reserve email thing, small employee discount cuz my firm has some agreement with Samsung, I'm in the US though
Still rocking a 4 Classic, don't really see much need to upgrade until the battery starts dying, but it still gives me 1-1.5 days. It gives notifications, makes calls, uses Assistant, tracks workouts, tells my heart rate, etc. just fine. And it has the rotating bezel!
Mine is arriving today, but I nabbed the 44mm version because the larger screen is easier to read. What was that watch face you were using? It seems nice, large, and clearly illustrates the sensor readouts. I've had a Gear S3 Frontier (with spinny ring) for years, so this is my first modern upgrade in a while. I'm about to have some weight-loss surgery soon and need to start tracking info for heart and health. If the Watch7 is half as reliable as my G3F, it's going to be a hell of a watch and well worth the expense for me. I never had a protector on my screen before, and it never scratched, so I'm also super stoked about the Sapphire-Crystal display and the brighter OLED display.
Its a shame the software support for Tizen is ending, as my OG Galaxy Watch still looks near brand new, still lasts 3-4days (2 with heavy use) and still looks great too. I keep looking to upgrade but for someone who uses it to track steps, change songs on Spotify and check the weather; what's the point?
Watch 7 might be neat, but the 6Classic is just too good. Especially with that rotating bezel. I wear mine all the time, and it isn't babied. Absolute tank. Maybe if they release a 7Classic or an 8Classic, I'll consider upgrading my watch
Ive had the Watch 5 Pro since it came out. Thanks to the Titanium build and the Sapphire glass, it looks as good as new even though I have hit it a few times.
I would prefer the physical bezel, I'm still using the original 1st gen Galaxy Watch simply because of the rotating bezel. Helps when I want to quickly read messages when I'm on my motorcycle at a red light. I wear gloves so the bezel helps with opening and navigating
I considered getting a Samsung smartwatch but I was not in the mood to use a modified app to get more of the feature set. I went with the Pixel Watch 2 LTE. Still deciding on cell service or not.
He doesn't say he is happy with apple either. What Samsung is doing, they're isolating them from other smartphones (eg Pixel, iPhone) and apple has started this "trend"
I like the rotating bezel, or a like a crown that rotates. That way if I am doing something like, listening to music, I can change the volume level within the app, instead of going out of the app because a song is too loud all of a sudden.
I still think that even with the touch ring is still not the same as my first gen watch, as i abuse the hell out of that thing, and the ring keeps the screen from ground damaged. It's also means i can still use my watch even if my hands are full or I'm wearing gloves
Been using a Samsung Active watch for years now. My second one. And both times it felt like it was great out of the box, but a lack of software support lost integration over time. Now it's hit-or-miss if I'm notified about messages.
I got a Galaxy Watch 5 from a friend a while back when they upgraded to 6. With a trade-in, this watch would only cost $75. So honestly it's really tempting.
Samsung was offering a pretty good deal on the pre-order for this watch a week or two ago and they also had decent trade-in values for precious gen watches that could help knock down the price even further if those offers are still available.
I traded my Watch 4 LTE in for the 7 LTE. The battery was starting to drain faster. The 7 is great. I got another 40mm, but I love that the screen is slightly bigger and easier to read. I have a 7 in wrist, and it seems to lay flatter on my wrist. With my 4, I would notice the sensor flashing because it was gapping, only see it with the 7 when I flex my wrist. The body temperature sensor and sleep apena sensors are new from my 4. So far, I think it was well worth the upgrade.
If I had the disposable income I would get it because I value quality and longevity, which Samsung has shown since my active 2 is still going strong after all these years.
I like the samsung watch for the phone integration, notifications, spotify, health features, golf gps distances, sleep tracking and alarms. I don't know if the other cheaper devices offer these features.
If you have an Android phone and want a smartwatch the Galaxy Watch 7 is an absolute NO-BRAINER with the crazy trade-in deals Samsung has going! 🤷 (For the rest of today at least.) The new Exynos W1000 SOC is the single biggest gen-on-gen performance gain in smartwatch HISTORY!!! It's literally >≈+3.5x faster than the preceding W930 from the GW6 and almost +4x faster than the lower clocked W920 in the GW4/5!
I got my cmf watch for like $35 so I'll stick with that. The screen is actually really nice and it displays a lot of the email when I get a notification which is very helpful. And since it's kinda small, because of how much it displays, it's actually fairly private. Battery lasts for like 3-4 days with always on time and raise to wake. If I turn on raise to wake it lasts FOREVER. Give me back my pebble time. Best watch ever.
I think if you just want a watch that tracks your heartbeat and your activities. Than you should go with a garmin watch. These watches have outstanding battery life, up to 12 days and if you go higher in price even more battery life. It is just so much more valeu if you don't care about the apps but just want a watch that tracks your health. The vivoactive 5 is a great watch and I daily drive it and it is great.
I upgraded my Watch4 to the Watch7 at the same time I bought my Z Flip 6. I stacked so many discounts on my order that it only cost me 122 GBP (~158 USD). I would have never paid full price for it, but I am enjoying the upgraded charging and battery life.
Around here, they throw watches at you for around half price when you buy an new S/fold/flip phone, and it seems like that is a norm in different shops. And since for full optimisation it is so dependant on the eco-system, then I cannot see a point in getting this (or their ear buds for that matter), unless it is because you are basically doing a "Samsung build". I got S24+, watch6, ear buds2... I am super happy, even if with discounts the buds and watch are expensive, then the connectivity between them is just making my life easier. And really... They should start designing it as bundles. Watch, phone, ear buds, headset, tablet, and (non-gaming) laptop, where they have special management apps, so it is even easier to switch between where what connects to and how. As well as a system for how the chargers all can support each other (my watch should be able to charge on the wireless phone charger). And you could then set rules for how these cooperate. It is a bit weird IMO that we do not see completely packages of all this. If people are buying a S-level phone every 1, 2 or 3 years, then they might actually want the full package, and with the reimbursement for old devices and combo deals, then just make one large 2-3k dollar box of everything. Because there are a lot of users, who just want that, and use their devices enough to it being value for money. (People complain about spending 200 dollars per month on all expenses, including paying off their phone, while they might spend several times that on a car, which many use a lot less) These brand-watches, should imo actually focus more on being a closed eco-system than opening up. I cannot possibly imagine anyone wanting this product without an applicable expensive Samsung phone. And you can get an Fitbit if you have an A-series phone. We have whined about Apple for a long time, but it works for what it is. The only real problem with Apple (besides having to be rich) is their OSs do not integrate with Windows, which is annoying for gamers, and for professionals depending on Windows-only specialised programmes. Samsung was always the Android version of Apple... And I do not actually think it benefits the market to change that. Instead they should leave the gap in the market open to others, as long as you can still use your peripherals with a Samsung phone, and they keep the A-series going.
I own the Galaxy watch 4; not much differences between this and the watch 7 besides a physical dial ring around the screen that you can turn clockwise counterclockwise to navigate between screens. And then in terms of battery life, about a day 1/2 if you keep the brightness low but bright enough to see it outside and without using apps like spotify to play music thru the watch (which you can do).
With a couple of coupons on Amazon I was able to buy it for around 180$ (The 44mm version), at this price I think it is a steal and I'm loving it so far.
Just received the 44mm GW7, haven't opened it yet. Between being a preorder and a trade-in for a GW5, it cost me $79.99 before tax. In the watch face section that Pixel watch looked beat to crap. Another reason I wouldn't touch one until they get rid of the curved glass.
There are a few apps available on the App Store, such as Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Watch, but they offer no compatibility with the most recesnt models. The Galaxy Watch app offers support up to the Watch 3, Galaxy Buds only works with the Buds Live and the Buds+, and Galaxy Fit with several models, the latest being the Fit 2.
To be honest, for the kind of things you mention in the video, I think pretty much *any* smartwatch would be overkill. If all you're doing is tracking your heartbeat and some workouts, you're better off with a fitness tracker like the Xiaomi Band 9. You really don't have to spend $200 to get that kind of functionality.
I've looked i to the body compositionthing because it'd be useful in my trainig journey. It is measuring the body as a capacitor parallel to a resistor. This is fairly accurate IF you can controll other variabels, namely water intake. Which is kinda not doable for a normal person. You might be able to equalize a bit over sleep, but it will show different results depending on if you drank half a gallon or 2 gallons the day before.
I've had mine for 4 days. It's nott a lot different from the watch 4. Battery life barely lasts a day. Charging takes almost 2 hours. I've already had to deal with samsung support because it wasn't syncing correctly. Had to do a facory reset. Not sure it was worth the upgrade.
Found a watch 4 classic bt for 49 at my local Walmart. Samsung had a sale on the 7 lte 44mmand then gave me a 170$ credit torward the 7 so I bit the bullet as I dont want to carry my phone while out paddle boarding and running and such. The 5 core CPU vs previous models dual core really sold me on it. Hope I don't regret my decision.
It should be noted the 44mm has a larger battery than the 40mm shown. If battery was part of the concern, it's actually not much more $$, but still more money you're throwing down. Definitely pricey but I'm getting one soon myself. I do like the look, and expect it to last. I do also really like the charger and vast amount of sensors, as someone trying to work up from bad health to better habits. However for the price... like said, it definitely won't be for everyone.
I had watches 4, 5 and now rocking with 6. Preordered 7 and this seems the most meaningful upgrade - better chipset and way more accurate sensors. All 44 mm with LTE.
I regret the Samsung 6 Classic purchase so much. In standalone mode, with active ESim to listen to Spotify and my smartphone at home, it's 90min battery life on my wrist. Useless crappy product
I still love my Galaxy Watch 4. Got it 2 years ago for $150. It does everything I need it to, only thing I might consider is switching to LTE instead of Bluetooth. I would consider the 7 in a couple of years if there's a drastic price drop.
Got 6 classic, I could justify it because it is a fitness tracker, but it also looks like a normal watch. Without the rotating bezel, no way I am going to buy one. The 7 ultra is fugly.
I think, you should review the Garmin Venu 3. I've had the Venu for >2 Years now, and it's the best smartwatch I've ever owned (even though most people think it's just a fitness tracker) Amazing battery life, great tracking (it's a Garmin afterall) and most, if not all, the "smart" functionality the majority of people actually want and need.
I love how ZERO effort went into this video when comparing the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. It's like this person doesn't know Samsung kept the Galaxy Watch 7 for the average folks and released the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 😂
I have a Lung Disease and I only bought it for these health functions as I need the SpO2 constantly so, I know when I need to use my oxygen. I'm also in the Samsung Ecosphere so it's essential
The stiffest competition comes from samsung's own product line and that's the fit 3 for $50. I've got one and it does everything I need, lasts like 3 days with continuous monitoring enabled.
Already rocking the Galaxy S4, it's great. I started with the original Galaxy gear with the camera, still have it though the wrist strap disintegrated. Then I got the S3 Frontier it was pretty good, the bezel quit working and I replaced the battery. S7 Ultra is going to be my next watch. I'm waiting for it to come up on Amazon refurbished like my S4 did for $100. need the ring too.
i'm still rocking my Watch 4 and it is a banger! Great quality and still has not much change on this 7th generation to make me wanna change. The ONLY things may be the new glass (my 4th gen is great till this day without any protections) and battery life. For me, battery life is not so much of a bummer, as I like to keep my watch at my dock stand with the original charger on it. Battery life of mine is still great!
Physical bezel as standard hasn't been on the Galaxy watch since the 3rd iteration back in 2020. Samsung merged their watch versions (regular with the "Active" model) for the 4th version, which is when the standard was touch control with no bezel. Stating that as a knock against this watch doesn't make much sense. Samsung also has never locked features to Apple users, WearOS does, which is an Android product. In this video, there's also NO mention of the Galaxy ring and how it interacts with the watch whatsoever, which seems...like some shoddy research at best. This video presented itself as someone being told they have to give a presentation in their high school English class and winging it when they didn't even read the book. Do better. Also, a DEXA scan is primarily used for BONE composition, like for those with osteoporosis. While it's implied that it can be used for body composition, it isn't truly used for that.
I agrre. Samsung missed and opportunity to allow the Apple community on board and lead the way. Closed off ecosystems are stupid. Also I have seen people selling new galaxy watch 7's for £200 on Facebook marketplace which seems like a good price.
I think existing Galaxy Watch users have a reason to consider upgrading. The Exynos W1000 in the Watch 7 is more than 3 times faster than the W930 in the Watch 6, and the stuttering problem with the existing Galaxy Watch has been greatly improved.
With the $50 preorder discount and $200 trade in for my Watch4 Classic, I'm gonna give this bezel-less watch a shot. After taxes, I only paid $158 for the 44mm. I'm banking on another $200 trade in next year and I can get my bezel back with a Watch8 Classic (they seem to only do the classic every 2 years). For me, I had a real hard time getting through a full day on the Watch4 Classic so I am hoping the bigger battery in the 7 will help, plus the processor is much improved as well so it should be snappier than what I am used to.
I had bought the Samsung gear S3 frontier back in the day, I still use it daily. If it crapped out I would probably still go with a Samsung watch based on the longevity of my current wearable.
One of the biggest downgrades for me is the fact that even though the batter life on Watch 7 is still really bad you can no longer use power share or any other charger/powerbank because the sensors stick out too much. It was a great feature that even my S3 Frontier had, always saved the day when I forgot to charge it up and helped get through the day, now I need to buy another charger and keep it at work or carry the adapter around with me.
I bought it and love it! Okay, it's not for everyone, and I get that. It is a huge upgrade from Watch 4, and the accuracy, speed, and mostly display are nice, too.
Well when you trade in a Watch 4 that you bought off ebay for $60 and they give you a $200 trade in allowance and take an additional student discount off of that and you get the 44mm or $100 you don't pass up on that.
This is the first watch generation since I got the Ticwatch on Kickstarter that I haven't been enticed to update my watch. I have a 6 classic, and want the bezel, but would never buy the ultra!
I have no idea why e´people are so obsessed with the physical bezel. I have no issues at all with the digital bezel on my Watch Ultra, works just fine.
@@xPandamonfor the same reason I want physical buttons in my car dammit, tactile feedback. Also a bezel protects the screen..... And I get to feel like James Bond.
For those bashing the fact that this watch doesn't work with iOS, keep in mind that Apple restricts third party manufacturers from using certain APIs, like the ones for mirroring notifications. This will significantly cripple any smartwatch, other than Apple's own smartwatches. Sure, Samsung could have done a very basic integration with iOS, but then people would have compared it to the Apple Watch, and deemed it inferior. So instead, they just ditched iOS completely. I hope Apple wakes up (or is forced to by the European Union), and becomes less of a monopoly, by giving access to some of its restricted APIs. Then we'll have a proper integration between Google's wear OS, and iOS.
What you do is spend the $300 on the watch and then just trade in and upgrade for much less of the cost through Samsung a few generations later. Now I only ever have to pay under $60 every three or four generations for the newest one with their trade in values.
Once again, someone blaming Samsung for lack of compatibility with Apple, when it's Apple's fault...They really have their cult wrapped around their finger, don't they?
Pretty sure it's apple who doesn't allow support. I think they killed it back in the day
They made the necessary APIs inaccessible to 3rd parties.
They could probably support some features, but too many would be broken to make it worth it.
yeah keeping support for apple would only make them look bad as they would have to nerf their product so bad. i had a GW3 working with an iphone (my Note 10 broke so I had to use a borrowed iphone) and it was trash, I still have it but now with an s22 and it is awesome.
But any old Pebble will still work though. My friend has one an that one still gets notifications and such.

I'd say no, cuz there's just no reason.
Seriously, wow! I have a Watch 6 classic, what do I do? I know I can Google it but you're right here 😆

Wear os compatibility is severely limited by apple. Can't blame this one on samsung, since pixel watch doesn't support IOS either.
What you are saying is, we should have a monopoly by 1 company so all of our devices are compatible. right?
@@moonkey537 No? Compatibility should be wide spread my guy.

To be honest the inabillity to pair galaxy watch to IOS isn't samsung fault. Watch is based on wearOS which is tied to android very deeply, so you cannot pair any watch with wearOS to IOS
there is wear os app by google on iOS that supports many watches, I think Samsung chose not to support iOS.

@@iidogninjxbut that's because apple sucks bro
It seems like the losing iOS support was an apple thing not a samsung thing, they quit supporting it when they migrated to wearOS and having used wearOS watches with iOS it's a super broken experience because iOS wouldn't let wearOS stay running in the background
I'm a Samsung galaxy watch 4 user, you can add app shortcuts to the home screen from any apps
They indeed did very little research, bit disappointed for a LTT video
Can't blame WearOS issues with iPhone on Samsung, it's an Apple problem. I don't think it'd be enough to make me hand in my Watch 4 Classic. I still enjoy the twiddly bezel and some of the new features don't give me enough reason to upgrade yet. I prefer a physical bezel to a touch bezel. Especially when it gets wet
Yes you can blame them as they were deeply involved with the development of WearOS 3. Also the fact that features like ECG only work with Samsung phones shows us that this is most likely their choice to force people into buying Samsung products.
I'm gonna hold on to my S3 Frontier until it completely combusts. I love the bezel so much

Agree, the bezel saved my screen from bumping into corners so many times
I gave the watch 7 back and bought a watch 6 classic. Horrible not having a bezel for sure I would have bumped it on the desk
Very easy to sideload the APK onto non-Samsung phones
And you have to be over 22 years old to use it

I have the 6 classic and I feel exactly the same. I'm going to stick with this one, even though I do like the style of the new watch bands
Buy a Tic watch and get around 4 days of battery.

Getting rid of the physical rotating wheel is a huge bummer. It’s what made the Galaxy Watch unique.
@2:14 its 20mm for both sizes, 22mm have not been in use for a long time with samsung watches.
I considered getting a Samsung smartwatch but I was not in the mood to use a modified app to get more of the feature set. I went with the Pixel Watch 2 LTE. Still deciding on cell service or not.
Oh wow. An apple fan boy is unhappy with Samsung. I'm shocked.
$300 is a bad price? Apple Watch Ultra is like $800 lol. More like a $1000 outside the US, actually.
I still think that even with the touch ring is still not the same as my first gen watch, as i abuse the hell out of that thing, and the ring keeps the screen from ground damaged. It's also means i can still use my watch even if my hands are full or I'm wearing gloves
Got it for $150 after trading my 5 year old Active 2. I think that's fair for an upgrade
Been using a Samsung Active watch for years now. My second one. And both times it felt like it was great out of the box, but a lack of software support lost integration over time. Now it's hit-or-miss if I'm notified about messages.
You have to enable it
It's enabled. Still get about half my message notifications.
btw, the watch 6 still exists
I got a Galaxy Watch 5 from a friend a while back when they upgraded to 6. With a trade-in, this watch would only cost $75. So honestly it's really tempting.
2:25 thought you couldnt use older bands and only the new ones or is that for the watch ultra

🤷 (For the rest of today at least.)
The new Exynos W1000 SOC is the single biggest gen-on-gen performance gain in smartwatch HISTORY!!!

8:37 it's most likely because Apple refuses to allow the Galaxy Wearable app in Apple app store
(People complain about spending 200 dollars per month on all expenses, including paying off their phone, while they might spend several times that on a car, which many use a lot less)
These brand-watches, should imo actually focus more on being a closed eco-system than opening up.

Can someone give me information on if Samsung's not making an app for Apple or if apple is not allowing Samsung to have their APP on apple Store
The app needs alot of special permissions to work properly. So Apple would need to add it like a system app which obviously they will never do
its an apple allowing it issue, same reason they work fine with any other android device
Although the Samsung watch might feel and look more premium, the price tag is a bit steep for what you get utility-wise.

And who started it? Apple. So nlame them. Blaming samsung here is more stupid and this reviewer is not smart
@clickbaitpro Does it matter who started it or who can be better?
Im still using the gear s3! Somehow that thing has survived everything
This is the first watch generation since I got the Ticwatch on Kickstarter that I haven't been enticed to update my watch. I have a 6 classic, and want the bezel, but would never buy the ultra!
Iv the 6 classic to and love it!the bezel is great and wouldn't get one without if it's available
I have no idea why e´people are so obsessed with the physical bezel. I have no issues at all with the digital bezel on my Watch Ultra, works just fine.
@@xPandamon well I use it all the time and iv used it on my normal watches so I guess it's because I have a use for it!
