Go for a Garmin, then. You don't have to sacrifice any features and the battery can last a couple of weeks. Will have to cough up an extra hundred bucks, but well worth it if you ask me.

@@e3vL1the crown adds so much to the user experience. Being able to scroll without touching the screen with your sweaty/dirty fingers is a huge plus. That’s also the reason why many people were outraged when Samsung removed the moveable bezel to scroll like they had on the watch 6 classic.
@@e3vL1 trust me the crown is perfeclty useable. i also have pretty big hands and fingers, and even with the pixel watch 2 with 41mm i had zero issues. Now that the 3 is available in 45mm it will be amazing. Most importantly the pixe watch 2 was basically the most accurate heart and sleep rate tracking watch on android, so im really looking forward to the watch 3.
I was waiting for smart alarm, the one that wakes you up when you are in the correct sleeping cycle. Another thing i think they missed here is the battery improvement. More with the bigger sized one. I own the Watch2, and i am not considering updating it, i consider the changes are so basic.

I had a SleepTracker Pro back in ~2009 and that "wakes you up when you are in the correct sleeping cycle" was life changing. I cannot believe this is not standard. Even with the imperfect tech back than and the gigantic size of the device, it was AMAZING! So much more useful than my apple watch.
Looks great but 24hr battery means either it's not tracking my activity during the day as I have it in the charger or it's not tracking my sleep at all. If I take it off, I'm likely to forget to put it back on. I'm a pixel phone user and would love it. I do sit at a computer for my work day so there is still the chance of viability. The problem is taking it off and forgetting
you are literally talking out of ur behind with no experience, watch 2 easily lasts FULL 24HRS, and topping up a charge literally takes 20min. You sit to write some emails and watch is charged.
It takes about 15 to 22 minutes to charge from 20% to 100% while taking a shower. I have had it for a week now. I have the 45mm version, and it is nice that it weighs less than the competition for the same size atleast.

Google totally messed up the Fitbit migration to Google. I immediately lost my perfectly functional desktop app. Then Google did away with their web based app, then downgraded their mobile app. No more Pixel watch for me.

i am really thinking about changing from GW6 to PW3, but what heavily insecures me is the fact that PW3 is like 3 or 4 mm thicker. can't really imagine that PW3 looks as good on my arms as it looks on videos.

Honestly as much I'm a fan and jealous of the pixel watch designs and ui etc, i think Samsung, apple, and garmin take the cake when it comes to FREE. I think that's less about the watch and more about what phone you have. I don't think the Pixel Watch works on an IPhone or vicaversa. If you have an Android Phone you've obviously got a better choice of different watches most of which I would imagine have fall detection. I'd hope they put fall detection on the Oura Ring and Galaxy Ring in the future, longer battery life and less intrusive.
This is just my first impressions. I had some time hands-on with the device. I'll have a full in-depth analysis in a few weeks once I have some time to test the accuracy

Pixel Watch 2 switched from an aluminum case to a stainless steel case. I appears the Pixel Watch 3 is using an aluminum case again. I think this is a good choice. The stainless steel case is perceptively heavier than the first Pixel Watch, and when I put the matte black metal link watch band on my Pixel Watch 2 I was a little dismayed at the combined weight of the watch band and the watch, I even considered going back to the black active band that comes with the wetch.
Mate...this watch is completely gimped by battery life. Completely Gimped. Maybe Google could ask Ai how to get 7 day battery life as their engineers are clueless! Such as shame as everything else is 10/10
My PW1 has always lasted longer than the battery estimates. With lift to waka and AOD disabled I reliably get 1 1/2 days. I've always felt they've been conservative with their estimate. It's also hard to quantify as peoples usage varies a lot.
UWB will normal provide a wider range, so will be a wrong foundation for proximity lock/unlock. However for trying to trigger find-me alarm for the car parked somewhere bit distant with too many others in between, it can be useful.
Same. I'll wait for the Pixel Watch 4 or 5, maybe then they will have a custom Tensor chip with 7 years of updates and much improved battery. So far I'm extremely happy with my PW2.

how many steps you take in a day doesnt matter? try being a field tech, you feel it at the end of the day, especially when you are hitting the 20 to 30k mark on the daily. Most the features i prefer in a smart watch or health monitoring watch is my heart rate, my sleep report and cycle, as well as how many steps i take in a day, as well as how many calories i (supposedly) burnt off. Really matter just what you use your watch for.
I didn't know about the notification on the watch when someone picks up your phone. That's gonna be a reason to buy for me, especially with this wave of pickpocketing now
The thing that keeps me from getting any of these watches is the battery life. My Garmin epix lasts 18 days on a full charge with full functionality, most smart watches don't last 24 hours. I cant be charging my watch every single day/night.
Got the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but probably stick with the Samsung Watch Ultra - really impressed with this slick watch from Samsung. Also stick with the Samsung Health ecosystem, just makes the data tracking easier.
In the past year I have gone from Galaxy watch 5 classic do the pixel Watch 2 very briefly then to a Samsung regular Galaxy watch 5 then to an Apple Watch 9 when I briefly had an iPhone and back to a Galaxy watch 6 regular. Here are my thoughts: -watch 5 classic: great battery life when the rotating bezel. Too big and clunky. -Watch 5 &6 regular: best looking watches. Great battery. Interface on Samsung watches not as smooth as pixel or Apple watch. Apple watch 9: Smooth interface and best integration with phone (can react to iMessage by long pressing message on watch as one small example). However, their lead over android watches has basically vanished. Pixel watch 2: basically same as pixel watch 1. Too small and bezels too big. But, smoothest Wear OS watch.
Huh? Samsung has ultra band. I use a watch 4 and galaxy watch on a s20 fe and have had that feature ever since. As long as I am close to my phone it remains unlocked
Two things that kill this for me. Exercise metrics behind a pay wall. There is no reason ANY of the fitness metrics to be behind a pay wall. That and the battery life. Again, no reason these companies can't do better with their battery life. Garmin gives you a week plus in battery life, and all of the fitness metrics are free. Garmin also makes far more rugged watches. Apple, Google, OnePlus are all behind the ball with those metrics and have far larger companies and money to improve these things but it's obvious their watches are still an after thought.
I'd love to have a PIxel Watch's accuracy in the Galaxy Watch 7, but with a full Samsung ecosystem, I can't really bring myself to get a Pixel Watch. I know they're compatible, etc, but I just prefer Samsung. I think if I want accuracy, I'll go Garmin. The battery life on the Galaxy Watch 7 that I'm getting is pretty good -- pretty much 2 full days, and it charges insanely quickly just when I'm in the shower, so I never really need to take it off otherwise. This Pixel Watch seems like the battery is, once again, gonna be pretty bad...
I really hope they make a rugged version like Apple ultra and Samsung ultra. I hit my watch against stuff all the time and it comes with bigger batteries.
I use my apple watch for convenience - getting messages at a glance, notifications, calls. I was excited about fitness features till I came to conclusion that you just gotta listen to your body and you'll be better off. I've tried Pixel 1 / 2 watches and liked 1 better as it dissipated heat in sauna better and would not shut down on me - steel is better than aluminum. Pixel 2 would die within 10 minutes in Sauna (just as Apple Watch SE2). At the end I don't use any do-hickies for fitness or sleep tracking because at the end it is just useless data to me but your mileage might vary.
After just over a year of Galaxy watch 6 and 7, I've also been missing my Amazfit (had the GTR 4 and Balance). I really love their PAI system and the app, IMO, is superior to Samsung Health. They just need to develop their software a bit more and LTE versions would also be nice. With that I mean, expand their payment system on the watch, so you can add all cards, not just Curve (or somehow integrate Google Wallet, also an option), add a properly functioning assistant to the watch (I know it has Alexa, but just never was able to get it to work right), I think they now have their own AI assistant, but not sure how well that integrates with smart home devices, etc. A more functional way to store and play music from the watch would also be nice, rather than having to upload MP3's to it (i.e. maybe make some apps for the big names for music streaming). Have been very tempted by the Helios ring + Amazfit Balance offer they currently have running on Amazon, seems to me they are, so far, the only ones to understand a smart ring works best as a companion device to a smart watch, rather than a standalone device.
You can unlock your IPhone and Mac for years with your Apple Watch and also have the option to lock it back if it was a mistake. But glad google added this option as it’s quite handy.
This is exactly what the Pixel Watch 2 should've been...unfortunately Google is still behind Samsung by a significant amount. At least improve the basics like charging speeds and battery life
But the Pixel Watch 2 was the better option over everything Samsung offered at the time. More RAM and more memory than the latest and greatest Samsung had available, too.
The Fitbit subscription was the only thing that effected my choice to not buy a pixel watch. I still won't buy it now cause google is notorious for changing their mind and might bring it back. Better stick with Samsung....
I feel like this is a dumb question, but I notice that the pink watch has a pink ui and the blue one has a blue ui etc... Does the color of the watch you buy set the color of your user interface? I saw a lot of complaints about the Pixel Watch 2 where people would try and customize their ui color and then still get the default green color a lot. Or are the pictures just your typical "artistic representation" kind of advertising?

I have YT premium and want to buy the smart watch for jogging and music, for no other reason, no calls, sleep tracking etc I don't want to take my phone strapped to my arm anymore, I have a pro 7. Buds and Bluetooth and accessing my music easily. I've never owned a smartwatch... please help, thanks 🙏
I imagine it works fine for what you need it for, I have a Samsung watch 6 classic and use it as you say, leave the phone at home and connect it to TH-cam music with my ear buds

I have the 41mm and it easily gets 2 days
Just charge it when you shower either after work or in the morning. Doing this will allow it to charge enough for the day. Just a thought

Huh? Samsung has ultra band. I use a watch 4 and galaxy watch on a s20 fe and have had that feature ever since. As long as I am close to my phone it remains unlocked
Two things that kill this for me. Exercise metrics behind a pay wall. There is no reason ANY of the fitness metrics to be behind a pay wall. That and the battery life. Again, no reason these companies can't do better with their battery life. Garmin gives you a week plus in battery life, and all of the fitness metrics are free. Garmin also makes far more rugged watches. Apple, Google, OnePlus are all behind the ball with those metrics and have far larger companies and money to improve these things but it's obvious their watches are still an after thought.
I need you to compare to the Samsung Galaxy watch 6 & 7 asap! My Fitbit just bit the dust, and I can't decide which one to get!!
I'd love to have a PIxel Watch's accuracy in the Galaxy Watch 7, but with a full Samsung ecosystem, I can't really bring myself to get a Pixel Watch. I know they're compatible, etc, but I just prefer Samsung. I think if I want accuracy, I'll go Garmin. The battery life on the Galaxy Watch 7 that I'm getting is pretty good -- pretty much 2 full days, and it charges insanely quickly just when I'm in the shower, so I never really need to take it off otherwise. This Pixel Watch seems like the battery is, once again, gonna be pretty bad...

I really hope they make a rugged version like Apple ultra and Samsung ultra. I hit my watch against stuff all the time and it comes with bigger batteries.

I use my apple watch for convenience - getting messages at a glance, notifications, calls. I was excited about fitness features till I came to conclusion that you just gotta listen to your body and you'll be better off. I've tried Pixel 1 / 2 watches and liked 1 better as it dissipated heat in sauna better and would not shut down on me - steel is better than aluminum. Pixel 2 would die within 10 minutes in Sauna (just as Apple Watch SE2). At the end I don't use any do-hickies for fitness or sleep tracking because at the end it is just useless data to me but your mileage might vary.

After just over a year of Galaxy watch 6 and 7, I've also been missing my Amazfit (had the GTR 4 and Balance). I really love their PAI system and the app, IMO, is superior to Samsung Health. They just need to develop their software a bit more and LTE versions would also be nice. With that I mean, expand their payment system on the watch, so you can add all cards, not just Curve (or somehow integrate Google Wallet, also an option), add a properly functioning assistant to the watch (I know it has Alexa, but just never was able to get it to work right), I think they now have their own AI assistant, but not sure how well that integrates with smart home devices, etc. A more functional way to store and play music from the watch would also be nice, rather than having to upload MP3's to it (i.e. maybe make some apps for the big names for music streaming). Have been very tempted by the Helios ring + Amazfit Balance offer they currently have running on Amazon, seems to me they are, so far, the only ones to understand a smart ring works best as a companion device to a smart watch, rather than a standalone device.
You can unlock your IPhone and Mac for years with your Apple Watch and also have the option to lock it back if it was a mistake. But glad google added this option as it’s quite handy.
I wish they would make it easier to just shut off the Fitbit crap. Not everyone wants to track their fitness and doesn't want it eating up battery...
My partner wanted a Fitbit, but she didn't get it because of the subscription. It should not be there at all.

Samsung is garbage. A bunch of bloatware, stutters, bugs. The best android experience is easily from Google, which makes sense.

Does the color of the watch you buy set the color of your user interface? I saw a lot of complaints about the Pixel Watch 2 where people would try and customize their ui color and then still get the default green color a lot.
Or are the pictures just your typical "artistic representation" kind of advertising?

I imagine it works fine for what you need it for, I have a Samsung watch 6 classic and use it as you say, leave the phone at home and connect it to TH-cam music with my ear buds

This watch without sapphire glass is an issue, I know for my wife has one and the screen is super easy to scratch.
