      At most… Gw7 is a half-ish good watch. Not even close to an applewatch. Search for ‘the quantified science’ they use medical gear to do the review. It’s an awesome channel.

    Top tip - With the battery life, go to the health app and under steps sync, turn off frequent. The watch then goes a further day or so on battery life. It's a hidden feature and stops your watch syncing with your phone all the time draining it's battery.

    It would be great if you had some kind of table comparing GPS accuracy with older models. I mean, those overlapping graphs are great, but we have no way to know if it´s better or worse than an oldish Venu 3s, for example.
    Even if you test different watches in different places, assigning a 1-10 score once you do see those graphs at home would make the purchase way more confident, based on your expert.
    Same thing you could with heart monitor accuracyj, which is another esssential feature.
    Anyway, just a suggestion, and thanks for your great work, as always.

    • @1650million
      @1650million 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@wtfWhoIsIt If you try a watch for 3 weeks, as he said he did, you do have different weather conditions and terrains. So you get an average.
      And as I said, it would be as simple as giving them a subjective score based on his own actual measurements, and vast previous experience, so we can get a pretty "objective" score, which would help us a lot.

    My GW7 has been going great. I did notice on a run the other day that the heartrate was between 145 and 155. I know 100% that i was up over 190bpm. Not sure if the rear sensors were dirty or what. I took it off at the end, cleaned and it jumped up to 180bpm. I would like to see a training load feature like Garmin. I genuinely hope that they work on the bioactive sensor algorithms.
    They claim it's getting better or more efficient, but I see no reason to upgrade a watch galaxy 6 classic.
    That said, as a free-time developer, I wonder if they have an API to get data from the Samsung health app to build a better app than Samsung health.
    Or a more structured one.

    • @eukariootti1
      @eukariootti1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I still have Watch4 Classic. I'm surprised by how little actual real-life development 5, 6 and 7 brought. Most basic features seem to be same or very close (HR, Sleep, IP68...).
      Well, Ultra does have a good GPS and the bigger battery (of 5 Pro). 4/6 Classic have the rotating steel bezel, 5/7 don't. 5 Pro brought big battery and massive thickness.
      If my phone was compatible, I would have already bought an Apple Watch.
      Although iPhone (iOS) isn't quite as attractive. Especially in Finland (some things appear later or never).

    • @b-doi1211

      Might even be a downgrade from the classic simply because you are giving up the mechanical bezel which makes it much eazier to use.

  • @CharlieLiuPhotography

    I traded my Watch 5 Pro for the watch 7 44mm this year and didn't have to pay anything after discount codes - mostly because I feel like there's no way I'd get a $250 trade in value anywhere else on a 2 year old Android watch that I didn't even pay $250 for brand new. While I love the speed improvements on the new chip, the battery life has not been great since my Watch 5 pro could potentially last me 3-4 days whereas the Watch 7 is a watch that I have been charging pretty much daily. I wish the new "bioactive sensors" weren't such a marketing thing but year over year I feel like there isn't a lot of improvements. The AGEs thing was another thing I looked forward to since it's a new feature, but so far it seems useless too.
    Thanks for the review, it's been entertaining even though the watch itself has been rather disappointing otherwise.

    Don't take these health readings on these watches too seriously. In my opinion, they are more of a novelty item, and its just more of an entertainment app. It makes for a good conversation at a party with your friends. The Samsung Ultra 7 isn't much better. I suppose if I'd pay $1500 for one of these watches, then I'd be expecting extreme accuracy, much like you might find in a professional monitoring equipment in a hospital or your doctor's office.

    Can I do interval running sessions with it without any presets? I mean those where I can just manually separate one interval from another by pushing a button (or at least double tapping the screen as on apple watch, i hate that tapping on fast paces but at least it worked, would prefer a physical button). I just need these manual splits whenever I want them, not by preset.

    Strange. I have a Garmin 165 and a 7. I got the 7 before the official release, Amazon mistake? I also have found the GPS to be fine. Like a different reviewer, the two watches were super close. Also, the lag and gimmicky touch screen in the 165 makes the 7 the winner for me.

    Great video! The watch seven and the watch seven ultra are like night and day. I’ve had galaxy watches ever since the Microsoft band was discontinued. They were horrible and the galaxy watch seven is a step above all past watches, but I’d leave it right where it’s at. If you want a great watch made by Samsung that’s accurate not perfect but accurate galaxy watch seven ultra is the way to go.

    • @corneliusjermainehightower7539
      @corneliusjermainehightower7539 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ yes they do, but somehow the accuracy on the watch seven is off when those antennas are set they have to be in the correct location and whatever they did with the antennas in the watch seven is killing the GPS the tracks are not accurate. So it’s not the chip set. It’s the antennas that are causing the problem in the watch seven.

    As someone who is only casually into fitness and doesn't do any workouts the require GPS, I am really happy with my Galaxy Watch 7. Unlike any prior Galaxy Watch I have owned the heart rate sensor works reliably without cutting out numerous times per day and overall day to day performance is great. Like you said, it's a shame that Samsung nailed the antenna design on the Galaxy Watch Ultra but not the Galaxy Watch 7 but at least it shows that Samsung is capable of fixing the issue and knows what to do next year for those who rely on GPS on their smartwatch.

My AWS9 is quite inaccurate in little to no tree coverage areas (with canal on one side and a highway on the other) just like your examples. Here ya go, from my written in-depth review (www.dcrainmaker.com/2024/08/samsung-galaxy-reviewaccuracy.html):
      Here are the things that require a Samsung phone:
      - ECG (Electrocardiogram): This allows you to make on-demand ECGs, which Samsung has had medically certified as a Software as a Medical Device program by the FDA (and equivalent in Europe). This is only available for Samsung phones, and only within certified countries.
      - Irregular Heart Rate Rhythm Notifications: This feature runs in the background, and alerts you to irregular rhythms automatically. This too requires a Samsung phone, and also is only available in certified countries (they got FDA certification for this a few months ago).
      - Blood Pressure detection: This feature automatically determines your blood pressure level, after calibration against another known device. My testing in the past found this finicky at best, as this is not a medically certified component (whereas ECG is). While there has been much talk of Samsung getting medical certification here, this hasn’t happened yet. Again, this also requires a Samsung phone.
