Most of the times the final look is far from what I have asked for. I try to always show some pictures of the hair style I want. I once grew my hair for like 7-8 months and wanted to just slightly clean the sides... ended up with short hair. I was pissed off. I thought of goin back to salon and cut to zero barber himself 😂

Yeah man my hair is currently hitting my shoulders and it has been the toughest year. I found trimming occasionally helps out.

azimalto Same with me, I wear a hat every single day of my life. Luckily I work from home and am able to dress how I please, otherwise I don't know how I would've done it.
I`m growing hair since 2013, awkward stage was in about 6 months to 1 year. Wear a hat, beanie, use conditioner and try keep your hair moist, dry curls become frizzy and you will look like 70s dude with afro.
Could you do a video based on guys with long hair? I haven't found many videos for men with long hair. My hair is as long as Thor's hair (shoulder length) but I'm not sure how to maintain it while rocking a tidy messy style, I'm afraid to go to a hair salon because I don't know what to ask for.
KaysianReigns idk if you still go to this video but a tip is to cut it every few months so it doesn't become too frizzy
Go to salon after every 35-40 days and tell the hair dresser to trim half an inch of your hair.
Thats what I do and I have hair till my mid back

I think it would've been better to not abuse the wax at the end.
Having hair with more volume would've looked better on him, at 3:03 he looked best.
If anything, using hair straighteners would've also looked really good, since that's what I do with my hair.

Any undercut needs product, pomade to make it sleek, wax to make it a bit messy, lightweight cream to clean up straggling hair.

There's no such thing as "improved shape". When you grow your hair for 3 or 4 years it's impossible to notice a 1 inch difference. Actually it's bound to happen because the growth isn't completely uniform. The guy simply lost 5 months worth of growth here.
Also he doesn't seem to have the confidence to grow long hair. How about some update to prove me wrong?

I’m at this ‘awkward length’ stage now and some shaping will helps keep a good foundation. I used to have it long on top and short on the sides, so the sides are a few inches behind haha a nice haircut will maintain the style. I hope you get me? :)
I get you but what I meant really was: Enjoy the journey and don't listen to anyone. These kind of people who want to set you back and see you fail are the same type of people who 4 years later will tell you when your hair is waist length "how long did it take you?", "I could never grow my hair long"... The type of people who isn't willing to take a shot at it pretty much so they don't want you to try. Even family members and friends sometimes (not gonna sugarcoat it) but they are the first to back down when they realize you're in it for the long run.
My point is that the while others only see the final result, you see, live and enjoy the process.
I'm assuming you're a guy who wants long hair. From a guy who is now at 38 months of growth and been exactly where you are now: It's a great experience, you will mature a lot and find a lot about yourself. I'm not going back on short hair anytime soon. You'll eventually reach a point where you can bun it. It's pretty satisfying. Then you'll reach another point where the bun just can't stay still. From this point (18/20 months) is smooth sailing to whatever length you want to achieve really.
Rather than me describing it, discover it for yourself, I'm telling it's a wonderful experience! Good luck, and keep yourself inspired!

Excellent hair cut for longer hair. However, how long will it be since one should have it trim again without disrupting the hair growth? Cutting the hair won't let it grow as a rule of thumb. It seems a bit contradictory. Just curious as I favor longer hair for me.
Best thing to do if you want long hair is to skip trims along the way. Just let it grow to where you want it and then after that get trims as needed. Your hair will get to your goal much faster this way. No, you won't look like a fool growing it out. (We are always our worst critics.) Just consider it a work in progress and don't keep looking in the mirror. I have never heard a guy with long hair once ever say he was sorry. But I hear complaints all the time from the shorter-medium haircuts. As trims go, she did a GREAT job! :-)

I wish i could find a stylist like you guys near me, Ive had so many bad expiriences that i refuse to let anyone touch my hair and its down to my shoulders now and it definitely needs a touch up but im so terrified to go anywhere cause every time i go they mess it up. I once went and asked to get the back trimmed and thinned out so it didnt look like i had a mullet and he basicaly cut 6 inches of my hair off. i was so angry I refused to pay. and i explained more than once what i wanted. I said i wanted to continue growing it out and that i just wanted the back trimmed by maybe an inch or so and i went from almost shoulder length to it barely passing my eyebrows. sigh..

Lemmiwinks9619 I have long hair and do the same thing to mine. That part of the hair gets in the way and grows super slowly. I don't know a guy that doesn't have them like that with long hair, unless they have a beard.
A good idea would be to do tutorials of curly/wavy hair hairstyles, and the way to dry them and keeping them straight.

Hey I got an idea. Use a good shampoo and conditioner, get a brush and wide tooth comb, and *don't cut it* for God's sake. You think those rock stars in the 70's made sure to get it trimmed every six weeks? No, they grew it out all the way and rocked on.

I'm Muslim by the way and cousin marriages are completely allowed in Islam. But recently read an article that it's not allowed in Christianity due to various genetic defects on kids if the parents are first cousins.
***** Haha, logically it's been said that you can't marry that cousin who's your father's brother's (uncle's) child because the male gene is dominant in a person so both of your father's have the same father hence carry the same genes which cause mutations. On the other hand if you marry your aunt's daughter, the daughter's father and your father are not related hence not carrying the same gene so there's not a chance of defect in children.

faraz hussain yes, am growing out my hair (5 month's from the last haircut) and when it reach about shoulder length I will only trim it, so am learning on how to cut my hair by myself just make it choppy/thining it, and I am really happy now :D
