True. Avi was amazing and will never be replaced or forgotten, but Matt is really good too and I'm happy at how every one of the other fans and I'm even surprised at how I myself am reacting to it. I felt like once I saw him I would be all snippy cause of how much I miss Avi, but once I heard how well he did with the group it made me happy and I'm happy that others are welcoming him into the group, I'm surprised at how well I'm taking it too. I miss Avi and he will always have a place in my heart, but Matt is also just as welcome among the fans too
Licking Girl Avi was just as good as the others. Just because he had a smaller part that was more overlooked doesn't mean he was the worst. He was just as talented as all of the others, and I miss him but I'm happy that he's happier now and that the band didn't take it so badly. True. No one can replace Avi. But Pentatonix was named after the Pentatonic scale. A pentatonic scale is a 5 note scale. Hence five members. PENTAtonix wouldn’t be PENTAtonix without 5 members.

hana I totally agree that PTX is amazing and super talented. However, I doubt that they "aren't autotuned" since almost all music production involves pitch correction at some level. It bothers me to see autotune get such a bad reputation because some artists abuse it and flatten their vocal tone

Home Free went through a similar transition in 2016 when Chris Rupp left and was replaced by Adam Chance. Adam fit in pretty quickly and developed his own voice and stage presence, and today almost nobody compares him to Chris. It looks like Matt Salee is headed in the same direction and will probably be equally successful in developing his own voice and stage presence. He already blends in extremely well with the group sound.
My thoughts exactly. Chance's voice is very different to Chris', and because of both that and the fact he is actually a bass, Home Free have managed to take a new direction with their music while still retaining their identity. I'm certain Pentatonix will be able to successfully do the same.

Avi left because he found it hard to keep up with the pace of the group. Because of the rising popularity and more touring/gigs etc, he was away from family and friends a lot and it was becoming quite overwhelming for him. I think Matt did an amazing job, considering he had such huge shoes to fill! I think people need to accept the fact that Matt is the current bassist, but they also need to remember that no matter what Avi will always have a special place in the heart's of Pentaholics. But that's just my opinion :)

Ignoring the fact I don't think her lip job looks good (just one guy's opinion), the insecurity in one's looks and body immediately brings a 10 plummeting straight down to a zero.
Pentatonix always makes my day better. Life for everyone has been rough this year due to covid and schools closing and all that jazz. On December 31st at midnight I say we all need to yell jumanji and then never speak of this year again.
The Mangle the group’s schedule was moving way too fast for Avi and the group wasn’t really getting to see family... it hit Avi harder than the rest of them, and recently he decided to take a step back from it all. He’s still making music, just at his own pace. He may return to Pentatonix in the future, he’s just catching his breath.

Matt is not Avi and it will never sound exactly the same as OG PTX, but Matt is extremely talented and deserves the chance to succeed in the group! Avi left because he found it hard to keep up with the pace of the group. Because of the rising popularity and more touring/gigs etc, he was away from family and friends a lot and it was becoming quite overwhelming for him. There's an announcement on the facebook page he's written explaining this if you want to google it and have a read for yourself! (:

I think Matt did an amazing job, considering he had such huge shoes to fill! I think people need to accept the fact that Matt is the current bassist, but they also need to remember that no matter what Avi will always have a special place in the heart's of Pentaholics. But that's just my opinion :)

I just find it sad we live in a world where even the most beautiful of all woman (I'm referring to Kirsten before she had work done) still feel insecure about their looks and undergo surgery to make their body seem more attractive. Ignoring the fact I don't think her lip job looks good (just one guy's opinion), the insecurity in one's looks and body immediately brings a 10 plummeting straight down to a zero.

Pentatonix always makes my day better. Life for everyone has been rough this year due to covid and schools closing and all that jazz. On December 31st at midnight I say we all need to yell jumanji and then never speak of this year again.

The Mangle the group’s schedule was moving way too fast for Avi and the group wasn’t really getting to see family... it hit Avi harder than the rest of them, and recently he decided to take a step back from it all. He’s still making music, just at his own pace. He may return to Pentatonix in the future, he’s just catching his breath.

Same! Now that I’m able to hear him clearly I can now see why they chose him out of the 50 people that auditioned! He has such a vibrant personality and adds a nice depth to the group. I will never forget Avi though but for now we have to appreciate what Matt is doing for us pentaholics!

Matt is not Avi and it will never sound exactly the same as OG PTX, but Matt is extremely talented and deserves the chance to succeed in the group! Avi left of his own accord, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from Matt and even hearing him have the lead in a newer song once they figure out how to work him in.
