Basically saying that his voice makes them happy, and as long as they can hear his voice, they will be happy, even if the only way they get to hear is voice is through insults. Speaking out of a baritone/bass range, close to Matt or Avi, those notes are actually more expected then impressive. They're hard to do right, but they're definitely part of the range he should. I do think he did this exceedingly well though
Even since he joined PTX, I hear his range growing more and more. All of them have extended their ranges over time, and I swear they’re keeping getting better and better!

Does Avi have an amazingly talented and unique gift that we all miss? Yes. Is Matt a fantastic addition to the group? Also yes. He is also incredibly talented, they are just different!
I’ve said that people need to realize they have 2 distinct separate voices. I, like you, get tired of constant remarks about Avi. Give Matt a break people. I loved this video. I’m 73 years old. I know good music when I hear it. PTX is incredible.

People really need to stop comparing Matt with Avi. They both have different talent. Pentatonix was not trying to replace Avi, they took Matt to complete the group. That's the whole point of making a singing group.

@@joshsutherland5475 to be honest they aren't really bass notes. I don't think he goes any lower than about a G2 which is technically baritone. People compare matt and avi because Avi is a basso profundo, the classical term for an extremely deep projected and strong voice. Whereass Matt is a baritone really, based on the fact that his lower range, while it still goes pretty low, is more breathy and not as loud or confident. They're two different voices so it's kind of like comparing a huge ford raptor to a toyota mx-5. Both cars, both really fun and great cars, but in different aspects.

i think it’s so disrespectful to say that matt is not talented enough and that they want avi back. not only is that disrespectful to matt, it’s also disrespectful to the whole group and avi as well. avi wanted a different life. he wasn’t happy. yes, avi is a phenomenal bass but he has a different timbre than matt. no one is going to be able to sing like avi and no one is going to be able to sing like matt. personally, i believe matt is EXTREMELY talented and i’m happy he’s finally been showcased. can we talk about that range? i can’t imagine what it’s like for him to be constantly told by his “fans” that they want avi back and that matt will never live up to the expectations. no one likes to hear that. matt is a good bass, he’s solid. change sucks, but this is good change.

Wong Rocky - Are you asking what he did? If so then Avi did what Matt is doing now, sing the low harmonies to the song. He was very talented and had a very deep vocal range. I never found out why he left Pentatonix.
Avi chose to leave the group and go solo in 2017. He released a video saying he missed his friends and family and nature too much and the band was moving too fast for him.
He released one album with his friends then dropped them. He left LA and moved to Nashville and is now touring world wide singing his own original music

I love everything about this -Matt’s charisma, everyone’s facial expressions, the harmonies and musical switchups, the editing/video design. It’s so satisfying how the editing lines up not only with the music but where Matt is looking, etc. It’s basically just “red and green boxes” but it’s so well choreographed 🥰

They bounced around a lot. I'm glad they focused on Matt but I would have liked to have seen them stay on the other a bit longer. We barely saw Scott or maybe it just felt that way b/c he didn't have any noticeable vocals since he was covering the bass.

I can’t stand the mullet. It’s slightly better than the 70’s porn mustache, but not by much. I loved his style back a few years. This current trend of massively oversized clothes and funky hair just isn’t doing it for me.
