I think my favorite things is the fact that Kirstie did the whole thing with her eyes shut, knowing that Scott's hand would be in the right place for her when she reached to clap it.
Watching this I am reminded of a beautiful time with a beautiful friend that gives hope where ever she is. Thank you Jess for the adventures you made me go through and making me step out of my comfort zone even when you're not there, I miss you!❤

the fleet foxes version, while this one isn't bad at all, just to me has so much more soul and passion and I would highly recommend anyone who hasn't heard it by now to go listen to it immediately
Agree. It's partly bc it's a capella, but also bc Pentatonix uses pitch correction, even on live recordings. Pitch correction has that effect, it makes the music sound mechanical and soulless.
I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats With scarves of red tied 'round their throats *To keep their little heads from falling in the snow* And I turned 'round and there you go *And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red* *As strawberries in the summertime* Kind of morbid for a Christmas/winter song, imo. And it gives me two thoughts. 1. Someone singing this to their kid before bedtime, and, the next day, the kid saying he had a nightmare about it. 2. Someone telling a shrink about having nightmares about the song, and the shrink telling him he's been listening to it too many times, and he's losing his head.
Thanks for sharing your innermost brain farts. Nobody ever said it was a Christmas song, or specifically suited for children. This is from a Christmas tour, which basically means it happens in November/December. A lot of fairy tales have more explicit descriptions of violence in them than this, though, come to think of it. Good luck with not having nightmares.
I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to do that percussion and sing at the same time. Great performance.
Actually it's quite the opposite - the rhythm with their hands is holding and helping them with the song. Wonderful performance......

Incorrect. PTX has stated publicly they didn’t perform this live for years because of problems coordinating the body percussion.

Scott talks about it during the intro.

im singing in a choir and we are learning this too, and the body percussion is really hard to to whilst singing

Amazing performance as usual! The captions and lyrics could be a lil bit smaller!

Robin Pecknold, frontman for Fleet Foxes, who wrote the songs says it's about a painful loss of innocence
@@monkeydude5871 Thanks for that insight👍

Twelve Days of Cryptmas (Tenth day)
I love fleet foxes “white winter hymnal” but it’s not a Christmas song. Turning it into a Xmas song ruins it
Nope, elevated.
Stick with fleet foxes all day long
