  • If the trunk latch on you car is loose, or if your car's trunk lid rattles and doesn't close tightly, here is how to tighten the car trunk latch and make your trunk close tightly.

    Legend! My boot/trunk has been leeking slightly and then I noticed the lid moves slightly when I push it. This should solve it a treat! Thanks man =)

      You're welcome. If your Focus has the SOHC engine, you should watch this video:

      If you have the Ztec engine, you don't need to worry about it.

    Same problem with a mk2 '06 Focus, but there are no visible screws so I could tighten or loosen them.. :/

      I wonder where they are? Maybe rivets on the inside?

    My trunk won't latch close on a 2015 Chrysler 200... Any suggestions

      Look for obstructions and alignment issues. Also look for bolts you can loosen and tighten to move things around.

    The open door light came on in my Ford Focus and it's the trunk. The problem is the when I close it , it closes but won't lock. I hope this helps. Not trying to spend money lol

    i need to shift my latch up? www.dropbox.com/s/p9rts4v2g01zc4v/Screenshot%202014-02-28%2018.29.15.png my trunk lid doesnt sit flush with the wings

    • @hoohoohoblin
      @hoohoohoblin  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to shift the latch mechanism around a little bit the way I did it in the video. if you move it down, it will make the trunk lid sit higher.
